An Expensive Waste Of Money
Despite having previously cooked on gas (with lava rock) for years in the past and on much cheaper gas bbq the Outback Spectrum 3 burner hooded (with lava rock)is a disaster. No matter how you try to cook (lid up / down, lava rock in situ and / or removed, gas burners turned down to lowest level etc. etc. the meat always burns and sticks to the grill and griddle. A huge waste of money as far as I am concerned. Would anyone like to buy this from me - used 4 times and going cheap !!

Good Build, Good Heat.
Great BBQ, suitable for lots of peoples needs providing good cooking space and great heat. Easily cook on the grill or griddle and also you can use the hood to roast food too. Suits me down to the ground.

This Barbque was easy to put together, and that's where the good points end.
The main problem is that the drip tray has holes in all 4 corners this allows the fat and juice to run out and onto the wooden base and onto the patio floor. This is a design fault of the tray, not just a defect of my tray. The flame burners are set back 4 inches from the front of the barbque so food does not cook on the first 4 inches, there are also cool spots between the burners, the back of the grills are red hot and this causes flare-ups even when the gas is on the lowest setting, on a weber bowl you can close the lid and the smoke will put out the flames - but there is so much ventilation closing the lid has no effect.. And last the warming rack can collaspe, ok when hood open but when you close it it will collapse dumping the food back on the grill. ( I had 8 burgers, 14 drumsticks and 16 sausages on it )
I have owned Stumps since the first prototype!! I acalulty bought the 3rd one he ever made!! I purchased a used model last year and since then, i have slept at every comp! I have just come back from Ga yesterday where I/we won GRAND CHAMP! Got some really good sleep and the combo of the Guru and Stumps is unbeatable! This is my 2nd Grand in a row! First was KCBS (backyard) in Columbus Ga and yseterday at IBCA event in Effingham GA. I guarantee that you will love this Cooker! Enjoy! Keith/Seriously Smokin' BBQ
