Awful Quality

Upon arrival the 8x12' greenhouse had a few twisted and bent beams that had to be resent. Got the greenhouse built and within a few months I had to replace the roof panels that were constantly blowing out. Doors ripped off a few times which I managed to solve by putting in a few bathroom extractor fan vents in each corner to allow the built up pressure inside to escape. Doors need taping together in strong winds as they blow open and them panels pop out again.

I even ordered some aluminium extrusions a few months after buying this to sandwich the roof panels in place between the roof beams. This worked and panels didn't now pop out, however I did have more drips as the holes I had to drill into the middle of the polycarb. Despite spending more on the extrusions I DIY'd I reckon this piece of garbage has cost me circa £650. Would I buy again, heck no, it's too big of rat thickness of the material used. Also to note that mine was laid on level concrete.

Only Frame Left Standing

These greenhouses are great if it's not windy, door blown off bottom runner, allows wind into greenhouse and pops all the panels. Clips remain in place, are obviously not fit for purpose. This is going to be the third time l have got to re-assemble the greenhouse, tried adhesive, silicone sealer but panels are so flimsy they just flex in the wind and pop out. ordered additional clips and fitted 10 to each panel, still no good.

Need to go back to there original design where the Perspex panels slid into the framework. Corners have been cut resulting in a not fit for purpose product.

Poor Quality, Wrong Model Advertised, No Customer Service

I have bought the Waltons extra-tall polycarbonate greenhouse, and i wish i have never made this decision.

The greenhouse i received is not the one advertised on their website.

the frame is flimsy, the polycarbonate sheets are held by these W spring clips. As soon as the wind blows at more than 10m/s, some of the polycarbonate sheets will pop out.

the sliding door has a design issue. There is a big gap between the door and the greenhouse frame, letting the wind go through. and the door rail mechanism is a joke. The door is just sitting on its rail, with a groove of a couple of millimetres at the bottom. The very flimsy door can be removed just by pulling it backward, using no force at all. Without any modification (if you're good at DIY), the door wouldn't even support a gentle breeze.

It is a copy of the gardman model, but even poorer.

It's not exactly the same as the gardman, it's not the one they advertise on their website either. It's just a unknown type made in China.

Do not by this piece of junk, you will regret!

I have sent many emails to Waltons customer service for more than a month, asking for at least an explanation for the model mismatch.

I have receive no reply from them.

No Reply at all!!

trying to call them is useless: just some waiting music, but no one to answer.

It is the worst product i bought ever, and the worst (non-existent) post sales customer service i had to deal with.

DO NOT BUY FROM WALTONS!!

Exactly What It Says On The Tin

Came next day as advertised. The video on the product page was big help. The instruction aren't that clear when you first start but once you and lay all the pieces out, they start to make sense. It took me and my mate abour 3 hours to get the frame complete and after that about another hours of cliping the polycarbonate panels in. All in all pretty happy with it.

Halls Polycarbonate Greenhouse

please do not even consider this type of greenhouse if you intend to site it in an exposed situation. Halls stated that this greenhouse would withstand strong winds, well the state of my greenhouse proves Halls wrong, two polycarb roof panels were destroyed and the following down wind into the interior blew out and shattered two back panels and one side panel. I might add that my greenhouse is situated in a 6 foot high walled enclosure.

Panels Blown Away

Very poor quality. Took 2 three days to erect it on our on concrete base, panels a nightmare to try to fit into grooves. We erected it in a sheltered area of back garden surrounded by forest on two sides, back of house on one side and 3m high fence of other side. We had light winds of 20mph and when we woke up 11 panels had blown out, obviously once it is breached all the other panels will go. Previously one of the doors would come loose with the slightest wind and we had to fix it in every few days. We now have used black duck tape on every panel outside and in to see if this will keep in secure during windy weather. But obviously we chose this over a polytunnel for aesthetics, but now has black tape all over it. Wish we had got a polytunnel.

Bad Quality - Totally Collapsed.

We purchased the 8'x6' Polycarbonate Greenhouse in March 2012. We put a concrete base in place for the Greenhouse & my Husband & Son spent a day and a half assembling it. Almost immediately there were problems. There was a lot of condensation but a more worrying problem was that the side panels blew off regularly as did the door and windows every few days! Eventually the whole Greenhouse collapsed. We contacted Waltons as each problem occurred and kept them informed. Waltons responded albeit poorly on one occasion eg one response was we were offered a part to correct the problem! Which part we wondered would fix panels & windows & doors blowing off the Greenhouse regularly? We continued our correspondence with Waltons throughout the weeks/months that followed with details and images etc. Unfortunately we had two very close Family bereavements in August and as a result our responses and attention to e-mails from Waltons was not focused. To compound issues the e-mail from Waltons in October stating they would come and remove the Greenhouse and refund us coincided with an occasion at our home (our daughters wedding) whereby we had to dispose of the collapsed Greenhouse as Waltons response stating they would collect the Greenhouse and refund us had crossed out e-mail to them informing them of the problem. Our hands were tied as the collapsed Greenhouse was all over our garden at that stage and we needed our Garden for the Wedding photos. We sent photos to Waltons clearly showing the collapsed Greenhouse in pieces all over the garden but they refused to refund us at that stage quoting their terms & conditions and stating the goods must be sent back before refund is processed. While we fully understand terms and conditions and the reasons for same we feel Waltons could have been a little more understanding of our situation and more 'flexible' with our case as set out to them. We had informed them at every step of the many problems we had and also sent images of the problems as they occurred and also eventually the pics of the collapsed Greenhouse. We are honest consumers and expected that Waltons would understand out situation but they refused to refund. We then contacted the European Consumer Centre with all the details-they said that it would be up to Walton's to decide. They contacted Waltons who still refused to refund. We were and are still very disappointed and dis-satisfied with the outcome. We are honest consumers and while we do appreciate and understand the reasons for Terms & Conditions we feel Walton's were so very inflexible on this occasion.

Polycarbonate The Reality

There was some considerable difficulty in erecting the greenhouse but my main complaint is that after three years the roof is cracking and brittle. The sheets need replacing which will cost in the region of £160 and a great deal of time and frustration fitting them. There should be a warning that this problem is likely to occur which explains why there is only a twelve month warranty.

Only purchase polycarbonate if there is a ten year warranty.
