Cashing In On The Delivery Costs

I have to admit, I didn't actually manage to purchase the machine. I did the research, decided that it was the machine I wanted at I must admit a very good price. And then whilst ordering I realised that Titan wanted to charge me an additional £30 for delivery on top of the £20 charge. Apparently the explanation for this is the increasing cost of fuel. Strange that, I work in the oil industry and we seem to have seen falling fuel costs for the last 12 months. Funny how Titan and their couriers haven't noticed. The situation was made worse by a nice little notice that advertised Titan wanting to support Irish gardeners so delivery to Ireland was only an additional £20. Seems if you live in Scotland Titan don’t value your custom quite as much, if at all. Most strange of all was that I would never of thought of writing this if I hadn't been using this site to review the product. Thumbs up for the review site, thumbs down I'm afraid for Titan.

Titan-pro 14hp Chipper - A Very Good Machine

I bought this machine about 6 months ago. Not long after I bought it, one of the cutting blades came loose and did major damage. I took some photos and emailed the suppliers. They promptly replaced the shredding chamber which is a major part of the machine and refunded 50Euro to my credit card to cover the cost of getting a local repair man to replace it. So my experience of dealing with customer services was very different to another recent reviewer. It's been working fine since. The chipper can manage up to 3'' diameter branchwood no problem. Anything bigger than 3'' - I cut for firewood. The shredder part works fine for twiggy brush e.g hedge clippings etc. My wife is a florist and produces a lot of soft green waste clippings from flower stems and foliage. I tried putting this through the shredder but it quickly clogged so not suitable for this kind of stuff. But this kind of stuff can be composted without any further treatment anyway The chipped and shredded material makes really great material for mulching or in my case I use it for surfacing pathways through a bit of woodland that I have.

Pros:. Starts incredibly easily even on the pull starter. Deals with big diameter branches even very crooked branches can be fed into the chipping funnel. Appears to be pretty robust construction - once all the screws are tightened! Very good price for a machine of this size.

Cons: Quite a heavy lump - not too difficult to manoever on the flat but even slight slopes can be a struggle on your own and a second person to push/pull can be great help. It has a tow bar if you have a machine to pull it with. The location of the chute through which the chippings/shreddings are expelled is at ground level and you need to use a ground sheet to collect the chippings.

Would definitely recommend this if you have the work for it.

Waste Of £500+

We bought one in good faith via the internet. Within two days of use the screws kept shaking loose, so we had to keep stopping to replace the metal cage. Within 1 month the guard had sheared away and was un-usable. I tried to contact the company 3 times without success. I then went heavy handed with a letter from which I got a response. They promised to sort it out and fix it. That was last summer, it is still not in use. If I could be bothered and had more time to waste, chase the company again.

So, what I would say is. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! Unless you really want to waste your money

Titan 14hp Shredder Mulcher Review

Chuffed with this. Real top notch bit of kit for the money you pay.

It's a bit of a lump, but luckily it has a tow bar so I just pull it around my yard on the ride on mower I have.

Put all manner of branches and debris (within reason) through this and its churned it out no problem. I'm clearing our land and my wife uses the mulch to keep her flower beds healthy!

Little bit miffed I had to purchase engine oil separately but for the job its done, I have absolutely no complaints!

Excellent service. Happy shredding.

Best Of Its Kind In This Price Range

Received the machine in November and thought I'd give it a few months before giving a review, and I haven't been disappointed. For the waste I need disposing on a regular basis, I thought I would upgrade to this beauty, after owning temperamental electric shredders in the past. The shredder and chipper have worked very efficiently for myself, and friends who have borrowed it just this last week for clearing their new allotment.

The only possible negatives I can think of is that its pretty noisy, but this is to be expected. So firing her up at 7am might not make you the most popular neighbour! Delivered quickly and well packaged on a pallet. Fired up first time and I haven't looked back since.

Thanks very much to the guys at Titan. Would recommend.

Titan-pro 14hp Chipper. Great Chipper But Poor Shredder.

As a chipper it is excellent, handling anything more or less that will fit down the chipper tube. But not so good as a shredder of bushy and leafy stuff. The input hopper is severely tapered, so unless you only put in a handful or so at a time it jams in the throat, and you have to spend much time with a long branch forcing it through. Also it can jam on the output, as it shreds very finely, and can clog the holes in the guard inside the output chute. This can happen if you don't keep clearing the shreddings away from the bottom of the output chute. Again a stick is needed to clear the holes. The engine has to be kept running during these clearing operations, as the shredding chamber must be clear before re-starting, otherwise you can damage the drive belt - and a replacement costs £30 including delivery. If the chamber isn't clear before re-starting, you have to remove the output guard and clear out the chamber by hand - difficult as it is so low to the ground.

Job Sorted

my garden is an old railway line, with about 50 trees and bushes.garden waste has always been a problem.not anymore.this machine easily handles the job with no bother.plenty of power is what you need and this machine has got it.i have wasted money buying 240v plug in electric shredders, which kept stalling, before finally burning out the motor.just not man enough for the job.this is what you want.does exactly what it says on the tin. should have brought this 10 years ago.

A Titan Pro 14hp Chipper-shredder. Well

A Titan Pro 14HP Chipper-Shredder.

Well packaged and supplied on a pallet, it just needed the wheels and stand attaching, oil and petrol and it was ready to go. It comes with safety gear (essential) and a few tools to aid assembly and maintenance.

To move this heavy machine, it's best to grab the shoot handles with a foot against the axle, then find the balance point on the two wheels and manoeuvre it just as you would a sack cart.

Out of the box (having been supplied dry), it started first pull, amazing!

We ran it for about 3 hours. It's pretty noisy so you need to pick a time and weather for it. My daughter helped and it was good she did because this thing shreds and chips faster than one can load it. Under heavily load conditions, the 14HP engine just keeps going and the drive belt takes the strain. Need to keep this in mind to maximise belt life. The output shoot also tends to clog up a bit after a while but this is not a real problem, just need to take care and clear it with a stick.

We've spent many hours in the past grinding twigs with lesser machines, not any more. The Titan-Pro shreds and chips well, it's fast, strong and powerful. It's good enough for contract work.

If you are lucky, you might catch a bargain on eBAY. I was not and so paid full price direct. It's not cheap but it is good. Recommended.

Definitely Good Value For Money. Very Impressed Wi

Definitely good value for money. Very impressed with this Titan chipper/shredder. Arrived punchually and well packaged. Has worked smoothly and is very efficient and durable. Is extremely straight forward to use and makes your garden look a lot tidier. The chippings are very useful for flower beds and my kitchen wood burner. So very happy with this. Most definitely recommend to other buyers.

Brilliant, Easy To Use Wood Shredder. It Is A Well

Brilliant, easy to use wood shredder. It is a well designed machine with excellent features as the below review also comments on. I am very happy with the titan pro chipper and most definitely would recommend the machine. It has a good sized engine and is not too noisy which is important. And it is able to shred smaller and larger branches with the two differnt entry points. Very happy customer.
