It took over two months to be delivered, even though they took payment right away. The engine compartment melted and the exhaust blew out of the side hitting my father. I reported to customer services. I then paid 10 pounds for their courier to pick up. Apparently after 3 attempts they did pick up.they have had the item for 3 weeks now and is with their quality control. I have asked for a replacement , which they are very reluctant to do. Customer services keep fobbing me off. They even said they don't know where it is now. There is a 2 year guarantee which comes with the product which I have had for 8 months. I would advise anyone buying from Eckman , please don't you will be very disappointed. My next step is a solicitor and trading standards.

Satisfying to read identical reviews but hard lesson learned! My assortment of what is now junk littering garAge, off to recycling centre! Mine lasted 2 seasons of gardening. Final event was motor drive failing.

Eckman Rubbish
Bought an Eckman hedge trimmer and it broke down on it's 2nd use. Can't get a refund as the company stopped trading in 2014. NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. Never used anything so useless and I'm a big DIY fan. Please do not get tempted by their prices as you're throwing away your hard earned money. They may say they are now trading under another name, but the company folded up one month after I received the trimmer and this I'm sure will happen again.

Do Not Purchase From Eckman
Purchased a 4 stroke multi tool, the "safety" guard disintegrated on 1st use,
returned faulty item for full refund, and was promised that it would be issued in 3-5 days - 10 emails (only 2 replies, one stating the refund has been issued), 3 phone calls to a 0844 number (1 promise of a call back, which never happened and 14 days later STILL NO REFUND. I am left hundreds of pounds out of pocket. Their customer services is a multiple company call centre who had to ask what company I was calling for. They obviously do not care about their customers as there are many negative reviews out ther both for the rubbish quality products and non-existant customer service

We are having the same problem with this company. We ordered a petrol strimmer believing it was in stock. They took money from Credit card. No email to confirm order. On my account which I had to open on ordering it stated there were no orders pending. After ringing too many times and having to wait 20 minutes to answer.still no satisfaction. 5 emails which were not replied to. The last phone call said items were being dispatched and would arrive Wednesday and Thursday. We were told they had not taken the money but Pay Pal had. This was a lie as I am not signed up to Pay pal and on receiving our credit statement the company had taken our money the day after ordering. It has now been over 3 weeks and no one has contacted us. Keep away from this unreliable company. They will lie through their teeth and that is if you are lucky enough to get through. Yes it is an o844 number. A helmet we ordered arrived today but no sign of the strimmer which is why we ordered the safety helmet. NEVER AGAIN. Get in touch with trading standards and report them. Hopefully they will be off the internet.
Eckman Rubbish
I have a Eckman multitool and a Hedge trimmer both of which I have used just a few times but now refuse to start despite repeated attempts. Changed spark plugs and changed the fuel but no joy. I phoned them to found out if I could get them serviced and was told "we don't do servicing. I emailed them to see where I could get it serviced and have not heard back.
There silence speaks volumes about this company!
I can think of better ways to waist my money.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
Bought my Eckman multi-tool from mysmartbuy last spring (24th April 2013). It looked perfect for my sized garden and had all the tools required at a good price.
It arrived with damaged harness, although it was changed when I complained.
Four uses later it will not keep running but cuts out - diagnosed as carburettor problem by local garden machinery dealer.
Contacting 'Eckman' I was told that spare parts are now impossible to get as Eckman closed as a company this April (2014) and the current company trading under this name only bought the name/trademark.
So no chance of repair or assistance from there!
Interesting though as the current Eckman is still selling the multi-tool, and is using the former company's logo and sales/support phone number.
So to summarise, quality poor, support non-existent, avoid mysmartbuy, buy branded supported goods.
Learned the hard way.
If the price is cheap - so is the product quality.
Now buying a Stihl multi-tool, three times the price but it will last more than three times as long!

Poor Quality; Poor Spares And After Sales Service
Motor unit output drive shaft splines sheared after minimal use. No joy trying to get repair or replacement through Eckman. There is nothing that someone can build cheaper than someone else; to those the buyer is his lawful prey. Buy a Stihl and use it for years.

Multi-tool Shortcomings
Guard against buying an Eckman petrol long reach multi-tool hedge trimmer! They are flimsily built and if anything goes wrong with the motor, virtually unreparable. So motor failure means all the attachments are rendered useless, as models are quickly superceded by incompatible versions. Above all, avoid MySmartBuy.com, whose customer service is poor. I had a failed motor which they assured me was repairable, charged me £10 to be collected, and despite packaging it to the satisfaction of the driver, it was badly damaged in transit then declared unrepairable. I was told it was all my problem - even that it was not properly packaged. All I was offered was 10% off a new machine - as if I'd want one!
