Handy Hedge And Shrub Trimmer
Item arrived in double quick time, first charge to full took about 2 hrs. Item is light weight and really useful to reach tall bushes due to extended length. Run time is approx. 45 minutes as advertised. Worst feature is on/off trigger switch which is very awkward and stiff to operate, requires good finger strength. Be aware that this is a good trimming tool and ideal for a mid season tidy up but should not be considered to be a serious hedge cutter. My 30 year old Black and Decker corded cutter is much better for tough hedging. However bearing in mind it’s limitations it is a excellent product for garden maintenance

Useless Product
The first one I bought broke down in less than half an hour.
Gtech replaced it promptly with a new one.
The second replacement broke in less than 10 minutes work.
Gtech have refunded my money in full.
Subsequently I bought a Bosch cordless hedge trimmer and it is fantastic.

Could Not Possibly Be Worse
This was a good company but now the company is established and a market leader they are best avoided. I ordered this product and was not told it was out of stock, consequently it didn't arrive , when it finally came It missing the free branch cutter........that's my review and it's not even out of the box, my advice....use one the companies competitors.

Hedge Trimming
This machine has been in use for 2/3 years, and works satisfactorily for light softwood material but does not have enough power for more woody hedges.
The on/off switching is poorly designed and fiddly to operate the safety catch.

Broke After 35 Minutes Use.
It took nine days to arrive and I bought an extra battery an they were both fully charged and first battery lasted barely 30 minutes so put other battery on and then the drive broke and I was only cutting small little bits of a hedge.

Junk..plus Mendacious Customer Service
Head broke off after few light uses. When they did bother to respond Gtech customer services were obfuscatory and mendacious. Clearly as others say they seem to me not to stand by product, warranty of sale of goods acts, Just avoid.
agree...not too good ...charger packed up out of guarantee and battery power went over two year period ..only used 7 times...not China's best...nb was kept recharged every two weeks...worst batt. product I have had...too expensive for what you get...and £40 for new batt....!!!?..no way..back to my old mains job..nb Their vacuums however very good...

H204 Cordless Hedge Trimmerbranch Cutter
Product is easy to assemble and light (I am 5 feet tall and 73 years old).
Lacked power and blades moved slower than the cordless hedge trimmers I have had before (Bosch). I have a hawthorn hedge which I cut every year so the branches were not thick but I found this trimmer tiring because it was so slow to use, due to its lack of power. Noticed that in the video about it on the website, the man demonstrating was trimming a cypress/leylandii hedge ie soft material which required little trimming, just tidying up. Disappointed, good job it was reduced price! OK on privet and conifer hedges I imagine. I have a GTech hand held vaccuum which is brilliant, this is why I bought the hedge cutter.
If you have a stronger hedge get a Bosch!

Blade Not Up To The Job!
Bought this just under 2 years ago. Worked fine for first three uses on my 20ft light hedge but blades became totally blunt after that. I contacted Gtech customer services who suggested I get them sharpened! I sent a further e-mail to them in which I made the point that I had previously owned a Black & Decker corded cutter for 15 years and had not needed to resort to this and felt that their blades were not fit for purpose. They have not had the decency to reply.
It seems their customer care matches their product-useless!
Sub Standard Product
Bought this product on the basis that it was cordless and lightweight. Worked ok to start with last summer but when I came to use it this summer the battery would not charge. The battery is in built so you can't buy a replacement. Don't buy a cordless device unless you can replace the battery. Land fill awaits.
Not Up To The Job
We purchased this item last week direct from gtech based on the weight and it being cordless. On a privet hedge that was just sparsely grown it was fine but to trim a conifer hedge the cutter was useless and we had to "down tools" halfway. The battery was fully charged. Also the handle did not increase as much as we hoped. I have arranged for it to be returned and have to pay £10.00 for the privilege. I wouldn't recommend this product.
