So Far Awesome Hedge Trimmer.
Had three petrol hedge trimmers with not much luck, decided on going for the Stihl HS45 (24 inch blade) after reading positive reviews decided to take a gamble and go for it, was a little disappointed with the one year warranty if Stihl are that confident their products are the best they should start doing a 2/3 year warranty.
The hedge trimmer from first starting up was like a dream, an absolute beast of a machine that tackles conifers and privets with great ease, I'm doing jobs much quicker with the Stihl HS45, real piece of kit happy I've paid top dollar for a top machine!
A note to say that you have to buy Stihl products in a dealership you can't buy online not new Stihl products anyway.

Stihl Hs45 (24
Bought this to replace a Ryobi Expand-It system, which was rubbish. The Stihl cost twice as much but is a million times better.
Starts easy for a 2-stroke - first pull after the winter storage. I've had it a year and OK so far.
I have some serious hedges (semi-wild, half a mile of sides, 6-8ft high). The Stihl goes like a hot knife through butter - it's awsome what thickness of stems it gets through. I go along at ground level at semi-walking pace, but it's the step-ladder for the tops that takes the time.
Only carp is that it kept stopping just after starting, with the ignition switch off. I found that the cord toggle, when you let it go, can hammer the switch off - it is in exactly the right position to do so!
Instruction book made me laugh - mostly

Review Of My New Stihl Hs45 Hedge Cutter
I have just purchased the Stihl HS45 and very pleased with its performance. I thought it was a little expensive but have used one of their strimmers for years and never had a problem. I have realised you only get what you pay for. It is easy to start and not too heavy to use to say it has a reasonable size of cut.I cannot fault it in any way and would reccomend it to anyone.

Bought One Of These A Few Weeks Ago When My Old He
Bought one of these a few weeks ago when my old hedge trimmer died. I cut a very high and thick privet hedge and so needed a decent quality trimmer with a longish blade, mine is the 24 inch version. The Stihl is a joy to use. It cuts through quite thick stems and is well balanced. The fuel tank is a bit on the small side but I think that a larger one could spoil the balance of the machine. Starting is easy - just follow the instructions and away she goes. You really do get this impression that you are using a top quality machine. Other reviewers have rated this machine highly and contributed to my decision to buy one. I am pleased that I did. Expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for. Excellent machine.

I Have Used One Of These For Many Years As A Full
i have used one of these for many years as a full time gardener ,it has not got the sharpest blade for the smartest cut but it is reliable cutting through material thicker than one would recomend. i would recomend this if you want a machine you can depend on

The Stihl Hs 45 Petrol Hedge Trimmer Is An All Rou
The Stihl HS 45 Petrol Hedge Trimmer is an all round great hedge cutter. I've had mine for 8 years but it has only been serviced once and the blade didn't get sharpened and it sounds really smooth.
