Brill Razorcut 33
Very happy to express my satisfaction with the Brill Razorcut.
A machine I've owned for five years now and can say that it cuts brilliantly AND collects well.
My machine must have cut a tonne of grass by now and Parts 17L and 17R (from an exploded diagram) are showing signs of wear. Tho once replaced, the machine will be near as good as new. Still cuts beautifully after all these years.
Highly recommended.

Brill Razorcut Is An Expensive Alternative
Just bought the Brill RazorCut and disappointed with its performance. Im experienced and knowledgable with lawnmowers and the RazorCut is no better than the budget mowers you will find in DIY stores (B&Q bosch @ £48) as oppose to £142 that i have just paid including its flimsy grass catcher. Its claim is 'contact free technology' which there is no such thing. Its internal gears are engineered plastic like all budget mowers and will, in a short period of time, wear out. Blades jam up with the slightest bit debris on the lawn and leaves its unsightly tyre marks visable. Sorry but this mower does not match the vintage hand-powered push mower that i already have Ransomes Certes Mark VIII (1950's). I dont think there is a hand push mower currently in production that will contain metal gears, solid hardened steel cutting blades (this has a useless 5 blade cassette). This mower's manual claims that its blade cannot be sharpened so therefore it cannot be maintained- you have to buy a new mower! The B&Q Bosch/Qualcast Panther also has a soft steel blade the same but by 'backlapping' with oil and a lapping compound you can actually get the blade to cut paper in a matter of minutes. This is what a cylinder mower needs to do in order to give your grass a sharp clean cut and it will look a lush green colour and not tear it like the RazorCut will do. It leaves it to go brown and yellow and looks unhealthy. I cannot advise you at this moment with a better alternative as it is just the way production methods are these days- mass produced rubbish.

I Wish I'd Read These Reviews Before Buying The Br
I wish I'd read these reviews before buying the Brill which had been recommended by friends. It is frustrating that it won't cut to the edge and creates extra work. Despite adjusting the grass box numerous times, it still won't stay on the mower and neither does it collect clippings very well. I could live with one or other of the niggles but the two together have turned mowing into a real challenge. I've learned a lot from this experience and at least will be wiser when choosing the next one.

I've Owned One Of These Brill Razorcut Mowers For
I've owned one of these Brill Razorcut mowers for about six months now and I'm sorry to say that I am about to ditch it.
The mower itself is quite good. It cuts well and is very easy to push. My previous mower had a large back roller which would allow me to go over the edge where the grass meets the flowerbed. That's not possible with this model as it depends on the two side wheels. If one of them falls off the edge of the grass then the blades imediately drop onto the grass and sieze - for my small garden with flowerbeds all around the edge of the grass this is quite a problem for me, and I find I have to go around with the shears to do the bits this mower cannot do. It also can't get close to the edge where the grass meets a side wall. The closest it can get is about 10cm from the wall due to the side wheels. In fairness to this model perhaps I'm just not used to using a mower with side wheels.
I could put up with the things above if it was not for the grass box which is an optional extra I purchased at the same time. The grass box is so poor as to be unusable. There is a large gap between the blades and the grassbox so unless the mower is pushed fast enough the grass falls down the gap instead of going into the box. The grass which has made it into the box tends to slip forward and fall out onto the lawn. I keep having to stop and pick up what has fallen out. I gave up using the grass box and used the mower without it, but the problem with this is the grass gets trodden into the house. With two children going back and forth between the house and garden we are always having to hoover up grass.
In summary, the mower is small and light, and cuts very well. It seems well designed with good build quality. In contrast, the grass box seems like it was added as an after thought designed by the work experience boy.

The Brill Razorcut Premium 33 Cylinder Lawn Mower
The Brill RazorCut Premium 33 Cylinder Lawn Mower is the Best Hand Mower on the market
No problems with the handles
Grass Catcher has never fell off.....Are people not fitting it right.......?
The strap goes through the bag and frame on the top of the catcher then hooks on the top hole of the Aluminium part of the handle....?.....
All the magazines give this mower good reviews
Don't be put off by the odd negative review.....!
Half a dozen friends have bought one after using my Razorcut...!

Very Disappointed With This Brill Razorcut Premium
Very disappointed with this Brill RazorCut Premium 33 Cylinder Lawn Mower. It cuts well enough and to begin with I enjoyed using it. The problem with it is the detachable handle. The way it attaches to the mower itself is very poorly designed. It relies on sprung tension of the lower part to keep it in place, however the more you use it the weaker this tension becomes. The handle pops off my six month old one now so much it's almost useless.

I'm Really Pleased With My Razorcut. I Too H
I'm really pleased with my Razorcut. I too had a problem with the handles but I was sent some new lower handles. Apparently they had a few machines with this fault, the lower part of the handles need to be splayed out more so it pushes against the side of the casing.
It really is easy to use, lightweight, no cables to worry about or petrol.
It takes half the time to cut my lawn because I can just start mowing straight away. If the grass isn't too long you can leave the clippings on the lawn and not collect. The contact free blade makes it very easy to push and it's a lot quieter than my old Qualcast. It also means no sharpening for at least 5-6 yrs which is expensive to do on cylinder mowers.
As already said, The Razorcut doesn't cut up to the edge of a wall. This is the case with all cylinder mowers due to the blade being suspended from each side. Hand mowers are also very 'green' with no engine emissions or noise pollution.
The Razorcut is a bit pricey but it's the best on the market in my opinion.
Overall,very happy with my purchase..........!

I Decide To Get A Manual/pushalong Lawn Mower Rece
I decide to get a manual/pushalong lawn mower recently and purchased a Brill RazorCut Premium.
This is a modern design of an old principle.
It cuts very well as long as you haven't let the grass get too long!!!
It has an adjuster to vary the cutting height but after the first cut I've left it on the minimum setting which means you really need to trim every week, but I find it very easy to push and a pleasure to use.....even my 10 year old can use it fine!!!!!
If your thinking about getting the collecting bag with it (extra) I would say don't bother! It's not very secure and keeps falling off the front and causes more annoyance than helpfulness.
It packs away very compact and is easily stored/moved.
The wheel caps fell off quite early on, but I haven't bothered trying to keep these on as they're only cosmetic.
To sum up, I like the idea and design, but I feel there may be more cost effective alternatives out there.

The Brill Razorcut Premium 33 Cylinder Lawn Mower
The Brill RazorCut Premium 33 Cylinder Lawn Mower is quick and easy to use. Gone are the days of getting the extension lead out and trying to untangle the cable. With the Brill you will have finished before next door has started. The mower design is good and pleasing to the eye, looking thoroughly modern. I have experienced no issues with the handle, however the grass collector does jump its "hooks" occasionally. It is now a pleasure mowing the lawn - not a chore.
