Heavy But Tough
I've owned a Ranger 53 pro since 2005 and its still going strong although its not been without its problems. I have a tough country garden all over the place with humps and bumps, slopes and tree root protrusions so not that easy on mowers. The 53 pro is a beast and heavy as hell so not the easiest to manouevre around but these are the good points. The thing packs grass so tight in the collecter you would not believe how much you can cut before you need to empty. The blade is a monster and easy to remove and sharpen on a grinding wheel. The crank shaft is tough and the protector seems to work good. It doesn't clog nearly half as bad as a Rover 560 pro that I tried recently. It starts easy generally and doesn't burn too much oil. Some of the not so goo points. The front wheels have come off a few times and I have needed to weld up the crank bar that joins the wheels together. This is a result of the mass of the thing and whacking into objects like tree trunks that don't tend to yield. Despite the handle being reinforced with additional stays I have still managed to shear off one side where the tubular bar is pressed into a flat section where it meets the main chassis....more welding. The grass collector is tough but I managed to break it so a another weld and its perfect again. Its a bit noisy so ok if you are out in the sticks. The clutch drive system works good at firstwhen new and for a few years but mine has gone tired and takes a while to work properly it needs to heat up a bit before transfer of drive to the back wheels begind to fully work. When warm it is fine again it seems.
So in conclusion if you can do a few repairs with a welding set or know someone that can this machine is pretty tough. It's main advantage is the massive airflow and grass collecting capability wet of dry but you need a bit of muscle to move this thing around trees and corners

Great For The First Year And Cuts Well But As Per
Great for the first year and cuts well but as per my previous Hayter mowers the build quality is poor. The moulded plastic parts housing the cut height, speed, grass box and numerous other parts just crack; bolts have sheered off and the grass collection box cracked after just two years of use and all this on a large flat, unchallenging lawn. Definitely will not buy another Hayter.

Hayter Ranger 53 Pro Lawnmower Reviews Is Heavy An
Hayter Ranger 53 Pro Lawnmower Reviews is heavy and well made, this has a large powerful over head valve engine.Ive had one two years now and use it to cut 1 acre, yes I know I should buy a lawn tractor. I get lazy and let the grass grow but this thing cuts the lot. I looked around at all sorts before I bought it, Honda, Rover, what ever, this thing came out as a brute of a thing and is more than man for the job. The grass collection is excellent, I use it as a vacuum cleaner on the lawn. Agree what G M has said. Once I get the grass down to a reasonable length, it whizzes along. I dont notice it being heavy on fuel.I would buy one again.

Bought This Mower To Replace A Mountfield With Met
Bought this mower to replace a Mountfield with metal case which had lasted 30 years. This one lasted 3 years. Both used in exactly the same way. The reatiler was no help at all.
Mine is coming up for 8 years and no corrosion on the alu case to speak of. I clean it out from underneath with a paint scraper from time to time and would spot any bad corrosion. The front wheel problems are true and a weak point but its only a 5 minute welding job to fix. Don't buy a new linked axle assembly, they are repairable.

Hayter Ranger 53 Pro Cuts Grass Like No Other Pede
Hayter Ranger 53 Pro cuts grass like no other pedestrian mower I have used, (forget honda, ibea, yanmar)
Cuts and lifts wet grass where others clog up.
Let down by niggly build quality and weight.
