Dreadful Lawnmower With Built In Fault

It looks good but the back wheels keep breaking. So far it has gone through four back wheels. They don't wear out they just break in the centre where the plastic breaks against the metal spindles turning the wheels.

So what do I do now? Buy two more back wheels at a minimum charge of £64. What a nonsense when the wheels are not worn out .They are broken because of a design fault with this machine.

It doesn't say much for Husqvarna quality.

If this was a car the manufacturer would call it in and repair the problem.

Rubbish Service

Wheels brake easily. Then price for new rear wheel ranges from £25.00 to £40.00 and then seem to wait ages to get one. Worst aftersales parts service ever!

Husqvarna R53sv, Front Drive, Large Rear Wheel Rot

Husqvarna R53SV, front drive, large rear wheel rotary 4 stroke mower.

Does the job well enough and the Honda engine is truly excellent. Reliable and never fails to start.

Problem is the rest of the machine PARTICULARLY the wheels which are very flimsy brittle pastic and not up to the job. One rear wheel completley collpased after only three years. The centre hub coming away from the rest. If they have to make wheels of plastic why not make them solid?

Not recommended.

Husqvarna R53sv: I Have Had The Us Equivalent Mode

Husqvarna R53SV: I have had the US equivalent model for the passed 4 years under the model name 5521CHV. The engine is excellent as you would expect from Honda, never missed a beat totally reliable and robust. The machine also looks good that was one reason why I chose it and the name Husqvarna.

However I have found that the machine is generally poor quality and most of it made up of poorly made plastic components. I broke a front wheel soon after purchase and found that the gearing is all plastic except the bolt that actually holds the wheel on so I shouldn't be surprised it failed.

The standard blades have a short life expectancy and now I find the deck is rusting out and also other plastic bits are beginning to fall off. I have had to replace the side discharge flap twice as the the little holding lugs (plastic) snap off.

This machine has not been abused having only done light work. It is always stored in a shed when not in use. I have found the machine frustrating and a disappointment. I also have a Husqvarna 240e Chainsaw and again this chainsaw is also smitten with poor quality. So I will be returning back to Honda lawnmowers and shilhe chainsaws

To prove my lawnmowers enjoy light use, my last machine was a self propelled Honda 21" bought in 1990 and lasted until I bought the Husqvarna in 2005/6.

A good thing spares have been easy to obtain and a lot cheaper in the US even after Custom duty. The UK price of the machine is high considering the quality it is the name you are paying for.
