Motor Failure
After about 3 years of Summer only use, the motor commenced rattling on start-up. I disassembled the motor housing and found the sesled front (ball) bearing of the motor ( just behind the impeller)completely missing!! There is at least a quarter inch of free movement. This in turn caused the bottom bearing to move out of position and fail as well. Machine now electrically and physically dangerous and has been binned for the rubbish it is because the local service agent declared it unrepairable at economic cost. It seems the motor/impeller costs more than a new machine, a typically Australian attitude to product support. No more Ryobi units for me (of any type) - I once respected the brand, but parts costs and after sale support are unacceptable.

(not So Cheap) Rubbish
Had this about a year, very heavy, cheap plastic impellor, gets blocked easily, bag fell to bits and now the motor has disintegrated. Complete rubbish and very disappointing especially as all the leaves are now falling and I have to buy a replacement !

Would Not Purchase Ryobi Products Again!
We were given the Ryobi blower/vac as a Christmas present 2 years ago. It has had very little use, probably used 3 times. It is heavy, awkward to manouvre, not to mention noisy. As I said we had only used the product 3 times when I noticed a burning smell coming from the engine and sparks coming out of it. I phoned Ryobi to complain about it, they haven't answered my call. I then emailed them twice, they still have not responded. Their back up service is deplorable! I would never purchase Ryobi products again if this is the way they treat customers! I would like to have known that the blower/vac was only going to last 3 uses otherwise I would have returned the gift to the store where it was purchased.
