Horrible!!!!!
NEVER get one of these! It's the cheapest most problem prone boiler I have ever seen. The one they put in new build flats because it is cheap, badly installed, impossible to make room for a replacement unless you pay exorbitant prices. It's like they do it on purpose to ruin your life!

Ideal Icos Isar Junk
It is well known fact among many in the trade that Ideal certainly dumped a Turkey into the market place with these models shockingly bad imho
were do you start with these boilers failing heat exchangers , pcb's , sumps that leak , internal insulation panels that drop off ect
On the combi's ideal ditched the conventional hot water flow switch or flow turbine & fitted a temperature sensor that sensed via temp change when a hot tap was opened. that proved so successful that they dropped it on subsequent models
They also brought out the shockingly bad (imho) over complicated Ideal Response combi another Turkey (imho)
Eventually they got to the stage were they had to buy in some one elses boiler & rebadge it as there own Ideal Mini C = Biasi
Worst Ever
Just spent £400 for new mother board, after recently moving in...I spend more time in airing cupboard pressing the reset button than actually in living room. Never had a problem like this with other boilers...Cannot afforded New boiler after paying out this.
Been fighting with BG for 11 years over this disaster! No more than 2 months goes by without having and engineer to come out and fix it. Been waiting 11 years for a new kitchen which has not been possible due to big leaks and downpours from boiler. Have given up and getting a Worcester fitted next week. Better take out a homecare plan on this dud.

Terrible, Broke Down Twice In 9 Months
we moved into our house two years ago and the combi boiler has broken three times in that period. Ok it is around 10 years old, but the plumber who fixed it has said the parts are like chocolate very easy to break, very unreliable. Anyway, we have spent over £200 fixing it. We are now saving for a new one with a better reputation worchester or vaillant. Anyway, my advice is to avoid this boiler at all costs

Not Ideal
Worst boiler ever, now on its 3rd pub and probably cost at least 3 times the purchase price in repairs despite being serviced every year plumbers love this product as it keeps them very busy, don't waste your money.

Not Ideal
The boiler came with our new house and for the first 3 years didn't have any problems until last year when had to replace the pcb that cost me 70gbp so not bad at all and installing it was very easy. Yesterday, so about 16months later, the boiler stopped working. Ordering a new pcb hoping that it'll fix the problem. At the moment cannot afford to buy a new boiler so will have to survive somehow the winter and start saving up for a new boiler. It's a waste of time and money. Don't even consider buying this pile of rubbish unless you have a lot of spare time and money to fix it.

A Very Neet Compact Boiler But Has Some Drawbacks.
I have had the ISAR HE for about 2 years now and although I have had to buy and fit a new PCB within the guarantee, the boiler itself has performed quite well. The downside is, I have a fault, in that it is wasting Water and Gas. I will explain. Last year to save money we had a water metre fitted, with our eye's firmly on the usage and cost's. However when we have the heating running in the cold weather It will waste unto 3 gallons of water till it reaches temperature. This is because of the very slow operation of the change over actuator. I even tried fitting a new one of these also. I am a retired installer and I do understand how these things work. If there is a mod: out there now that I could fix, please let me know. The whole point of having the boiler change in the first place was to economize. I wish I could have my Myson Midas back. Regards Alan Sutton
Waste Of Money
After sources our new boiler from a well know supplier every thing started to go wrong with it. New control board, heat exchanger and lots of other faults and parts. Having problems for past 2 months now insurance cover dosn't cover the fault as they say its the water at fault. Willing to scrap it at any cost and start again.
Terrible
Agreement about the terrible review above...Worse mistake to have our immersion water heating removed and have it replaced with this bag of sh.t!Problems from the word go...now left with no heating no hot water and no means of getting a replacement since this was through a government heating scheme...Single mum and will have a 3rd cold winter with no heating or hot water....
The boiler will come with 12 month warranty, contact the boiler maker..It wont cost you to get it Repaired

Idel Isar Avoid At All Cost !!!!
After 11 years and on average call out of British Gas at least 3 times a year, we have had it removed , every engineer without exception has said what a load of rubbish they are!! The last straw with us was a major water leak from within pile of junk causing major damage to wall and ceilings, The Idiot at BG call centre asked for policy number even after answering Hello Mr Faithorn , sorry to say the F word came out as I was trying to contain the water. JUST DON'T BUY ANY IDEAL BOILER !!!!
Q&A
I'm being told that my isar he35 is not of undustry standard its about 10years old and needs a service but my cover with BG wont do it for the reason given? Is this a fact?
