Siroflex Expanding Foam
Finally after buying lots of things from toolstation with never an issue, I ended up buying a complete dud item. Siroflex expanding foam.
I bought it thinking same size tin as HB own make and I was saving over £3 a tin.
How wrong was I. ..never filled same amount out of the 1 can i did manage to empty. The other 2 cans..despite following instructions, never emptied correctly..and i never did get the foam out. What did come out was like poor relative of expanding foam
I gave it a 1 star because it was green. Which was its only plus on other stuff out there.
So product was Waste of time and effort and money...£15 total in my opinion
Off to homebase to pay more but will get the job done.

Good Foam ..but Poor Canister Design...cap Exploded!!
Have used this product to fix sheeting boards for a while and was happy with it.
BUT...last week when one toppled over on the ground (attached to a gun) the top exploded off !! Covering the entire room with the foam...took ages to clean up.
They need to make the cap/cannister attachment more robust!!

Don't Touch Siroflex Expanding Foam With A Barge Pole!
I bought a can of Siroflex Expanding Foam and proceeded to follow the instructions. I covered my hands and eyes, firmly attached the plastic nozzle to the can as far down as it would go, shook the can vigorously, inverted the can, pushed the nozzle into the gap I wanted to fill and squeezed the trigger on the end of the nozzle attached to the can.
Foam came out for about 2 seconds at which point there was a miniature explosion as the nozzle snapped off just above the point where I had attached it to the can and my face, bare arms and shirt/trousers were plastered with foam. This stuff is like napalm and sticks to surfaces with a vengeance.
It then took me several hours to clean up as best I could and I had to throw the shirt away. I kept the trousers as they were of the work variety anyway and the marks didn't really matter. Getting the rest of the stuff completely off my arms and face took about 5 days as I had to wait until the skin peeled off and replaced itself. I tried nail varnish remover, WD40, everything I could think of but nothing worked. All in all, an absolute nightmare!
Immediately I sent an email to Siroflex customer service complaining about this faulty product and received an automated response saying that their offices were closed for 2 weeks but that they would deal with my email promptly on their return. Of course they didn't and I had to write again 3 weeks later.
At their request I then sent photos and then they asked for the almost full can back for examination. They did arrange for someone to collect it but only on the basis of "sometime between 9am and 5pm" which meant that someone had to stay in all day waiting for them
Several weeks later I got another email stating: "The labs have advised that the pipe had not been completely screwed onto the valve and as a result, when force was applied on the trigger, the pipe snapped. I hope this helps to explain why you experienced a problem with the can of foam."
I will state now that the pipe was attached as far as it would go (I am a big, strong guy) and this rude reply is the best they could come up with. No apology, offer of a refund, replacement, or even a return of the nearly full can which I sent them.
I wrote back to protest at this peremptory, dismissive, offensive reply pointing out that I had attached the pipe properly, that I did not accept their verdict, and demanded that the can be returned immediately, as it was evidence, whilst I considered taking legal action for damages.
I then received a reply from the Managing Director supporting the findings of the laboratory which apparently was in Romania, offered no apology and was patronizing in the extreme merely offering me a can of any of his products “as a gesture of goodwill”.
Over the course of the next few weeks there were a number of emails between us and I continued to demand the return of my property (the used can) so that I could have it tested independently. The Managing Director continually refused to return it saying that it had cost £234 to send it to Bucharest and would cost the same amount to get it back and “he was not prepared to pay it”. Clearly this was utter nonsense and I also pointed out that it was his staff who wanted the can from me for testing not the other way round. The inference is that they don’t have the can anymore but won’t admit it.
The end result is that the Managing Director now ignores my emails and to this day I have not received any compensation, apology, or the return of my property, thereby denying me the opportunity to prove that the company may be liable for damages.
My advice to anybody who considers buying Siroflex Hand Held Expanding Foam is… DON’T. The stuff is downright dangerous and the attitude of Siroflex’ Customer Service staff right up to the Managing Director is patronizing, arrogant and dismissive of complaints.
