Dont Be Fooled By There Cheap Quote!

The quote I received form this company was substantially lower than my other quotes and on paper it seemed like for like in quality and service so as a local business we decided to go with them. What a mistake this was the quality of products and standard of fitting was awful we have had to redecorate areas around where the new windows that had been fitted and to be honest the windows just seemed to have been thrown in with no care or attention to detail. This unfortunately falls into the category of you pay for what you get and in this instance that's what we got!! a BIG mistake!!

Joyful Joyful

We had two bedroom windows and a conservatory fitted.

The windows were the first to be fitted, the fitters were extremely polite and knew what they were doing, they put a protective layer over the stairs and bedroom floor carpets to stop any mud from being dragged through the house and when the job was done they cleared away any mess they made. extremely pleased with the finished product widows look great very happy customer.

The conservatory was next, a father and son team came to dismantle my old tired conservatory not an easy job to do, they quickly put up the new frame and kindly weather proofed the area due to no roof on yet ,and a good job they did because it rained during the night, the following day they arrived nice and early to put the glass in and roof on. The final day they sealed the conservatory Job done. The conservatory looks fantastic they done a brilliant job we are extremely happy with their work and what made it a really good experience was they were very professional cleared away after themselves and they were two of the nicest people to meet and chat too. Cheers guys you really made the experience enjoyable despite being a Man U fan

Also I would like to thank the sales rep who I dealt with, he was extremely polite and kept in touch via email or phone and most importantly he didn't force the sale onto me and make me feel uncomfortable unlike safestyle rep who I had to drag out the door because I wouldn't commit to the sale which is why I decided to go for a local firm Alan joy windows.

Cheers Alan joy windows team for a pleasant experience.

How Many People Does It Take To Measure A Window??

Biggest problem they have is communication - & that's a worry.

Fitter didn`t bother passing on his measurements/survey to the sales man who promptly turned up the following day having received no contact.

I then got a phone call to ask if another bloke can come out and measure the window because he couldn`t decipher the first fitters figures. Here`s a tip - speak to him and ask !! 3 Stooges come to mind - speak no, say no, see no.

Alan Joy Windows - A Joyless Experience

Alan Joy Windows - a joyless experience

We used Alan Joy to replace the windows in our 4 bedroom detached house. We chose Alan Joy because neighbours opposite had used them a few years ago, not only did their windows look really nice but they also appeared to be top quality.

We had a number of quotes prior to choosing Alan Joy but made our decision based on the work we had seen and on negotiating a good price. We also wanted to use a local firm for the work. We did get quite a few phone calls and emails soliciting for the work from Alan Joy but just put this down to the financial climate.

What we didn't realise when we were negotiating on the price was the fact that as Alan Joy agreed to price reductions they were also reducing the quality and appearance of the windows. For example to quality of the frosted glass and more particularly the quality of the glass in the front door was very basic with no real choice of design, we decided that this would have to be acceptable. We had Georgian Bars fitted, our original windows had a curve in them but Alan Joy did not do this, once again we accepted this, hindsight now shows that these were a couple of warning signs that we should have heeded.

Initially things went well with a speedy and clean fitting service, however, once fitted there have been significant problems with the windows and the level of service offered by Alan Joy has, so far, been awful.

We had Georgian Bars put in the windows at the front of the house, not one of the bars match in height making the whole appearance of the windows look shoddy. There are three windows across all the main windows, none of these match in height which makes the windows look cheap. There is some slight damage to the front door as well.

The real problems have happened once these issues have come to light and we are trying to negotiate with Alan Joy, the attitude from Alan Joy has been appalling and arrogant to say the least, when we said we would have to take the matter further we were told 'Good luck with that' and that seems to encompass the companies attitude toward the customer. I have asked repeatedly for things to be put officially in writing and to deal with a member of staff at a higher level within the company, this has been ignored or rejected.

Alan Joy knew that we wanted quality windows and that we liked the fit of the windows in the house opposite. What they have done is not only to provide windows that are unacceptable with Georgian Bars all at different heights but they have also fitted windows that do not match in height giving an overall appearance of being cheap. Alan Joy have agreed to replace the pains of glass so that the bars do at least match but have refused to do anything about the height of the windows.

Of course, the cost of replacement windows is not cheap and we will not be able to replace them again in a hurry so it looks very much as if we are left with windows that we are very unhappy with and a service that has been nothing like the service promised.

We simply cannot recommend Alan Joy windows and can only suggest that if you are thinking of using them be very, very careful and make sure you get a very detailed spec before going ahead. We have no way of knowing about the actual quality of the windows but our fear is that they are not of the same quality that other firms would have provided.

We do know that if you have a problem with Alan Joy you will not be treated a a valued customer, if our experience is anything to go by you will be treated with contempt, arrogance and rudeness. All we can say is that Alan Joy do not appear to care about their customers once they have secured that sale.

Should have gone to Safestyle!... a very expensive lesson learned

Sorry - 'should have gone to Safestyle' was meant to be a joke!

Alan joy windows-it was a joy purchasing a conservatory from alan joy windows the whole experience went like clockwork from start to finish all tradesmen were polite and tidy there work was second to none.It was built on time we now have a top quality conservatory to be proud of.With many thanks to alan joy and their staff mr & mrs oxenham.

May I ask why you recommend Safestyle? This seems very odd as the reviews for them are awful. It seems strange that a negative review is followed by a recommendation for a company you do not appear to have used. Or am I wrong?
