Inept

When ordering "Top Hat" conservatory, I was told existing walls would not be altered and that my current floor would be protected. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN!! They did alter the walls, moving my door about 10cm to the left. No reason was given for this. This has left a hole in my floor at one end and they have actually laid bricks on the laminate floor on the other side. I have photos, and so has the project manager.

They also loosened a block on the inner skin wall when fitting the windows, of which he and I took photo’s. This sometimes happens, which I accept. What I don’t accept is that it is still loose, and is held together with plaster as they did not fix the issue before the plasterer arrived.

They also ripped my gate off its hinges to get the cement mixer in. They did not ask me if they could remove it – and I was in at the time. A couple of the screws had rounded so they literally ripped it off. I was promised new hinges. I am still waiting!

There was a problem with my electrics, so I phoned to speak with the project manager. This was an urgent problem as the plasterer was due to plaster over the electrics 2 days later. Again, no contact until after the plastering had been done. I had to fork out extra to sort the issues the day before!

Communications were horrendous throughout, where at one point 6 weeks went by with no work being carried out. I had to chase them.

Finally, I sent in an email of complaint on 22nd September. The project manager rang me straight back. We discussed the issues where he tried to play them down. I asked him why the walls had been altered and he didn’t have an answer. I told him I was half way through writing a Trustpilot review, and he then twisted this and accused me of Blackmail!! After he realised that his intimidating conduct would not work on me, the conversation became a little more civil. He asked me to hold off putting this review on Trustpilot whilst he made enquiries, and again promised to ring me back. The date now is 4th November. I still have no answers and still have a hole in my floor, bricks laid on laminate, a loose block behind plasterwork and a gate that does not close properly.

I have read the good reviews – I am pleased for you!! However if there are any issues regards the work, you are on your own with this company!!

We were recommended by a friend to contact Pennine located in Apsley Huddersfield when looking for new windows and doors.

Got the quote which was very competitively priced with a good selection to choose from.

The doors and windows were fitted on the day as arranged. They arrived on time and did a fantastic job.

Polite, professional and effecient. They put down protective covers, hoovered up after themselves and took the old doors and windows away.

I am thrilled with the results, quality product with first class service from start to finish

Should Be Closed Down

Pennine Home Improvements (now changed their name to Pennine Windows) have the most diabolical record for Customer Service. I had some windows fitted then went on to have patio doors - BIG MISTAKE!!!!!

The patio doors had to be replaced as they did not fit correctly and had lots of faults, it took 4 months to get this done. The replacement doors were still faulty and I had over 12 visits from fitters to put this right but I was advised to ask for replacement yet again. I finally took them to the small claims court to get my money back and I was granted the court order but in the meantime they had changed their name which meant I would have to pay another £50 to get the name changed on the order. They ignored the court order and I was told if I wanted to send the bailiffs in it would cost another £100. I decided to cut my losses but please be warned about this company as they change their name every time they are in debt. I think it's disgusting that something cannot be done by law to stop Pennine from doing this.

Window:three Attempts To Install, Still Not Right!

In Feb I had a replacement door and window fitted by Pennine Home Improvements. The door came with the wrong handle and no door number. The window did not fit and had to be filled in temporarily with plastic strips. The whole unit was left unsealed and draughty while they ordered another window.

I asked for adjusted price, in writing too. but no one with authority to do this got in touch. I was told a manager would visit. This didn't happen.

The new window was installed a week or so later, along with door handle and number. But the fitter did not clean the window, it was left smeary, I paid what I thought was fmore than fair (£1700) rather than the £2200 they charged. I sent a letter saying that if they didn't agree, to let me know within 4 weeks.

I heard nothing, then 5 weeks later got a threatening letter demanding payment. I paid under duress.

Have since noticed that a huge smeary mark does not wash off because it is inside the unit. Pennine agreed to change it. They came with a new unit, but it had been cut to the wrong size, so could not be fitted! I have asked for compensation, they refuse. I have to wait in a 4th time to get my window sorted. Am awaiting a new date.

Pennine overcharge, and do not provide the service they promise. This job should have taken half a day, Very disappointing that they don't bother to check measurements, door hardware, and quality of units. Shabby too that they did not even clean the window they fitted and left it smeary, hiding the faults.

They Do Not Care

PENNINE WINDOWS AND CONSERVATORIES Conservatory fitted Sept 2010 still unuseable 2015 was purchased for an Autistic child for his trains this was explained to all parties involved after 22 original faults we got it down to 1 the floor sunk and was cracked , Pennine we're not interested they replaced floor 3 times and then refused to do any more as they had been paid , now 2015 they have been and relaid the floor and it is an absolute disgrace I hope people read this before they order as they are one of the most incompetent companies I have come across and I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered it , but I ordered through Orchard conservatories it was fitted by Budget and it's now Pennine who are dealing or not dealing with it , nearly 5 years down the line with no resolution in sight and just get fobbed off again and again and been called a liar and that the floor is level if I could post photos no one would ever use them again Please please please be aware they talk the talk but can not walk the walk , spend your well earned money elsewhere or you will regret it !!!!!!!

Worst Company I've Ever Dealt With They Do Not Care

this company promised me the best hassle free gable fronted conservatory and from day one it was a nightmare!!! Roof leaked which they knew about for 5 days!!! They only contact you when they want money!!! Had too many problems to mention in this review!! At the minute water is coming into all the plasterwork and they said no one can come out until Monday!!! That's 3 days of heavy rain!!! Totally failed on everything they promised. This is going to trading standards as they just do not care

Zero Customer Service

Here we are in 2014 and nothing has changed with Pennine Windows. My bathroom window continues to be draughty and lets in the rain. It is 6 weeks plus since I initially contacted the company and have been chasing them up since. I agreed a date this being 07/02/14 morning and stayed in all day and no-one came.

The following Monday I contacted them again and have heard nothing since.

Clearly new customers have priority and existing customers appear to be a nuisance.

They Just Don't Care

Had a new front door and frame fitted (if you can call it that) in 2010 by Pennine. Drafts through the door from day one, Oct 2011 noticed a crack forming on door frame, called Pennine at least 20times between Oct and Dec 2011 always same answer "engineer coming to look" or "engineer has been and taken photo's" this goes on until June 2012 when they came with a new frame which the door didn't fit properly as they hadn't measured it properly, now Nov 2012 they are far too busy to come and sort out so now expecting another cold/unsecure house this winter. They are a shambles and need to be closed down.
