We wanted a local double glazing for a significant refurbishment/high spend – we chose them as they are Which Trusted Traders (how????).

The positives are the install that has been done while it took longer than planned and there were a few snags in context of coming out of covid was very good and the windows / doors of a high quality - also did some chopping out bricks very tidily - likewise the sales pitch was sensible not heavy. Pricing on the windows fair but they keep throwing extras in.

Negatives is almost one year on we still have not had the facias and gutters completed. There have been numerous fitting appointments that did not happen, the sub-contractor blaming Starglaze and vice versa. Their quotes are not complete either, on the windows they did not sort an electrician for where there was a chop out - telling us the day before. The facias/gutterings have been a complete joke, delays in surveying, then discovering the quote was wrong as they didn't update the second survey, now last week we were told actually did we sort out scaffolding out for facias and gutterings – I had to chase them again to get a reply on this (more cost they had not included).

Hours and hours of calls, countless emails, churn of their staff who are always going to go to managers but nothing happens.

In theory next week we have an install but I fear we may see the resurrection before this outfit can actually just do what we have paid months ago for. Avoid them.

Four attempts to replace kitchen window, numerous cancellations (appointment for today just cancelled) poor quality products. Dreadful company

The front door is a decent product, but the experience and utter lack of customer care is appalling, I wouldn't even give them 1 star but the site makes the minimum a 1 star option. They came and ripped out the old door and when I say ripped out that sums it up, I mean it, they caused damage which later they didn't feel they needed to compensate for. I will include the email I sent to them.

Dear StarGlaze I have your final invoice but after what has happened with the door being fitted so poorly that we had to sit in the cold for a week, burning fuel just to keep warm as the wind was blowing through the very poorly fitted door, the pure inconvenience of having to take time off work to accommodate your Engineers attending the property, one day not even turning up at all and every other planned appointment not being meet and times changing on the day, this on every occasion. Even today he came at 10.00 and we had arranged 13:00 to 15:00. I can list all the times if required of arrangement and actually attending, not once have these arranged times been meet. Even on the second fit of the door, this was arranged for after 12:00 and we were phoned on the day once I was at work, saying the Engr needed to attend at 09:30, meaning that once again I was forced to arrange cover last minute at my own work. The fact that I need to redecorate due the poor workmanship of the Engr that did the first fitting of the front door. It wouldn’t of been so bad but he stuck that huge surround on and ruined the paint and surface, this to hide the plaster that he had broken during the first fitting.

On the first install nothing was sealed, hence the very cold week. Even a major Steel re-enforcing bar was missed out so the whole things rattled and moved when closing the door. Part of the frame was broken, badly sawn joints , just a mess here are a few of the pictures taken. Were were left in this state for a week even though they were shown these pictures on the day. They did eventually return and fit it correctly a week later. They offered us a paltry £50 compensation payment and would not budge on that.

Do not use, there are far better companies out there.

Pleased with the overall finish and the final product but it took a long while to get to a point where we were satisifed. The main issues were quality control at the factory which resulted in 2 new patio doors and a new window ledge. The fitters were, in the main, very helpful but they were not as careful as they could have been in fitting the windows requiring the beading to be replaced on the majority of the windows. There were also issues with having to replace damaged glazing. There was also an issue with not enough of the right components being given to the fitters so one window was put in twice (which caused more issues with damage to the glazing).

The company was very helpful in resolving all these issues but this took some time as various pieces needed to be re-manufactured.

Great service from all the team. Good salesman. Not pushy, very down to earth. Very polite fitters. Clean and efficient . Excellent phone communication. Great price. Will use Starglaze again

Our old windows had been in the house since it was built 20 years ago - it was so cold and draughty.

Since the windows have been fitted, the house has been so much warmer and quieter.

I was really impressed with the way the fitters worked - kept everything clean and tidy.

The only gripe; we've had to call someone out 3x since installation to fix some small issues with sticking doors.

Overall, happy with the service.

Very pleased with starglaze overall, especially the fitters and surveyor. Surveyor did go to billers address rather than place being fitted but once arrived at correct address was easy to deal with and I discussed options with him on 2 additional windows to be fitted since I knew after looking online there were sizing constraints.

Starglaze fitters created very little mess and fully cleaned up after themselves, very pleasant to deal with. Only 1 small nick in one of the pvc windows that I've not had the concern to chase up.

Had discrepancy between online price range and what they tried to charge in showroom which is a bit odd but got them down close to amount but still had to pay more. Online price range is not explained anywhere. I still don't think you should have to haggle between the online price for this since you have to order in showroom anyway.

Windows fit well. Had a bit of a nervous time beforehand as wooden lintel needed replacing but I couldn't remove it myself to see thickness etc. Fitters removed it so I could take to timber yard for replacement whilst they got on with other windows, they made it fit and fitted the window. Siliconed around all windows. The windows have really changed the look of the building so very happy and exactly what I ordered.

Spend 6 months researching a window company that would supply and fit flush casement windows. Thought Starglaze could do this but wrong. Waited 9 weeks even though I told them I was living with unsecured boarded up windows. Not interested and no effort to get the lead time reduced. On the day of installation two cretins turned up to install the windows. One was not with them as it was damaged and being dealt with in the factory. The ordered white handles were chrome, the glazing had scratches and dust inside, the gaskets were pinched and the grey colour on the upvc was chipped and scratched in four locations. Up shot is Starglaze refuse to remove the windows and rectify them at the factory and they are only interested in getting their final payment. They trade under the German name Sternfenster giving the impression they are quality. The only thing quality with my windows are the fact they are £3200 happier receiving my money and laughing at me behind my back. Their attitude from fitters to installation manager to customer service is take it or leave it. Be warned!

After much deliberation we decided to replace our old 1960s front door with a picture window. The door was never used as we have other doors which are used and it was just an unsightly and dated part of the house. After consulting with a very helpful and knowledgeable member of the team we planned the look and eagerly awaited the installation.

The installation was done extremely professionally, you hardly knew he was there, he removed the old door and frame and took that for disposal. The cleanup afterwards was impeccable.

The window with its beautiful patterned glass has totally transformed my hallway and brought my home into the 21st Century. Thank you Starglaze!

When Starglaze turned up yesterday to do our patio doors, back windows and back door, there was only one fitter to do the job. We really thought he was going to struggle to get the job done and thought he would have to return the next day but he did a fantastic job and after getting everything done, he went the extra mile and put our blinds back up for us. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We are very happy with the work and would recommend Starglaze to anyone. Thank you.
