Shocking Company

What a terrible company. Zero respect for customers. Empty promises and no goods. Keen to take your money and then shaft you.

My experience using the Yeovil branch has left me gobsmacked. The manager is however, very good at talking nonsense continuously.

Steer clear of this rabble.

Their Contracts Are Meaningless

Avoid this portsmouth based company at all costs.

They provided us with a written quote for doors and windows, we accepted the quote, signed the contract, paid the deposit then 4 weeks before works were due to commence and a month after they'd received the deposit they came back saying they'd mis-quoted and wanted an additional £1,200.

We asked them to honour the contract and quote as it was a legally binding document but they refused. We even offered them as a good will gesture an additional £400 on condition the works were carried out on the initially agreed date. All we received from them was the return of our deposit in the form of a cheque and no response at all to our written communication.

Their conduct was unprofessional and questionable, their customer service is non existent as they refuse to respond to their client. Their contracts are worthless to the client but they expect their clients to honour their side of the agreement. The error was theirs, they admitted this, apologised but refused to honour the contract... definitely not a company we would recommend you do business with.

As far as I know, this company has gone bust since my own review in 2014. One of my panes has '"shot' and cannot get it replaced under the guarantee now...

No Sales Pitch And Reasonably Priced

We decided that we needed new double glazing as several of the window panes on our three bed semi were "shot". I had previous bad experience with coldseal several years ago, where my partner and I were subjected to the usual harsh sales pitch. I did not want to go through that experience again.

I was aware of the window store as I had a back door fitted by them a year or so before. The window store are based in Wolverhampton and the proprietor is called Peter.

I rang tws for a quote and Peter came out. He priced up 9 Windows that we wanted replacing . He quoted £2400, which I thought was very reasonable. There was no sales pitch or pressure, which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age. Peter left the quote with us. I made further contact and stated I was happy to proceed. We decided on white upvc double glazing, which is industry standard.

Approx 6 weeks later, two fitters arrived. They fitted the Windows in a day and a half. The process was quick and the fitters cleared up after themselves.

We have now had the Windows about a fortnight. They look fresh and we are happy with the overall job. There were a couple of tiny flaws in one of the frames, but nothing to worry about.

My only other gripe would be that the company are not very good at communicating. I emailed them direct 3 times, but had no reply, though Peter did text me.

All in all, I would recommend the window store to anyone that wants quality Windows at a very good price and with absolutely no sales pitch. If they can just improve on their communication then they will be perfect!

Just a further edit on my original review. I think this company has now closed down. I had one of my windows with condensation on the inside. Unfortunately the guarantee did not cover if the business ceased. Had to pay another firm to replace. I think in future I will use a more established company.
