Hi Well We Bought The Hardwood Conservatory Back I
hi well we bought the hardwood conservatory back in 1985/86 it has served us well, but it is time to renew it, some wood is rotten and some seals on the windows have gone but it has done us well, we even got a free drill and that is still going strong. When replacing it we will look at wicks conservatories again.

We Have A Wickes Pvc Conservatory, Well Only 2.4 X
we have a Wickes pvc conservatory, well only 2.4 x 2.4 metres ( lean to ) and all the parts were delivered earlier than the 6 week estimate and assembled that very day. The only downside we have is the contractor who installed it. After 3 extra visits on-site to rectify leaks we still have issues with water ingress through to sitting room. The contractor has used plenty of silicon sealant to probably seal off 25 million swimming pools, well sort off but hey--- if you don't build as per the instructions then it won't work. All i can add is that we are happy with our conservatory but the construction experts!!( Rosewood,Sunderland) will not even answer our calls and fix the errors of their ways.--they seem to believe that manufacturer/supplier instruction for installation was written by baffoons in smoking jackets and slippers...or words to that effect

Bought The " Hardwood" Model And After 3 Years Of
Bought the " hardwood" model and after 3 years of okay use, I have just noticed that one of the wood part of an opening windows has developed some kind of soft rot internally. The outer is very well protected with proprietary weather sealer and it seems that the wood was originally infested with some hungry bug that has eaten only the inner part without showing any sign of exiting the wood as there are no holes.I wil be interested how wickes 15 yr guarantee looks after me.Wish me luck.
I Bought A Wickes Box-gutter Conservatory In April
I bought a Wickes box-gutter conservatory in April 2008 (not the one I wanted originally but was told I didn't have a choice) and it is still in my garden in bits following a catalogue of errors and disappointments.
When originally delivered it had no doors (they hadn't been ordered). Then, when my builder arrived to erect it, bits were missing.
When we finally got around to erecting as per the instructions the window frames split on 3 out of 4 panels fitted.
Parts were replaced but they have subsequently split also and to compound the problems the panels that are still sealed up to proptect them against the elements have now become stained by large dark brown marks.
An engineer is supposed to be calling to look at the problem.
My builder is of the opinion that the whole thing is sub-standard and not fit for purpose. Perhaps that's why Wickes no longer sell conservatories and the manufacturer, BVC, has gone bust.
I'd be interested in other people's tales of Wickes conservatories. Mine is now 15 months old and has never been put together.
