At Lastpaint Stripping Made Easy
Had a 1930s front door with goodness knows how many layers of paint(lead) on it. With a great deal of skeptisism I bought the Home Strip and applied a liberal layer. Left it for 1 hour and then used a metal scraper. I was amazed at how easily the paint lifted. No smell and little mess. It did take two more applications to finally complete the job. now have an excellent finish ready for sanding and re-painting. Would highly recommend.

I Bought The Paint And Varnish Remover To Remove A
I bought the paint and varnish remover to remove about 6 layers of tile paint. It took all day but it worked brilliantly, no smell or burning, it just did the job it was suppose to. I would recommend it.

Two Words - Don't Bother
I bought this to remove paint from brick, which it recommended an hour...it says not to leave longer than advised and an hour was the maximum time to leave it on at all.
After about 1 1/2 hours ( I'd been distracted by my baby) I removed it with a pressure washer, nothing had changed.
I contacted the company in complaint and they arranged to ring me to advise me how to use it (I never spoke to them as they didn't ring at convenient times for me), I'm sure this was in good thought however I'm a busy mum - I can read instructions capably and just want a product to work as it says it will without phone calls and hoo-haa.
The e-mail advised that I may need to leave it on longer...although the tub says not to leave on longer than instructed and I'd already exceeded the maximum time.
Today I used up the last of the tub again in a final attempt, I left it on for the whole afternoon, and unsuprisingly there was no change to the paint on my wall.
All in all a waste of time and money.
If it worked it'd be a great price but unfortunately it's a waster of a tenner.
I am really sorry to read this very poor review on our product Home Strip. I would like to start by saying I did call you many times and kindly asked you via email when i would be convenient to call! I left a voicemail also!
I cannot understand your comments about the label? saying the label states not to leave longer than advised! it doesn't! but it does state on part of the label: "For more than 5-6 coats of paint: apply liberally and leave for 1 hour and scrape off, then apply a second coat and leave overnight"
It also states on the label: TRY A SMALL TEST AREA FIRST. and cannot see in this review if you actually tried a small area to see how it performed, then contacted us if you had concerns!
Home Strip paint and varnish remover will remove nearly all types of paint, epoxy, varnishes, poly, acid cured etc etc. I cannot say what paint was on your wall, but feel it would have worked if used properly.
Again I am really sorry you are not happy with our product, but feel you didn't give it a good enough chance.

So Easy To Strip Varnish And No Smell From Solvents!
I contacted Eco Solutions yesterday, 2 May, 2014, with questions about Home Strip. Spoke to a very helpful lady who told me how to find the Home Strip video on the website.
I have a large stained/varnished desk to refurbish. I applied Home Strip to a side section of desk about 12 x 18 inches in size, covered it in cling film, applied Home Strip to another section about the same size, covered it in cling film, and continued with this until the side of the desk was completely covered. I waited 15 minutes, removed the first section of cling film and the stain/varnish scraped off with a paint scraper very very easily. And just continued to remove each section.
Very very pleased with this product.

Amazing!
I can honestly say Home Strip is amazing! I have used many paint removers over the last 20 or so years where I have had to remove paint or varnish from various items.
I saw this product on Twitter through a blog called a passion for homes and purchased from tool station.( got to say they are amazing as well!
Anyway I had some architraves that needed stripping as they were chipping very easily every time the door slammed, and with kids they slammed a lot..I applied Home Strip and left for an hour and it started to blister in places, and only removed one coat. I did some more research and found that it could be applied, covered with plastic film and left overnight. Apparently the plastic film prevents drying out and forces it down removing many layers....Well it did do just that!
I scoured the surface with a steel ball and water which worked well as it got into all the grooves pulling the paint away. It took a few applications but leaving overnight saved me waiting over the job and it did all it's work when I was asleep..
I have also used Home Strip on a varnished floor and this worked much quicker. This product didn't smell, didn't burn my skin and it strips paint?
Read a few negative reviews on here which to be honest not sure why it didn't work for them, as it was so easy to use.

Utter Rubbish
Quite simply, it does not remove artex. Follow the instructions, score the paint, leave 24 hours covered in film. It still will not remove artex. It's interesting that half the reviews on here say it is rubbish and half claim
it to be amazing. Interestingly, many of these posts read like an advert for the product. And use many of the same tips etc, and similar language. Skeptical. Save your money and get your artex plastered over. Incidentally, I particularly like claims I have seen on forums and reviews claiming trade people use this rubbish. Why would they?? It doesn't work, and any trade person would not faff about trying even if it did (takes ages to apply, cover and wait! Could get it plastered in less time and materials would be less!). Honestly, avoid like the plague!
Sorry to hear you had problems using our product, but either you have got the wrong section or you have been using the wrong product to remove artex!
Home Strip paint and varnish remover is designed to remove paint not artex.
Why did you not test a small area before using this product? why did you not call the technical helpline on the label is you were experiencing problems?
Really aggressive review here, which only suggests it could be one of our fellow competitors!

This Product Is Useless For Removing Old Varnished
This product is useless for removing old varnished layers
I am sorry to hear you have had problems using Home Strip but I can assure you that Home Strip will remove all types of varnish and oil and water based paints.
Did you follow the instructions by doing a small test area first? Also the technical helpline telephone number on the label- did you call us?
The only varnish that can create problems is 1920's varnish which does soften and strip but sometimes needs an overnight process to break it down- 1920's varnish was the first early type of polyeurthane, and over the years mainly on dining table tops the sun has baked the finish on making it even harder to remove.
We do appreciate feedback on all of our products and would like to see a more detailed explanation of what the actual issues were, but a phone call to our technical helpline might have been the answer.
If you would like to call us one of our technical staff would be more than happy to help.

Hi
this product has been used around pets with no problems at all, and is PH neutral, so once washed and cleaned afterwards should pose no problems

Not Unpleasant To Use And Did A Good Job
I bought a wooden cabinet with a thick dark varnish. The varnish was so thick that it looked like plastic and I was a little worried it would turn out to be MDF instead of proper wood underneath. I bought a couple of small tubs of Home Strip because I hate the thought of strong chemicals and, as I am asthmatic, those sorts of things tend to affect my breathing. I also bought a springy metal scourer as recommended. Well it took a lot of work over a couple of days but it worked really well and I was pleased with the result.
The smell is quite sweet and not unpleasant, and there were no noticeable fumes to sting my eyes. I didn't get it on my skin as I wore rubber gloves, which I think is always sensible. I haven't tried it on paint, but I would say it is worth a try in preference to scary chemical stuff, as it is not hugely expensive. It isn't magic, you may need to do several coats and put in quite a bit of effort, but I can say it was pretty impressive on the thick varnish.

Better Results With Jiff
Skirting boards are painted white spent a few hours and eventually left overnight, did it work, NO!, RUBBISH.
I am very sorry to hear you had problems whilst using Home Strip. Did you try a small test area first to see how it would react to the paint on your skirting boards?
I am surprised to see that even though you spent the time to write this very negative review (possibly a competitor) you didn't get the time to call our customer helpine which is on the label, and we could have talked you through any issues you might have had.
Home Strip Paint and Varnish Remover is a totally unique and effective product on the market today, and WILL remove all types of oil and water-based paints. In some cases it can soften paint rather than blister, and some users can be fooled thinking that it is not working!
