Whilst Browsing My Local Wilko Last Week For A Few

Whilst browsing my local Wilko last week for a few odds and ends in preparation for my current job I noticed their own brand paint brush restorer and I remembered that I had three decent brushes stuck to the bottom of a plastic pot from a couple of years ago.

I had previously attempted to restore the brushes with a few internet tips, one of which was soaking in hair conditioner! None of which worked.

For £3.07 I thought I'd give the Wilko product a bash.

I left the brushes soaking for 2 days and not the recomended 2 hours because they were stiffer than concrete! After a little bit of plunging in the solution the brushes became soft again.

All that was left to do was to remove the paint from the bristles; the product recommends using a wire brush. About 30 minutes of brushing in soapy water and the bristles are almost as good as new.

Excellent product. Handle carefully though as it's very caustic and not environmentally friendly. Make sure that you can dispose of it responsibly after use.
