Unworthy

Not Recommended

Cost a lot of money but considering our last kitchen lasted for 30 years (and still going strong but wanted a change) this is is much more inferior.

Took months to complete as kept encountering problems which needed attention.

After 5 years plinth all warped and cupboard doors misaligned. This didn’t happen to previous kitchen after 30 years!!

My recommendation - don’t buy from here.

A Botched Job And Terrible Service I Ha

A Botched Job and Terrible Service

I had a space in the corner of my old kitchen for the fridge. Unfortunately when my new kitchen was close to completion I noticed that this space would be almost two inches smaller, which meant that although the fridge was still narrower than the space (just barely) it could not be put back because of a protruding door frame, so I was left with the fridge half way into its space, obstructing the entrance to the kitchen and covering the light switches.

A week later the company ripped out part of the door frame to allow the fridge to go back into its space, and screwed back the door frame, but although the fridge was now where it belonged I could not fully open the door so I could not remove the food baskets fully, and to remover the fridge in future I would have to remove the door frame, so this was clearly not a permanent solution.

I was left in this situation for more than two weeks before I lost my patience and wrote to them insisting that they get on with the job of correcting the error, so they had a look and suggested replacing one unit with a smaller one, which would give me an extra two inches of space, which I agreed to. They had to order the new unit, so a few days later they phoned me to say they would phone me again the next working day to tell me when the work would be done. However the phone call was two days later than I was told to expect it.

The work was finally completed the following week, with the smaller unit installed and the work top reduced, The removed door frame was replaced with a permanent piece of wood and painted, although the wood was rather rough so I had to sand it down, fill the screw holes, and repaint it.

The work was finally completed on day 50. The estimate was a little over 1 week, but even without the botch it would have been two weeks. The company did not keep me informed - I was not told what days the workers would be coming so I was kept waiting needlessly. One day I was expecting someone at 1pm but he arrived at 6. There was never any sense of urgency to get the problem fixed, and I was unable to make plans or do half the things wanted to do because I rarely knew when anything was going to happen.

Although I have now got the kitchen into a satisfactory state, the constant delays and lack of communication on top of the inability to use my kitchen properly for 7 weeks were intensely annoying, and I definitely would not recommend Purple Kitchens. I can't say how wonderful it is to finally have my life back!

What an idiotic comment! If you think that five weeks of delays is acceptable then perhaps you will tell me how much over-run YOU would accept before you started to get annoyed?

I guess that your attitude to your customers is just as apathetic and complacent as theirs.

Wow! Time for you to get a life fella. How pernickety can you get. Not sure what perfect world you'd like to live in, but I know it doesn't exist. So glad I don't work for this kitchen company having to endure customers like you ...
