Don't Use!

Can't believe we let them do our drive.

They talked the talk but did a poor job.

Paving done to a poor standard and they ran out of blocks so finished it by filling gaps with concrete. Then the paving sagged as soon as we drove our car on to it. Naturally they promised to fix it but never returned. Ignoring our calls and a emails.

Delighted

What a delight to hear that Mr Connor has been jailed for conning his customers out of thousands of pounds. Just what he deserves.

Cannot recommend this firm. We employed them in the autumn of 2012 to create a new driveway and walls. Work took longer than promised and was rushed on the last day and left incomplete. Following numerous phone calls the company finally returned, however they failed to complete the outstanding work. The company promised to come back again but never appeared. We found the owner extremely rude and unhelpful. The quality of the work also left a lot to be desired. So much for the 5 year guarantee.

Keyline Cowboys

Dont even think of letting Keyline Paving anywhere near your property. They have left my driveway in a dangerous and unsightly condition despite many phonecalls from me and promises from them. I just wish that I had seen these reviews before taking them on. I cant even get them to finish the job so what chance would I have of them honouring their guarantee. There are many reputable builders out there and Keyline is not one of them.

Avoid Keyline Paving & Son At All Cost.

We employed Keyline Paving and Son to block pave our drive and build gardens walls in August of last year at a cost of £4000.

Whilst carrying out this work one of the workmen cut through the power cable supplying the garage, leaving the wiring in a dangerous condition. They failed to inform us what had happened and we only realised when the sockets in our kitchen were not working. We found the severed ends of the wire on the drive with a stone placed on top, so they obviously knew they had cut the wiring. We called Keyline straight away and the salesman assured us the wiring would be repaired by a qualified electrician. However, the cable was just taped together and when we replaced the fuse the whole house tripped out. We again spoke to Keyline who assured us that a qualified electrician would replace the cable. This took 10 ten days. On the day of the repair, I was assured that the electrician would attend first thing in the morning. He actually arrived at 5pm after I had threatened to have the work carried out myself and charge them for the work.

However, the repair work carried out failed 2 months later in October 2012 tripping out the whole house. We contacted Ronnie Connor of Keyline Paving and Son who promised to send someone over on the following Monday afternoon. We waited in, but no one appeared. We again spoke to Mr Connor and he promised someone would attend on the Tuesday, but again after waiting in no one turned up. Mr Connor then promised that an electrician would attend on the Wednesday. By mid day no one had appeared, so I called Mr Connor and asked him what time the electrician would be calling. He told me between 3.30 and 4.30pm, but yes you guessed it, no one appeared. My husband called Mr Connor on Thursday morning for an explanation, but unfortunately Mr Connor started using abusive language, which I cannot print and he ended the call. We then wrote to Mr Connor to give him the opportunity to rectify the problem before calling in a third party, but he did not respond. We went ahead with the repair and sent Mr Connor the bill by recorded delivery. Again he did not respond.

They claim to guarantee all work for 5 years. We have since contacted Trading Standards to hopefully have their guarantee removed from their invoices as it is misleading customers. We can only advise to steer clear of these people. Do not be taken in by their sales patter. They also like to be paid in cash or a cheque made out to R Connor, not Keyline Paving and Son. If, unfortunately, they have already started work on your property don’t pay them anything until the work is complete. They were supposed to tarmac the front edge of our drive where the bricks meet the pavement, but never returned to do it.

I have recently seen the salesman touting for business in the Heath area of Cardiff, so please be warned.

Poor Workmanship

We had the Marketing Manager Paul call at the door asking if we were interested in having our drive resurfaced. As we were in the process of getting our drive resurfaced we asked for a quote. Paul called regularly asking if we had made up our mind and he seemed genuine had gave such a good sales chat that we gave in and agreed to have the drive resurfaced them keyline paving.

Initially it looked as if they were doing a good job. The old drive was dug up and was taken away. We have had bricks put around the edge, a new step built and the drive resurfaced with tarmac. The bricky has done a very poor job and the new step is falling apart all the cement has come away and the bricks are loose. The tarmac looks okay but ouf water stopcock has been resited out of alignment and the tarmac has dipped as there is nothing under the area where the stopcock is so eventually that will give way to a hole. The bricks between our drive and next door have not been cemented in so have come loose, cracked and broken. There is a join line on the tarmac which is very noticeable. We are annoyed with ourselves for paying them but initially it looked a good job.

We have tried to contact this company as they assured us it was under a 5 year guarantee and they could be contacted at any time - this is not worth the paper it is written on as they never get back to us.

I can't believe we were taken in by this company but we were but please, please don't use them they have a very good sales pitch and seemed so genuinely a nice company but how wrong can you be - very!!

Our driveway and patio were well layed, and we are pleased with the overall appearance, but that's where the positive comments end. All the company seemed to care about is getting our money and we had to be very firm about not paying up front. Also, we caught one of the workmen urinating into one of our drains.

One year on we have found a design fault with the patio, which is causing a drainage problem. We contacted the company on several occasions and were constantly fobbed off. When we finally managed to speak to the owner of the company on the phone he said the problem isn't covered by the five year guarantee and we would have to pay to have it put right, which we said we would not be doing. Two different people have come out to look at the problem with a promise that it would be sorted out, one even saying they'd send someone later that day, and two months later they still haven't come back.

"Efficient, Friendly Service. All Work Guaranteed for 5 Years" - I don't think so. The only recommendation we'd make is to go elsewhere.

I couldn't agree more. Keyline Paving & Sons should be avoided at all costs. We have had major problems and they will not honour their guarantee. The owner Ronnie Connor became abusive and we have had to involve Trading Standards. We were also left pop bottles of urine discarded in the garden and something even worse in a plastic bag. Please do not waste your money on these people and never pay up front for any work.

Avoid having any work done with these people. They are rude, foul mouthed liars who have no respect for customers or their property. Their so called 5 year guarantee will not be honoured. They do not deserve any stars in this rating.
