My 2nd Gainsborough 10.5se Burn Out
I've replaced this Gainsborough 10.5se shower with the identical Gainsborough 10.5se shower both with same faults after 14 months of moderate use the engine burns out.
I believe it's a manufacturer fault and should be looked in to.
Overall it's a good product but needs to last a few years at least.

Very Powerful For An Electric Shower
This is the most powerful electric shower you can buy at 10.5 kw although if your existing shower is less powerful you will need to upgrade the shower supply wiring. For an electric shower this is excellent although not, of course, as powerful as a shower supplied from a Combi boiler. I bought this to replace my existing (identical) shower as it had developed a fault which meant it started to "boil" after it was switched off and had to be quickly switched back on again for a moment before switching it off again. However, it was 9 years old, so I consider this not unreasonable. I bought an identical replacement to make it nice and simple to fit it as the water connection options and electrical connections are still the same. I thoroughly recommend this shower.

Worst Customer Service In The World
Purchased as a replacement for an existing Gainsborough shower and the new one was faulty.
Tried a number of times to contact customer support but could not get through as they were "busy with other customers"
Emailed and got an automated response but no follow up call.
I returned the shower to Gainsborough
After 4 weeks and quite a considerable amount of emails I Was told they didn't receive it, even though I had proof of it being signed for.
Eventually I was informed that they would refund the the cost of the shower but not the postage.
I wouldn't recommend any of their products due to the Total lack of Customer Care.i have purchased a Triton and it worked first time.

Ok If You Are Due To Sell Your Home Within 2 Years!
Bought a 8.5 shower and then a 10.5 replacement engine after the 8.5 died ( it only lasted just shy of 3 years) bought the 10.5 engine in November 2011 and no one at Gainsborough told me of the incompatibility between the shower heads of the two models at the time of purchase and problems ensued. I was charged £67 call out fee and the price of a new shower head. Now the 10.5 has died after 2 years and 5 months. Unlike many places selling showers they only offer a standard 1 year warranty unless you pay for it. This is a great shower for anyone doing up a house and planning to sell it on but if you are planning to live in your home, don't buy Gainsborough, they don't last.

Delux 10.5 Replacement Shower Engine
This item arrived today , promptly as advised .the replacement engine was in double strong cardboard packing , and arrived in excellent order. It was simple for electrician to install took about 10 minutes. After installing I couldn,t wait to try it out . Wow! ,Super enough power to reach the back of the shower with ease . The water was very warm and adjustable far below the setting of the old one. I would say I have an excellent shower again . Thanks Gainsborough and Aqualisa products..

This Shower Looks Good And Performs Very Well. But....
This shower looks great and performance is all you could ask for, but if anything goes wrong you have to buy a complete new inside which is just as expensive if not more than buying a new one. Now that is a great shame! You can be throwing away a unit which is still 99% perfect into a landfill site. Now that is disgracefull! What about the environment!
The only working spare part that you can buy is the PRD ie the small pressure relief device which will pop if the rose gets blocked. You can also buy a new rose.
You cannot expect it to last more than 2 to 3 years. Now that's a pity!
I bought Gainsborough because the previous showers I bought had lasted 15 to 20 years.
This one is a different design.

I've Had A Gainsborough 9.5e Shower Fitted For Les
I've had a Gainsborough 9.5E shower fitted for less than six months - first experienced problems with the temperature dial needing to be constantly raised to maintain warm water (it's now at maximum, and not very hot) and now there's a serious loss of pressure and water flooding out of the casing (pressure valve gone). It's a small and sleek unit which is otherwise easy to use, but I'm not impressed. It seems none of these units last more than a few months.

I Have Had Two 10.5kw Showers Fitted Both Fa
I have had two 10.5kw showers fitted both failed within 6months. Both showers blew the pressure relief valves. Plumber checked the mains water pressure which was within the specified range. Replaced both relief valves and the valves failed within 1month. Showers are not fit for purpose. Last time I would purchase a Gainsborough shower
This is a very unfair comment and reflects a total misunderstanding of how the shower works.
The pressure relief valve is there to protect the shower. The reason it pops is when there is a blockage at the rose. Either clogged or someone's hand (like my polish tennent).
When a fuse blows its not a faulty fuse board but the operation of a protective device.

Bought A New Gainborought 9.5e And Had It Professi
Bought a new Gainborought 9.5E and had it professionaly installed . The elctrican told us that we would be lucky if it ran for a year if regulary used more than once daily. He said he gets call out all the time to sort out electric shower problems , and Gainsborought were top of the list by a long stretch for breakdown. He said that they are not worth fixing and suggested should the shower give problems to simply bin it and replace with a quality brand. The plumber who plumed in the shower also told a simlar story decribing Gainborought as like cheap electric kettles , in that you would be luck to get a full years use out of it should a small family use it daily. We had the shower for exactly 7 months when it started to run cold , got the electrican back (same guy) tested it said the motor unit was gone, just like he told us wwhen we bought it that it would go bust in a short time. We binned it an installed a top brand , and its still going strong after 3 years and thats with a family of four useing it daily. Be warned Gainsborought are expensive nasty cheaply built electric showers only built to last a short time. Martin Connoly.

We,ve Had Our Gainsborough 10.5 Es Electric Shower
We,ve had our Gainsborough 10.5 es electric shower for 16months and paid £33 for the extra cover, but Gainsborough customer care line at first tried to diagnose the fault over the phone! then said we would have to pay for parts and were unable to help regarding this problem. I'm discusted with them and will never buy a Gainsborough shower again.
