Incredibly Disappointing

We ordered a $2100 king size wooden bed frame from Get Laid Beds and had a really disappointing experience. Writing this review to save others from making the same mistake. Avoid this company. They do not care about their customers.

The company is in the UK, but they ship to the US. We are in the US, so even with paying for the 'express' option the bed took roughly four weeks to arrive. Unfortunately 7 of the 12 boxes got completely damaged during shipping. Two of the boxes were damaged so badly that DHL had to repackage them.

Normally this wouldn't be a big deal right? Because the company properly packed the boxes with bubble wrap, styrofoam, or or other protective material? Think again. Get Laid Beds didn't put a single piece of protective material in the boxes... they literally put a $2100 wooden bed inside cardboard, zero protection, and shipped it across the world. I have never seen anything like it in all my life.

Naturally we had dozens of pieces of wood that were dented, chipped, cracked, broken. I immediately sent photos of everything to customer service.

Chasing customer service was unpleasant and frustrating. I think I reached out to them close to two dozen times, and rarely heard back without contacting them 2 or 3x. They gave me three very mediocre options in the end, each more disappointing than the last.

1) Repack all the boxes and return the bed (we just waited a month for this bed that we were excited about while we slept on the floor

2) Spend hours cataloging every piece of damage with photos, identifying which piece is which, and waiting 4 weeks for them to replace the individual damaged pieces (while we have zero confidence the new pieces wouldn't arrive damaged, meaning 8+ weeks waiting for our bed and sleeping on the floor

3) A highly insulting offer to keep the damaged bed, and receive a laughable $150 credit.

I wish I had read all the other negative reviews online before wasting my time and money dealing with this company. I hope someone learns from my mistake.

I Hate This Company

Horrible- not only did the dang thing break, they gave us too short of inserts for a Cal King and then when I reached out they told me that it's a too bad too sad situation. That they are refusing to help me. Less than 6 months and this bed sucks. It's noisy and fragile. RUN! Do not buy!

Customer service is downright rude and beyond ridiculous. They love to blame everyone else but themselves.

A Joke

I just talked to an agent from Getlaid bed and explained to her that the floating platform bed that was sent to us was poorly designed, cracked, and could not hold the 1000 pounds that they claimed it could. It can't even hold us (400 pounds with mattress) without sinking on my husband's side.

There's no support bar across the normal 10 weak slats that they provide.

The funny response of this lady is that they want a video of the sinking and the bed cracking noise. Very interesting, not very practical to make.

To install this bed was pretty much a nightmare since the instructions are terrible and wrong. They want you to place one slat by the headboard, one in the middle and one at the end of the bed. They give you 10 slats. Guess what? You now have to halves where you should be able to spread your left over slats (7). That doesn't work. You will have 3 and 4 slats to place on the halves. Your slats will not be spread evenly. We had to figure it out on our own.

Honestly, this is a nightmare and we paid $1600 for a bed that I doubt they will take back. DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!!!!!!

Low Quality Product With Terrible Customer Service

Customer service told me to throw the bed away because they will not issue a refund. That is the value this company places on its own products. If you don't like it, just throw it away. That should tell you something.

From customer service:

"You do not have to ship anything back to us.

We cannot offer a refund so please do dispose of the frame yourself."

They just ship you a bunch of pieces of beat up, inconsistently measured and damaged wood in many separate packages with no instructions or tools. If you’re a skilled enough carpenter to "assemble" this and already own your own industrial strength drill then you should just go buy some lumber and build a bed yourself, save a thousand bucks.

Just Don't

First it was missing instructions, then it was missing half the pieces (apparently lost in delivery - like the instructions?), then it turns out when you order a box to go under a bed you don't even get one that fits. It's been a total waste of time and money (they're not cheap), I would love both back and to be rid of this bed but unfortunately that's not an option as returning the items costs more money and I can't stand the prospect of having to have any further dealings with this company. To add to it customer service is patronising and unhelpful. Much better not buy in the first place.

I thought I should add (because I don't know how to edit) that they did try to resolve my last issue with the box that doesn't fit by sending me some additional box pieces. However these were much smaller than what I wanted so I still ended up spending a half day in the studio sawing the original pieces and recreating joints. Not ideal. But I appreciate the gesture.

Advertised Delivery Promise Keeps Being Broken

Specified a delivery date of 19 Nov and have been continually pushed back ever since, with no sign of a delivery in sight. Rescheduled original delivery date and for the latest delivery attempt I took appropriate leave from work to accommodate them, only to be told after 5pm they have to head back to their depot. After paying them for a bed and mattress I feel like an inconvenience adding to their problems rather than a customer who has had delivery promises broken time and again. No idea what state my bed will be in when it eventually arrives after being loaded and shipped unsuccessfully so many times. Tried to call customer services manager to ask about the redelivery option he emailed, but unfortunately ‘he’s in a meeting’ for the next few hours...

Who's In Charge?

Ordered kingsize Chelsea bedframe in white. When it eventually arrived after 5pm, having waited in ALL day, I was really disappointed to see chips and marks all over the frame as the guy assembled it. Luckily I took photos. And then my standard kingsize mattress was too big to fit into the frame, which was made to 145x195 which is not kingsize.

GLB agreed product is faulty and arranged for courier to collect this week. Since then I have wasted a further 2 days precious annual leave this waiting in vain for courier company to come and collect.

There has been no communication from them or GLB, apart from an email late on the first day from GLB telling me couriers were off sick and had left me a message at 11.30 that day to tell me. This was not so, as I'd not had any missed calls or messages on either landline or mobile. This morning I received another automated email from courier company telling me my bed is being delivered - with yesterday's date and time slot on it. I will now have to waste more time this morning by phoning GLB and finding out what the heck is going on.

I wish I'd read more reviews before getting involved with this company as I can see other people have had issues particularly with the delivery and collect arrangements. I would nevertheless use them again.

Very Bad Service

Quality of the bed is ok but I would not recommend to do any business with this company. Their service level is very very poor.

Does Not Deliver!

I have had to cancel my order with GLB, having waited in for 3 consecutive weeks, with no time window (therefore involving 8 am - 8 pm wait) and still have not received my bed!. Staff did not return many of my emails and phone calls, and are having to deal with deluge of irate customers due to logistics issues with GS Logistics. DO NOT ORDER from this company - to date, these issues have not been resolved. I am awaiting a refund, having been informed that phone staff themselves, and customers, cannot have direct phone number for their accounts department.

Good Build, Horrible Customer Service And Cosmetic Quality

I ordered a California King Kensington Bed in ash. The bed is a solid build; all wood, very heavy. The one star is the customer service and the end quality control of the product. I ordered the bed on 2/5/18 with a delivery date of 2/17/18. That was a Saturday, which they charge extra for a weekend delivery. On 2/15/18 I was told the short rail (width of the bed) came out too dark and so they had to delay shipment until the 26th. Then on the 20th I revived an email saying it would be delayed until March 5th because of a fire in the supply mill. On the 23rdi received an email

I’d receive it on the 26th. After waiting at home all

Day for the delivery (because they are closed during waking hours on the west coast and you can’t get a definitive from their ups) it never showed. So I contacted them on the 27th they said it was a mistake and I wouldn’t get it until the 5th. So I took the day off on the 5th and it showed up on the 2nd.

Now to give everyone a heads up. The headboard is three seperate pieces of wood. It’s not one. This is where it’s a dice roll apparently. Mine showed up quite a bit darker in the middle piece and it really stands out. Now you would think that since my order was delayed for the short board being too dark that they would make sure none of the headboard pieces were too dark either. But apparently mine fell within the acceptable limits as I’m told “ash dramatically varies in colour” well I get that. But at least get it closer for the headboard since you made a delay for the short board, which as you can see is quite loud. So now I have essentially a striped headboard as the darker piece is right in the middle. In all this has been incredibly frustrating, because it took a week just to get back the response that they won’t even try to replace the middle piece and they still haven’t refunded my weekend delivery fee since it wasn’t delivered on a weekend and delayed a couple weeks.

I’ll find a place to post pictures, as I thought I could here. What’s funny is even after sending these complaints and concerns I still get an email 5 days later asking to take part in their contest to post pictures of how happy I am with my bed to get voted to have my bed reimbursed with the most likes. This company’s customer service is so deaf unto itself.
