Strictly Beds & Bunks is the only company I could find that sells simple traditional pine beds, with footboards as well as headboards, in small double width. I really appreciate their commitment to sustainability (FSC certified fast growing wood; no unnecessary chemicals; individual replacement parts available; manufacturing in the UK; minimal packaging; grouping deliveries to different areas etc.) and that they are small British business.

The bed is beautiful, I really like how the wood has different patterns and knots running through it. The beds are very sturdy and a very affordable price. Their customer services team responded quickly and helpfully to most of my questions.

I chose the Athens bed frame, and I am very pleased with it. The reason I have not given five stars is that it was extremely difficult to assemble; I needed two people and a rubber mallet and even then it was a struggle to get the header and footer assembled. The main problem was getting all the vertical ("shaker") slats into the horizontal rails, and then getting those rails slotted into the legs - nothing quite lined up and the dowels were very tight and it was almost impossible to get 18 dowels to slide in at the same time, so I had to push and wiggle and bash them and one bit of wood got slightly damaged in the process. However, I think any of the other styles of headboard would be a lot easier to deal with! The instructions were confusing, with some information repeated and other steps missing. But the assembly process was clear and simple enough in principle, just physically difficult in practice.

Some of the parts arrived with splits in. The instructions explain that this can happen if the wood adapts to different temperatures after inspection and packing, and the customer services team sent replacement parts immediately which arrived the following day. I reckon this could have been be avoided if wood was temperature treated before sending, but I guess that would increase the cost and carbon footprint...

A minor niggle is that some parts had very flaky edges, as though they had been scraped with a saw. But the flakes aren't sharp, and mostly I like the imperfections and it is nice that it doesn't look mass produced. I had fun choosing which way around to put the symmetrical planks to display my favourite knots and hide the scraped bits!

A final very minor niggle is that there were some extra large screws that belonged to a different type of bed and were not needed for mine; and for some reason the replacement slats came with replacement big bolts even though I had these already. I guess this is to do with how the kits are assembled for efficiency. Although this is not a problem for me in practice (better than missing skews), it would be even more environmentally friendly (and a little less confusing) to send only the necessary fittings.

Overall a great bed and a great company!

Ordered the Tango bed. This is a perfect height for my 230cm ceiling as the standard high sleepers are too high. There is space for a den underneath for my daughter where she has a cosy little space to watch TV.

Ordering was straightforward, and the website is very well laid out with lots of information and measurements so you can choose the exact fit for your requirements. Delivery took about a week but I placed my order just before he Easter bank holiday weekend, so might have been a little quicker on a normal week. I was kept informed about the delivery and I could track the driver on the day of delivery which was very helpful.

Assembling the bed was a 2 person job and took us about 3 hours. I would say it's a bit more difficult than IKEA furniture to assemble but the finished product is definitely worth the effort. The bunk feels safe and sturdy and my daughter loves it.

Have done an extensive search for a mid rise bed for my daughter that needed to be under to be under 200cm in length for frame. Strictly bed had exactly what i needed. Not only was the length right it also had mattress single short that could be ordered at same time as well as reasurance of solid wood vs concerns for chipboard seen everywhere else.

The delivery did arrive during school pick up but with "Ring" and a very nice delivery driver, everything was delivered and put away from the rain.

I did initially look at items but minimal as room was needing painting. It was a number of weeks until I actually got round to opening boxes.

Unfortunately one of the headboard pieces had split and was only noticable when putting wooden pegs. For most people, they would reduce star for this, I still would give them full 5 stars as customer service was amazing. Website to prder individual piece perfect and 1st class delivery for single piece of wooden FOC can not be faulted. Had i gone with other companies and an issue had a occurred i doubt i would have even had a response to my email let alone the replacement piece so quickly.

The end result is amazing and my daughter is over the moon.

I ordered the three tier triple bunk bed for my girls aged 7, 5 and 3. It was delivered on time and the delivery man was so friendly and helpful. The bunk bed is very solid, it is good quality and the girls love it. Thank you strictlybedsandbunks for a great product and service!

I researched and looked everywhere for loft beds for my tall and growing teenage boys. I needed loft beds that would be strong and sturdy enough to support them for when they are fully grown adults and also provide a space underneath so that they have their own private space as they share a room. I purchased x2 small double loft beds and they are more than we ever dreamed. So many possibilities on how we will decorate them too. They were affordable and excellent quality. Delivery was quick and professional too. The video really helps when building them. A little tip is to use a strong allen key for the screws bolts as they can only be done by hand and not by an electric screwdriver. The boys and I are so happy. Thank you! This is the second loft bed we have bought from Strictly Beds and Bunks Ltd. They are definitely well built, sturdy and strong. Other high beds tend to wobble and creak but these don't. They are relatively straight forward to assemble, though once or twice it proved better to follow the instructions out of sequence.

All in all I would thoroughly recommend these beds.

I am really pleased with the frame - very sturdy! Instructions for assembly were a nightmare though.

The mattress that came with the frame is very poor. Very soft and you can feel the springs. Had to buy a mattress topper which is too big but better than nothing.

I ordered a replacement mattress for one that was too deep to fit under the newly acquired single bed with truckle. Not many sites provided the dimensions that I needed but Strictly Beds and Bunks did give that information so I could order with confidence. The online ordering process was good, I was kept informed about delivery, and the mattress arrived three days later, exactly as promised.

The mattress itself now fits under the main bed with ease, but has not yet been used so I can't comment on the comfort. It will only be used occasionally by a grandchild so won't get a lot of use.
