Once They Have Your Money They Don't Care

I ordered a fairly small amount of 9 packs of vinyl click flooring from this company and promptly received an e-mail to expect my order in 4 days time. The delivery charge was £35 for speedy delivery. The e-mail stated the delivery would be a "kerbside drop" so I arranged the day off work to make sure it could be moved into the house quickly in case it rained. At the last minute I received a phone call to say it would now be a further 2 days before delivery as the product had not been delivered to them yet. Then another call to say they could only deliver some of the order and the rest later. I arranged another day for this delivery but it never turned up. So in the end it took 12 days and 4 days off work to receive my full order. When I expressed disappointment with this during one of the phone calls I was told to "put it in an e-mail" for them to consider. I sent e-mails but all were ignored. The final twist was the company asked me for a review of their service. Since I have complained I seem to have been blocked from leaving a review so am leaving one here. This will explain the great reviews on their site and the real reviews on this one.

No Customer Service And Dishonest

Ordered from this company because was cheaper than other outlets and website delivery t&cs said they would be able dispatch the next day and delivery would be within a week. At no point during the online ordering process did they suggest that the order was subject to a different time scale. After three days (Thursday) I had not received a dispatch notification I called and was told the item was on it's way and would be with me that day. When it did not arrive I called the next day and was told that the order was subject to special order would come into to them on Monday and be dispatched to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday. As this was holding up my build I cancelled the order. On the phone they said because it was a special order I couldn't cancel, I politely explained that I can cancel my order as they had just said it hadn't been dispatched so there would be no cost to them. I was told to email them with my complaint and so I did on the same day. 5 days later I had received no reply from my email, there had been no attempt to deliver the flooring so they had accepted the cancellation, and no money returned to my account. I emailed again not expecting much. After two more days I opened processes with PayPal to recover my money and they ruled in my favor.

Throughout the entire episode the only communication I received from floors direct was the auto order confirmation email. I have every belief that they had no intention of refunding me without third party arbitration.

Do not use this company!

Appalling Customer Service

Received 24 packs of laminate flooring today, delivered and left on street by courier, who asked me to sign before I realised they weren't being brought to my door (I have a garden) or inside the house. I phoned the company but they were unsympathetic, as their 'small print' advises that their courier delivers to your kerbside or as nearest to your door as possible. The courier did not bring the packages even inside my garden. He told me to 'open the packages and lift them in myself'.This was impossible for me. Appalling customer service.

Don't Touch This Company With A Barge Pole. Fitted

Don't touch this company with a barge pole. Fitted 28 m2 to newly fitted kitchen and conservatory in January 2015 which has blown all over place and white blemishes have appeared all over. Floor has been cleaned as recommended and never had water left standing on it its just sub standard cheap crappie. I've emailed 4 times with pictures attached and rang company 30 plus times but no reply to emails and no management in ever. Have reported to the UK trading standards who are currently helping me with court action to recover cost of removing the floor and refitting new one plus the cost of initial pallet of flooring purchased. Sale of goods act 1979 means nothing to this company but it soon will. Not every customer you ignore will simply go away as you will soon find out.

Really Pleased With Our Floor

I guess everyone has different experiences with damaged goods being delivered. i remember ordering tiles from another website and they came damaged 3 times so sometimes its down to luck. But i found Floors Direct easy and simple to deal with saving a lot of money. my order came perfect!

I found the shade of laminate i was looking for almost half the price from anywhere else. i called them up for some help and suggestions between the two types i short listed and they gave me good impartial advice. the calculator was very very helpful otherwise i would have ran short and would have paid extra for delivery.

i couldn't complain :)

Avoid

They wilfully sent me one damaged pack in a shipment of 11, i.e. there was no external damage to the pallet and wrapping, and then refused to respond to an email with photograph of the damage (as requested by them) and three subsequent phone calls. Clearly they knew the planks could be used as cuts. The issue is their moral compass and the principle of customer service. They have neither. As a property developer and frequent buyer I will now go elsewhere and pay more, to ensure I can get the service when I need it.
