Grass nearly £1000 nightmare

I ordered the Nutmeg grass via ebay on 25th April 2021. Arrived 27th April 2021 where I rolled it out to let the grass bounce back throughout the day. I checked again that evening to find lines in it that looked like a missing row of grass or change of pile direction. One about half way up and another going the width of the grass about 1m before the end. I took pictures and informed them straight away.

I received a call the following day, 28th April 2021 and they confirmed form the pictures that it was a defect and would be replaced.

Replacement came a week later (despite initial order coming within 2 days!!), 5th May 2021 even though I had informed them all the way along that I had fitters coming on the 8th which I had to book a month in advance. I asked them 2-3 times to make sure this replacement has no issues as I couldn’t rebook the fitters without having to wait another month. Upon receiving the new grass, I again unrolled it to leave it to bounce back up but instantly noticed it was a lesser quality and different colour grass they had given. Luckily the delivery drivers didn’t take the old one away so was able to compare otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to take pictures to prove it!

I got straight back onto the phone to them and then spent the rest of my day trying to get this sorted out. I sent various pictures and videos to someone who then agreed it was not the same and would get another new grass sent to me. I again told him that I had a deadline of the 8th as this was when the fitters were booked for. Come Friday 7th May 2021 no new grass despite them managing to get my initial order to me within a day and a half!

Called them to cancel the redelivery and informed them that I would have to install the initial grass sent and cut off 5sqm where the line going through it was.

I was told by them that they would make a refund “gesture” for the issues caused.

The grass that had to be cut off cost £105, the extra underlay I now had left over because of this cost £35 and the spare tub of glue cost £55.

Offer from them - £60!

After telling them that wasn’t acceptable they then offered £120 (£60 upfront and £60 once the other grass had been collected). Still no where near covering my costs nor the 2 days I had to take off work in order to get the grass in in the first place AND they are asking I take another day off in order to pick up the grass they sent me that wasn’t the same as the first! I have informed them that they will need to make arrangements out of hours in order to do so as I would not be taking any further time off for their mistakes.

I would recommend thinking twice before even considering using these guys. Nothing but grief and bad quality items. They will try and fob you off with a lesser quality product should you have issues with original order. A shame as I spent a long time looking at various grass samples but now wish I had never given these people my money!

Beware when considering them as they really don’t care!

I ordered artificial grass, was given a delivery date, told it had been dispatched, only to receive an email several hours later, telling me it had not, due to a dispatch dept error. Told to expect it tomorrow. the next day came, once again, received a message saying it had been dispatched and another giving me a window of 3 hours when to expect it. Well the expected delivery time is up and no delivery, so I called THEM, only to be told once again, it had not been dispatched, and that there manager was made aware of this this morning and told to contact me.....well they have not contacted me...they cant even give ma a valid reason this time.....the customer sales person did say' it may be to heavy for a normal delivery'. strange she did not say that when they took my money.

So, now just waiting for someone to get back to me.....I'm not holding my breath..

Please DO yourself a favour and AVOID them and buy your flooring somewhere else.

Telephoned them on Thursday to ask about their advertised next day delivery, and was told that they couldn't do a next day delivery, but that I would definitely receive it on Monday. I asked them if they could be certain that I would definitely receive it on Monday, and was told that, yes, I would definitely get it Monday.

So on Monday I waited in all day for it. It didn't arrive. I telephoned them to ask where it is and they said that they would never have said that they could do next day delivery, and that no one would have told me I would receive it on Monday. I told them that that's exactly what I had been told by them on Thursday. They denied this, and were quite rude about calling me a liar.

I asked them where my flooring was, and when I might be able to expect it. They had a look, and didn't know where it was.

Two hours later they phoned me to advise that they had sent it to the wrong depot, and that it would have to be rerouted, and I should receive it Tuesday, or possibly Wednesday.

Finally, on Tuesday afternoon I received it. The packaging looked fine and so I signed for it.

However, as soon as I unwrapped it I could see that it was completely unusable. It looked for all the world as though somebody had dropped it sideways onto the end of a piece of scaffolding or something. There was a huge three inch hold ripped right through the roll. I unrolled it and the rip had penetrated at least the first three layers, meaning that three metres at least were completely ruined. The hole was right in the middle too, so there was no way I could reposition it to avoid using the damaged sections.

I telephoned them yet again to complain about the damage, noting that the packaging was not damaged, and so the damage had not occured in transit, but at the warehouse. This meant that someone had severely damaged the flooring, but then gone ahead and wrapped it up anyway.

The woman I spoke to said that there wasn't anything she could do about it. She said a manager might call me back, but that I wouldn't get a replacement for a few days. She then cut me off halfway through me speaking.

From start to finish this company has been a disaster. They might be cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for, and I really do wish I had spent a few more pounds and got a decent service, got my flooring on time, and got a flooring that wasn't ripped to shreds and unusable.

My advice if you are considering ordering from this company? Don't. For god's sake, just don't.

Took money for flooring which was not in stock !!! Then when I spoke to them they couldn't address the situation that was wrong on their part and said that it was my fault, when I asked to talk to the manager I was told that I wasn't allowed I had to deal with the same bloke all the time and he wasn't any help at all I still haven't received my refund

I came upon this company online by chance, and I am so glad I did. The communication, swift & cheerful delivery, the great service and quality of the product was first class. The range was wide and I easily found a style I liked. The price was great value too. Not only did it look even better on delivery than it did on the screen, but it was wrapped in another (free, unordered) piece of cushion flooring that will probably fit my hall! I only wish I knew about them years ago! You really do get more for your floor - superb!
