Vax W90-RU-P Rapide Ultra 2

brilliant carpet cleaner for when i got to use it, but the weight of the machine and water took its toll on the handle which snapped at the lugs which fit inside the handle housing, It would then not let water through so couldn't wash or rinse carpet. I think this machines handle needs redesigned.

I was lucky enough to have the Vax Rapide Ultra 2 W90RU carpet cleaner recently, which also picks up spills. A frozen pipe burst in the house and this machine picked up 90% of the water from the carpet involved.

I really liked the accessories included, i.e the pre-treatment wand which worked amazingly well on even old marks/stains. The upholstery tool also worked very well on my settee and armchairs.

I have already started recommending this to friends and family as this is the first carpet cleaner which has made a significant difference to both the cleanliness and look of my carpets.

The machine itself comes supplied with almost everything, although a measuring cup would'nt go amiss. This is quite a heavy machine to use until you get used to it. It does however really deep clean even light coloured carpets (beige) and the simple trigger action ensures the water and shampoo are delivered into the receiving tank.

All in all an excellent carpet shampooer. The best i've ever owned.

Excellent machine, carpet looks like new and almost dry, very very pleased wish I'd had one years ago. would recommend totally. Bought on the internet and got it at a really good price

Vax Rapide W-90 RUB. Bought in January 2011, broken after 1st use just dispensed the cleaning liquid very fast very wet carpet. Not allowed to return to argos you have to ring the expensive contact number. Returned having waited all day for collection. Was repaired quickly and returned. Didnt work fault not fixed so soaking wet carpet for the second time. Rang again not allowed refund or exchange its up to the engineer to decide if he can repair. Filled in several complaints forms no reply, emailed direct and copied CEO still no reply. Still waiting for repair. Summary:Worst customer service ever especially since you have to listen to "We love you" while holding on the phone, I don't feel loved I can tell you

Good cleaner with nice design. A bit clunky when moving around, particularly up and down the stairs. Where this cleaner did very well is with getting out pet odours and hair. Even though the carpets had been professionally cleaned the Vax still got out plenty more. The shampoo leaves a nice smell too. Little bit pricey if your paying ful price but I got mine on sale - so overall very happy.

The day after my new vax arrived, the dog decided to be sick - disgusting green vomit on my pale cream bedroom carpet. Talk about good timing.

The machine came well packaged. The handle was easy to attach and within minutes it was ready to use. I measured out the detergent (you get a bottle included) and filled the tank. Then it was time to tackle the stain. The machine is lightweight and easy to move around. I went over the stain twice and that was it - gone. I honestly could not believe how efficient this cleaner is. I would also recommend the detergent as well, it really is good stuff !!!

It is very simple to empty the dirty water container and I just rinsed it under the tap and it was clean again, just like new.

Now I'd started there was no stopping me and I continued cleaning the rest of the bedroom carpet and the hallway. The hallway carpet is only 18 months old, but it was amazing how dirty the water was and also how clean the carpet looked after.

I would certainly recommend this cleaner, it is lightweight, easy to fill and empty and can even tackle the most 'horrid' of stains.

Well I tried this machine out thinking my carpets weren't that dirty, they still looked relatively clean after two years of various food/drink spillages and many craft accidents (among other things lol) from three young boys I was rather proud that my beige carpets were still beige.

How wrong I was!

The carpet cleaner arrived a couple of days before Christmas and I thought it might make the house feel fresher before the million & one relatives came to visit so cracked the box open. My first thoughts were how big the machine was but on putting it together soon realised it wasn't actually very heavy and surprisingly very easy to move around.

The instructions are a little lacking but the machine itself wasn't that hard to figure out without them.

One thing I would suggest is that you really need to order more cleaning fluid if you want to get cracking on many areas straight away as the bottle it comes with doesn't last very long.

I was expecting to have to leave the carpets to dry out at least over night after cleaning but this cleaner left them virtually dry.

Realising it only left my carpets mildly damp I decided to pull the sofa out to clean underneath (you really need to vacuum first to avoid clogging the cleaner). There was a rust patch hidden under there from the metal washer on the bottom of the feet, not any more!! The Vax Rapide Ultra W90-RU-B tackled it with ease. I was shocked to see the colour of the dirty water coming out of my carpets and realise just how dirty they really were.

They now look like new again, lovely and bright instead of the dull dingy beige they were in comparison.

The down side to this cleaner is that if left standing still the unit would leak, and I found myself refilling the tank more often than I would have liked, but when you see the end results its more than worth the small effort of sucking up a few more drops of water & a few extra trips to the sink.

Overall a great little machine that I can see becoming as much a necessity to my home as my vacuum is.

I recently acquired a Vax W90-RU-B Rapide Ultra Carpet Cleaner and I cannot believe how easy and straightforward it was to use and set up.

The cleaner was easy to use, came with a bottle of shampoo and was being used within 5 minutes of me opening the box!

The only downside it is heavy but I was able to move it around easily if it took me a little time to climb up/down the stairs.

Before use you need to ensure you hoovered the carpets thoroughly - this is to make sure you carpets get a proper clean and any undue fluff etc on the carpet does not clog up the machine.

When cleaning the carpets you just press the on/off switch with your right foot as it's on the right of the machine and then use your left foot to press the other foot peddle to recline the cleaner so it can be moved along freely.

The trigger switch on the handle should be pressed when moving the vax forwards to release the soap solution and when pulling backwards the cleaner sucks up the water. The carpets were slightly damp but nowhere near as damp as when I have borrowed carpet cleaners in the past.

Once done, this vax is easy to remove the water chamber and to clean the dirty fill bottle.

Cannot fault it and wish I'd found this product ages ago : )

Quite easy to put together although a diagram of how the hoses connected would have been helpful.

Easy to fill and use: just press a trigger walking forward and release when pulling it back. Cleaned a much used cream rug surprisingly well; found it best to go over the area a few times and the result was only really evident when it was dry. The amount of dirty water left in the tank showed that to get carpets clean, you really do need to wash as well as vacuum.

Apart from the cleaning ability, it took very little time for the carpet to dry, particularly compared to a previous cleaner - only 1 to 2 hours.

After hiring carpet cleaners in the past, normally at least once a year to clean the carpets I always thought that home use ones would not be as good or easy to use. After getting the VAX W90-RU-B Rapide Ultra cleaner I was amazed how easy it was to setup.

Once setup it did not stop there, it is easy to fill the water container and place back onto the carpet cleaner, which easily fits on the back and does fit securely as not to seem that it will come off. I thought to try out first I would try cleaning my daughter's bedroom which has a cream carpet - probably not the best choice for a 5 year old. As you can imagine there was a number of marks/stains on the carpet from crayons and pens as well as the odd drink split etc.

Using the carpet cleaner was easy, following the advice in the accompanied booklet you can easily apply the solution on the forward push of the cleaner allowing the return - pulling the cleaner back to pick up the solution. I was amazed at the amount of dirt that was brought out of the carpet. As well as the stains/marks being removed it is amazing how dirty the water is when you empty the cleaner which again as a simple task of just unclicking the tank and taking to the sink or drain and pouring out then placing back into position and clipping back in place.

It took no time at all to clean the carpet with amazing results and as well as a clean carpet the room smells so much fresher. And you also have the knowledge that it has removed all the dust mites etc. from the carpet too.

The one thing to remember to do first is to give the carpet a good hoover before cleaning to pick up all the hairs and fluff from the carpet and for harder stains you can always use a pre-treatment I suppose if needed but I have not had the need for this so far.

The hoover is lighter than I expected so easy to move about and to store the handle can be detached to fit in smaller places.

All in all I great carpet cleaner and easy to use.
