Avoid Merry Maids South Yorkshire
What a terrible service. Toilets not cleaned properly, as I found when cleaning them myself, only to find significant dirt under the rim of the bowls. Floors half heartedly cleaned, with dusty corners. Significant deposits of dust on tops of door frames and paintings/pictures. Carpets not vacuumed properly, with dust deposits building around the edges. In general, my home was cat licked rather than properly cleaned by the staff employed by this company. I would like to say they did some things well but I can’t; they couldn’t even be bothered to empty the bins properly by making sure they put fresh bin liners in place. Avoid this company, don’t be taken in by the blurb. ‘Relax. It’s done ‘ - what a joke.

Unprofessional Demeanor And Service
I decided to give Merry Maids a second chance so I had them again today.
First time they "forgot"to clean surface of cupboards in kitchen, full of oil spots everywhere, had to call the company again, extra waste of time, they came with a defensive attitude, sprayed a drop in the cloth and started scrabbing, the cupboard got smudgier, I said you better spray all cupboards with the cleaner and then wipe, one drop of cleaner wont be enough to clean all cupboards, they were stingy with the product, I finally sprayed all cupboards with my cleaner and asked them to wipe!!!!
Today, they were different cleaners by surprise, the minute they stepped in I felt they were obnoxious and moody, didnt even say good morning to my husband when hes said hello. They were in a rush, without paying particular attention and when I pointed out things they were reluctant. I asked if the top of the ventilator can be cleaned as they were oil spots, and the cleaner told me : I cant get up there, I had a knee replacement..wasnt it cleaned last time?!!!That is why I called you to clean it because since last time it got dirty again, what an attitude. !!!The other girl finally did it(half of it).
The mopping bucket for the mop they wanted to fill it up from the kitchen sink, I said better get hot water from the bath tub, I dont put in the sink where we wash dishes, the mopping bucket..they were upset. I also wanted clean water for every room, instead they tried to use the same water to clean the whole house, I discouraged them from doing that...
As I am in wheelchair and today I used my zimmer frame to make a few steps , I also have a brace in my right leg and a orthopaedic boot in my left to help me walk, still struggling with it, I asked if she can do me a favour and get the clothes out of my washing machine put in a basket so I can put them in the airer, I was expecting she would do the extra mile for me, and instead she said: It is not included in the service, can you do it?!!!!
I dont ask for that, yes it is not in the service it will take just two minutes
Very rude, I am walking in a zimmer frame and cant have easy access to the bathroom and cant carry the basket, while I am pushing my frame....very disrespectful to say to a person with disability.

In general they were not willing to listen when I was pointing out a few things that I would like for my cleaning, they wanted to do it their way, and were eager to leave...left water marks after mopping the floor,it looks smudgy, should have squeezed the mop and most of the water out as the floor is marbled,
Bathroom is clean, I asked her to scrub the bathtub, while she wanted to just wipe it and she did.
In general they were rushing with everything, sloppy work, not paying much attention. It seemed like they don't enjoy their job at all...
I feel people should do their job without me having to chase them for things that are common sense, and most important get upset with the customer, for wanting simple things. It would be best if they ask questions, to please their customers, and not get moody and withdrawn
It might be they are not happy working for the company, but that shouldn't be reflected at customers.

Absolute Inverness Disgrace.
I trusted this firm to do a good job - it should have been for almost £300 for a 6 hour deep clean. No way 6 hours was spent cleaning. My house has 5 rooms and every single one of them had poor standards which meant they had to return on a further 2 occasions to correct the shoddy work. They also damaged a piece of furniture which I showed them and they later denied it happened or that I had shown it to them. The man in charge was totally uninterested in my dreadful experience and kept stating over and over his staff did no damage. Yes they did and even worse, they said they didn't. Save your money, go somewhere else. This firm are an absolute disgrace and making a complaint was so difficult and time consuming I simply gave up. The damage has not been fixed either. Utter charlatans. Save your money and stress levels and go somewhere else.

Director of Merry maids Inverness ! I did not find this person very helpful at all ! He tells you what his employees will do and don't do for example he said they dust round figurines etc -- to me that's not cleaning ! If you asked a question he couldn't look you in the eye and give an honest answer ! I wouldn't be comfortable having them in my home

Dreadful Service On All Levels.
I paid almost £300 for a supposed Deep Clean with Merry Maids Inverness. The job was terrible and they had to visit 3 times to get it done to a reasonable standard. Still not worth nearly £300. They moved and did not replace all items around the house and worst of all, damaged an item of furniture. I took it to the Head Office as I was getting nowhere with MM Inverness who denied all knowledge even though the cleaners and a Manager saw it! Truly appalling. 2 months later it is still not resolved and after being ignored for so long, I am taking it to Trading Standards Office to get resolution and payment for the repair which will be expensive. Dreadful clean, dishonest staff and even worse Customer service. Safe your money, your Granny would do a better job.

Outrageously Expensive And Need Training
Merry Maids were recommended for a professional deep clean after a house move. The cost was not transparent and worked out at £32 an hour - not much less than plumber and came to an extraordinary £590 all told. Yes. That's a house clean for 10 hours even with two people ( we were told it would be three and it never was.) Two days work was in fact 10 hours work. The ladies sent were charming and did their best but were not trained to clean professionally with no carpet shampoo, missing surfaces and a sink left marked with limescale that I then got shiney myself.
The manager was curt and off hand when this was raised. The operation relies on us wanting to be kind to those that work there but it is not a professional cleaners.

Poor Customer Service
Merry Maids of leicester,
Sometimes the house was cleaned well, depending on which girls carried out the clean. We had very basic areas missed on several cleans, ie shower not cleaned properly, toilet basins not done adequately, window sills left with dust and cup rings.
What is mostly disappointing with this company is the way the director deals with the complaints , she simply says “ my girls know how to clean”, even when i had sent clear photographic evidence of the areas missed, on this last occasion she just said you should find another cleaner, or she suggested I pay More money for a deep clean, ( when actually fault was with the girls who had missed several areas) apaulling customer service!
And she also insisted I lock my cat away whilst the cleans were being done.

Sloppy! Rude Management!
Merry maids of Maidenhead avoid like the plague!
I pay for a weekly clean. So far I've had o think 4... One of which was actually up to standard. I complained because the last clean was shocking... Biscuit still left on stairs, juice spills left on the kitchen floor, dirty toilets, dead bugs left on windowsills... The list goes on... Shocking to say the least.
After my complained I went on to say how one clean, from the previous week, was really great. I was told they were different cleaners for that one week. The franchise manager told me she would look to send those cleaners instead from now on. I received no confirmation. Tried chasing it up to be told 'we can't meet your expectations so find a new cleaner'...! Disgraceful attitude. I chose to have a weekly clean to take pressure from my workload and all this has done is add pressure to it! Be aware of Merry Maids franchise manager of Maidenhead area. Avoid!

I have been using Merry Maids Inverness to clean my large house for several years. I find this company to be very reliable and it delivers a good service. The girls who come to clean the house are well trained and hard working and do a thorough job. I have also found them to be very trust worthy. When I come home after Merry Maids have been in to clean I always feel its like the "good fairies" have visited the house!

Magic Merry Maids In Moray!!
Been using Merry Maids for several years now - mostly regular staff I have got to know, always manage to come at specified time with other staff if any absence though, not always been the case with other agencies
Great consistent service, staff all work really hard, friendly and flexible but not at all intrusive and easy / comfortable to carry on with work if I am working at home
Always lovely to come home when they have been
I like the the rotating deep clean of different rooms each time, efficient and cost-effective and works for me to have the service every fortnight
On the rare occasions there has been a need to change day/time (around Bank Holidays etc) I have always been contacted in advance and given plenty of options
A great team and would higly receommend them
