Not Comfortable - Return Policy Not Clear
Bought sofa , chair & stool a couple of years ago. Seemed fine in shop. When received, found furniture, uncomfortable & difficult to manoeuvre. Upholstery hard .... goodness knows what made of(horsehair?). Paid extra for special castors.... can't move it. I wanted to return, but told can't as was 'bespoke'(I chose the material/colour) so couldn't ??? . Have hardly ever sat on it ... Has caused me such stress & backache). Not the customer service or care expected.

Furniture From This Store Could Damage Your Home
My husband and I purchased a red sofa from Furniture Village some months ago. The purchase price was not cheap, being some £1100 for a 2-seater sofa. For that money we expected at least something of merchantable quality. As the sofa was purchased for a holiday home, it was a little time before we realised something was wrong, well two things actually.
First, the adjustable foot-rests has gouged holes out of our brand new carpet every time we operated them, and when I mean holes and I mean down to the backing.
Second, I noticed a new white jacket I had worn had become red on the back of the arms! It took me a little while to understand how it happened, but we found our new red sofa was leeching red dye over our clothes. We were alright if we wore dark clothes; it wasn't noticeable. However, I had just purchased this jacket and started to wear it. Again, I was annoyed, but not overly worried as I thought it might wash out. Wrong! it doesn't and I now have a new white jacket with red arms.
I contacted Furniture Village, who referred me to their insurers. That was in October 2015. We are now March 2016 and I have seen not one penny in compensation to date for the carpet, at least. We were asked to gain a quote to replace the carpet. We did. Another delay. We obtained a new quote, actually saving the company a further whopping £117. We sent them the invoice, which had already been paid. They are still stalling paying the damages with any excuse they can bring up.
All we did was to go into what we thought was a reputable furniture store, Furniture Village, and purchase a not inexpensive piece of furniture which has ended up causing so much damage.
Let this be a warning to anyone out there. We have purchased I don't know how many pieces of furniture/sofas over the years and Furniture Village furniture has been the only furniture to come up short of the mark and, in my opinion, is of unmerchantable quality and not fit for purpose.
Why Can't I Cancel Or Exchange With Even 30% Charge?
I ordered a sofa from furniture village for my new house.
After renovation, I found my living room is bigger than I expect.
So I asked about cancellation or exchange.
My delivery date is in one month.
They said I can not cancel or exchange that order, because of special order.
I said I will pay 30% charge. Still the manager(new malden, surrey, KT3 3RD) doesn't accept this.
Now what shall I do?

Worst Customer Service
We bought a G Plan 3 piece suit in the Easter sales from the Rebok store near Bolton. It arrived 12 weeks later 1 of the seats was a differnt colour, 12 weeks later they sent a replacement chair not a power chair that we ordered as of the 29th September we are still waiting for the suite we ordered to be delivered
Avoid this company at all costs

What We Have We Like, 4 Items Of Furniture Village
What we have we like, 4 items of Furniture Village, all from the John E Coyle Range. We've had them 4 years and it is all still good. Looks nice, very well built nice to use draws & doors very smooth. It's quality. As said in the bad points, it has not been treated rough or anything so perhaps the key to keeping furniture nice is taking care of it.

I Bought A 4 Door Display Cabinet, With Cutlery Dr
I bought a 4 door display cabinet, with cutlery drawers and cupboards underneath. (2002) The mirror backing and the over lights are fabulous as is the piece. Also I purchased the matching corner unit and two tall bookcases. Can only say that it has been much loved and admired, unfortunately I live in France and am having to sell here to save the export fees - BUT luckily I have found a very willing buyer for all. A very satisfied customer indeed.

Faults In Sideboard Were Spotted On Delivery. Min
Faults in sideboard were spotted on delivery. Minor points but important as the furniture is so expensive! Driver immediately said it would be exchanged in next delivery to UK. Rang customer services next day to add another couple of faults (sideboard should never have passed quality control). No argument about anything. New one delivered and exchanged in 5ish weeks. Now very happy with everything.

We Recently Bought A Living Room Set Of Furniture
We recently bought a living room set of furniture including a tv cabinet, display unit and two sideboards. the quality of the furniture is good but one of the pieces didn't match either in colour or wood grain.Furniture village were great with after sales customer services, however John e Coyle were the worst company I have ever dealt with! First they didn't want to change the mismatching piece, after paying £2500 for the set! It took a lot of persuasion from furniture village to get them to change their mind. John e coyle sent a man round to take pictures of the mismatching piece. He told me that the the mismatching piece matched my fireplace surround!!! Well after almost a year from ordering our furniture, we finally have a matching seet. Furniture Village have even compensated us with a £100 refund. As for John e Coyle, I've sent a letter of complaint; not even a phone call or acknowledgment.

Would Highly Recommend Furniture Village And The J
Would highly recommend Furniture Village and the John E Coyle Range. We bought a dining table and chairs, hi-fi cabinet, corner display cabinet and two side tables in 2002! Excellent product, excellent service from Aldiss as well as John E Coyle themselves in Ireland. Can't fault their products. Well built and still going strong!
