THE OWNER IS VERY FUSSY AS TO WHAT BREED OF DOG GOES IN HERE, MY FRIEND HAD A DOG IN HERE AND THE OWNER PHONED HER UP ABROAD ON HOLIDAY AND SAID SHE WOULD HAVE TO COME BACK AND PICK UP THE DOG AS SHE COULD NOT COPE WITH IT AND SAID IT HAD BITTEN THROUGH HE WIRE ON T)HE CAGING AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, CAN YOU IMAGINE THE WORRY OF THE OWNER THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY. ALSO TH EOWNER SEEMS TO HAVE A CLEANLINESS ( OVER CLEANLINESS ) PROBLEM, SHE WASHES THE DOGS EARS WITH BABY WIPES AND SOME DOGS ARE SENSITIVE TO THESE, SHORTAGE OF STAFF, DOGS ARE LEFT WHEN STAFF GO FOR SHOPPING AND HAVE TO SLEEP AT THAT PARTICULAR TIME, YOUR DOG MUST BE A PERFECTLY GOOD BEHAVED , NO BOTHER ANIMAL, NOT GOOD ENOUGH REALLY 1

We have used Balshando for many years and we had two dogs, Dougal and Hamish. Unfortunately we lost Dougal this year in his 17th year. Both dogs always enjoyed their stay with Pat for two weeks of the year.

Pat has so much patience and this year it was put to the test with Hamish as he was on his own for the first time and was missing Dougal so much.

I would not hesitate in recommending Pat to look after your pets. The establishment is large and very clean with soft music in the background.

WE HAVE BOARDED TAZ AT BALSHANDO KENNELS ( HE LOVE'S IT THERE AND RUN'S IN WHEN WE GET THERE ) SINCE WE RESCUED HIM 6 YEARS AGO AND I MUST PRAISE THE WAY MY DOG IS LOOKED AFTER,HE ALWAYS COMES HOME HAPPY CLEAN AND WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS WE WOULD NEVER THINK ABOUT PUTTING HIM ANYWHERE ELSE AND HAVE RECOMMENDED THE KENNELS TO ALL

where,as always I was looked after very well by Pat and her friendly staff

The kennels are always very clean and comfortable and I also enjoy my daily walks and pampering.Mum and Dad said"that they wouldn't think of me going to any other kennel".I would definitely recommend Balshando Kennels to any caring dog owner.

We have 2 dogs and have never had to put them in a kennel before. Due to our new arrival in this province and have no family here, we required to find a kennel for our kids because that is what they are to us. We looked around and when we when to check out Balshando Kennels. It is clean,lots of space and the owners were very friendly, helpful and made you feel good and safe to leave your dogs with them. There is no where else I would leave our dogs for holidays.

I have used Balshando for 3yrs, my 2 Labs love it there, the kennels are modern spotlessly clean and in a lovely setting. They think it's their second home!

I'm always disappointed when the kennels are closed for holidays and i have to look elsewhere.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Pat to any one she is a very good at what she does, i go away knowing i'll come back to , two very happy hounds.

My wee dog Maxie has been going to Balshando Kennels for 3 years now and everytime I drop her off, she is always excited to see the staff there, especially Pat. When I pick her up, she looks great and you can tell she has had a fantastic holiday. I wouldn't take her anywhere else.

I fully agree with other reviewers on this site who have commented on poor customer service and select attitude of owners as to what dogs they will and won't take. We booked our 13 month old puppy into these kennels for the summer but decided to have trial night first. On picking our dog up the owner was very disgruntled that our dog had barked a lot and indicated that she would not take her back again if this were the case(She hadn't done anything to try to settle our dog and our dog does not bark a lot at home) In her hurry to take our money and get rid of us she did not return our dogs blanket and toy. When my husband returned to get these the owners were very rude to him and had the cheek to say he had disturbed their rest!! No consideration given to the inconvenience we had in having to return for these items! To our disbelief a couple of weeks later the owner phoned and left a message on our answer machine to say she had cancelled our summer booking! Would not recommend this kennel if your dog is not used to kennels/or needs a lot of exercise and customer service is extremely poor.

These Kennels are clean, and owner/s obviously conscientious, however they are very selective in what they will board, dont like dogs who seem like they "Dont want to be there" which is a strange mindset to have with regards to a kennel buisiness. If your dog/s is/are lively, may be unsettled for first few nights, steer clear and look to larger Kennels which are not "Niche" in their approach, the lady we spoke to on the day was fussy, standoffish, and quite critical of a good natured animal, it is strange as we thought it was a bording kennel. Our review is based on previously using a boarding kennel for 3 large breed dogs, where there was a marked presence of staff, who could manage and indeed handle uncertainty without fuss. Wee dog, no noise, will sleep while your on holiday, ideal boarding kennel!!

I recently moved up from England two years ago with my dogs ben and jess and I would not dream of putting my babys any where else . Balshando Kennels beats any kennel down south through value for money and the way the dogs were looked after in fact the dogs did not want to leave the kennals and a big thank you to staff and most of all the manager of balshando boarding kennels Pat Wallace .
