Avoid

Manchester Vet Centre has now moved to a new location near Haughton Green due to My Petsop closing down.

My 11 year old cat was misdiagnosed by the Scottish vet there, she lossed her appetite & after getting checked over the vet told me it was due to some bad teeth which they pulled out, after the op she was given a shot of Convenia a long lasting antibiotic which side effects include anorexia that didnt help (read up on it), she then started coughing which didn't ease up (possible damage to the larynx by the breathing tubes), she was not recovering & stopped eating completely, she became very thin, weak & could hardly walk, so i took her to another vets where eventually they diagnosed her with a tumour that could not be operated on, so not only was it costly but my cat suffered in her final weeks & in the end had to put her to sleep

My Dog Was Left To Die

2 years ago our beautiful little dog passed away aged 1 year old despite being brought in to see the same vet 3-4 times to raise our concern.

Our dog wasn't eating properly, always had the runs and was very frail and continuously weak to be told 'shes fine and its normal for a dog her size' by the Scottish speaking lady. We will never ever return to this vets ever again.

More tests should have been ran to determine what was actually causing her problems and this wasn't done despite us asking.

Grooming Service

Took my 2 German shepherds, they were so well looked after, I came back to find them both beautifully groomed. My dogs don't mix very well, but when I returned they were both very relaxed. Brilliant place. Thank you

Worst Groomer Ever

I took my Shih Tzu who has long fur and wears a bow at the top of her head. I like the Japanese style of grooming and so asked her fur to be shortened on her body, but please, please do not touch the fur on the top of her head. The groomer arrived 15 minutes late. I had an appointment that afternoon and stressed the time I needed to be out of there by. I was reassured my dog would be finished by then. I arrived to pick up my dog at the time stated, but she was not finished. The groomer invited me into her area and I was shocked at what I saw. My dog's fur was uneven with long and short hairs. The worst part was she had cut her hair on the top of her head! I cannot tie it up in bows, yet it is too long to leave down. It is a right mess. I asked the groomer to cut her hair straight, and she said she can't as my dog would not keep still. She asked me to hole my dog while she groomed her! I should NOT have to do the groomers' job! I took my dog and left. My shih tzu has the worst cut ever seen. A child could have done a better job. So disgusted with the service I received. The people were rude and stood around talking among themselves as I demanded a refund. I so wanted to love this place as I was very impressed with the facilities; it is like a Disney land for dogs. However, I shall never set foot in there ever again.

Stressful, Expensive, Rude.

Our dogs have boarded with these kennels for the last six years. It's over priced and every time takes forever to book them in when you get there. Nobody likes leaving their pets so this should be speeded up. I booked them in for wednesday the 27th July 2011. I paid the ridiculously over priced bill of £356 the week prior to arriving. On the Monday I took my inoculation cards to my vets and asked to check everything was up to date. They said yes, everything is fine for the kennels. I arrived at the kennels at 7 pm. I was flying to America in the early hours of the morning. I left the dogs in the van and carried the bedding in. The lady on the desk took my name and asked for the inoculation cards. After checking them she said...I can't see kennel cough on here. I told her my vet had said everything was fine for the kennels. She said...you need kennel cough. I rang my vets and asked them. They said...No they haven't got it. Most kennels don't need it anyway. I asked...So what happens now?? She said..They can't stay. I asked if the vet that they apparently have on site could do it for them.. She said...No. Now I had two dogs in the car and a plane to catch in four hours and she just stood there and said No. Not...Let's see what we can do, or, let me help you, I have a list of places that might take them, or even, sorry!!!! Just NO. So it's now 730 on a Wednesday evening, and I am stressed out to the max. Most kennels don't need kennel cough. But if you do then that's fair enough. But to say the woman who dealt with me was rude, ignorant and extremely unsympathetic would be an understatement!!!! Perhaps a phone call the week before they arrive reminding people of what they need would be helpful and having someone on reception who wasn't ignorant would help has well. It won't matter to me but I would hate this to happen to anyone else.

To phone every customer a week before they are due to check in would be a never ending task. The vaccination policy is pointed out on booking to customers. The vets are at fault here. There would be no point having the vaccine on the day as it is a live vaccine. To put 120 other dogs (who have had the nasal spray) at risk, would be disgraceful. With regard to checking them in taking too long - surely you would want them to know everything about your pets, not just drop them off and go. I think most people would rather spend more time making sure everything was ok.

Jameskundi, I find it a bit strange that you have replied to my review and also left a good review yourself for Mypetstop!!!! You really shouldent be allowed to work somewhere and leave a glowing review, its called a conflict of interest!! And as for you Sucina4536, you say ALL kennels require a kennel cough jab. How did i drop my dogs of at another kennels that same evening? they have been in 3 kennels since this and not had a kennel cough vaccination!!!You call me ignorant?? What the hell is a kennel cough jab?!! Do dogs have a jab for kennel cough??!!! NO! If you are going to comment on my review, read it properly !!!!

ALL KENNELS REQUIRE THAT YOUR DOGS HAVE HAD THE KENNEL COUGH JAB. THIS WAS YOUR OWN IGNORANT FAULT

A response from mypetstop....

I apologise for the experience you’ve received at mypetstop and we appreciate both positive and negative comments to help us improve the service for our customers and their pets.

Kennel cough – Our policy is that no dogs can stay with us unless they’ve been vaccinated against Kennel Cough. Customers are advised of this vaccination at the time of booking, on the booking confirmation letter and invoice. I understand you’ve boarded with us before and therefore would be aware our vaccination policy when your dogs last stayed. As these are annual vaccinations, we do remind existing customers, vaccination must be kept up to date when they make a booking.

I’m surprised your vets advised you most Kennels don’t need this vaccination. This is a highly contagious disease and I would assume most respectable boarding kennels also have the same policy as mypetstop. The health of every dog boarding with us is of our primary concern. By implementing this policy ensures that all dogs enjoy a fun and healthy experience when they come to stay.

Price – I’ve spoke to the centre and understand you received a full refund.

I appreciate our response will not change your view on mypetstop but I felt it was important to explain why your dog was not allowed to board with us on this occasion.

Mypetstop Has Kind, Friendly Staff, My Dog Has Bee

MyPetStop has kind, friendly staff, my dog has been to various classes from 12 weeks old, he is now 5, and has stayed many many times, never do I worry about leaving him and know that he will have the best of care whilst we are away.

The best judge of the place is Charlie as he never even look back whilst being taken to his kennel and his tail never stops wagging whilst there which must be good.

Mypetstop In Denton Is An Absolutely Fab Place To

MyPetStop in Denton is an absolutely fab place to leave your pets if you love your pets and want the very best of care for them. Lucy stays there twice a year (5 year old Lab) and has a great holiday herself, when we go away. The pet carers are really lovely. We can even book in fun swims, play sessions and a bath before she comes home!!

Q&A

lewishart

I am looking for a puppy training class for my 15 week old Yorkshire Terrier. I have been to puppy classes at Denton a few years ago but can't find any information about the Denton site.

Could you let me know dates, times and prices?

Thanks in anticipation
