I Have Been Using This Company On And Off For Over
I have been using this company on and off for over 20yrs.
It was originally small, two brothers and their wives, dependable reliable personal service. At that time they were all I used for my large breed dogs. They bought their own mill and got bigger.
Unfortunately they sold it to Viovet.
The service is awful. The prices are high. The delivery is two fees if you buy frozen. Even paying a third fee (delivery charge, frozen food charge and next day delivery charge) does not guarantee arrival. And customer service simply have a “that’s the way it is” attitude.
I’d like to rate them NO star but it defaults to one.
I’m DONE with them.

Avoid This Supplier
I was a customer at Berriewood for four years. The key word here is ''was''. The last two times I made an order they managed to mess up twice in a row. First time around they blamed it on their delivery service (FedEx). Despite a lack of communication and failure to perform basic client care management, I did not really kick up a fuss as I was informed (after chasing by email AND telephone) that they were experiencing technical problems which caused delays in their delivery facility. In my opinion, business or not, we all make mistakes and there should always be room for this.
I made my next order a couple of weeks after this and was duly informed that the delivery would take place Monday or Tuesday. I called them Wednesday and spoke to someone who introduced herself as "Bev". She informed me that they were busy and were behind with their orders. She was very rude and probably should not talk to customers on the phone.
As a paying and loyal customer who doesn't freak out over tiny issues, I find this exceptionally unprofessional and arrogant. They had not made a single effort to contact me and inform me of the delay. This is really bad service and I have no idea how a firm that sell goods to individual customers indtend to build any client basis with these manners.
I highly recommend DAF, who are much more reliable and very customer orientated.
I gave one star because I had to

Rip Off Delivery Service
This was my first and last order from Berriewood, I ordered 18 cans of food for my dog on a Tue evening and the site said despatched usually within 1 to 2 days and I paid £4.99 for FedEx EXPRESS delivery. I called them the following Monday to enquiry where my order was as I was going on Holiday Wednesday and needed the food. I was told they had the food in stock but at checkout it did say could be 10 days which I admit I did miss, but I had already read usually despatched within 1 to 2 days. I asked them to despatch my order as they admitted it was in stock and I had paid £4.99 for express, they replied if I paid an extra £2.99 they would despatch immedialty and I would receive next day, but if I did not pay then it would be Friday, two days after I left for my holiday. I asked about customer service but they just said pay an extra £2.99 or they are within their rights to despatch for a Friday delivery, 10 days after they had taken my money. Please take time to read the other reviews for this company related to their attitude to customer service and delivery.

Really Disappointed.
Really disappointed in their customer service and delivery. The goods arrived defrosted. I had ordered 5 packs of frozen diced chicken breast (5kg).
I have a four month old puppy who I am providing emergency foster to and he needed to eat raw chicken. However he wasn't going to eat 5kg of chicken in 24 hours so I felt my only choice was to put it back in the freezer to refreeze and get in contact with the company.
My instant reaction was to bring up the confirmation email and within it, it stated that you could reply to that email with any questions. So I did. Asking whether this chicken would still be okay to use as I had needed to refreeze it due to the way it had arrived. I received no reply back that day - it was Friday - so I decided to email again using an address given on their website, once the weekend was over. So on the Monday I sent another email to the company. This time I heard back and they advised me that this chicken was no fit for purpose and if I provide them with a photograph of the defrosted chicken then they will send out a replacement. I explained that I put all the chicken except for one back in the freezer so this is not possible, but that I can provide them with a photo of the frozen chicken anyway (so they can see it's not been used) and give it back to the driver when they deliver the replacement.
I then received an email telling me in great detail the dangers of feeding my dog refrozen meat (i.e it's not fit for purpose) but that they wouldn't be doing anything about it on this occasion because I couldn't provide them with a photograph, and that I should have been in contact sooner. At this point I had already send print screens to them showing what their email says about being able to send a reply and a printsacreen of my reply, which was sent as soon as I had received my shipment. So I am not sure how I could have got into contact with them any sooner. Plus providing a photo of the chicken defrosted meant nothing and I don't see how his proved it arrived how it did. I could have quite easily defrosted it again, just to take the photo?
Anyway, no, I would not recommend this company to a friend. When ordering this amount of perishable food you want to feel assured that the products will remain frozen and in usable condition, and that customer service will solve any mishaps that occur in the side. However, unfortunately, this was not the case.
Poor Delivery Service
I have used Berriewood for 3 or 4 years and have always received good customer service .
Sadly my last 2 deliveries have been disappointingly slow and after calling to check where the delivery was this morning I was advised that my confirmation e mail advised of up to a 2 week wait and to be be fair this was correct but I had not noticed .
Apparently this was because products ordered may have been out of stock but to my surprse if I paid an additional charge of £7 I could have the food tomorrow .
Customer service is failing now for some reason and I'm afraid I cannot use this company anymore .

Customer Service Is Appalling
Ordered food as I have done so for last 7 months on a monthly basis and never received after 3 days I then call them they say they changed courier to be more efficient from DPD to FEd ex was promised I would have Friday by 6pm I then ring fed ex myself and they tell me my parcel is lost at another address to cut along story short loads of lies and I ask for a manager to call me at berriewood which never happened on the Friday at 6pm I have to go and buy food for dog as it isn't coming as promised on Saturday I call and they say we will, send another lot of food out you will have on Monday which never happened on the Saturday I get a call from manager at fed ex to say they got my parcel and he personally bought it to me
More than I can say about berriewood they then retracted the other parcel on Wednesday that still hadn't arrived as they was then told I got my parcel on Saturday
I think I should of had a call as I requested from berriewood and some compensation and I was under the impression they was sending the food out free of charge it was still 3-4 days for delivery even the 2nd lot
Sent Damaged Goods
I use them for raw dog food which never have any problems with, however recently purchased dog Agility Slalom poles which arrived in packaging barely hanging together, not damaged in transit as outer packaging all good, their warehouse employee obviously decided to get rid of whatever was lying around and to heck with customers. Had to wait 10 days for the pleasure of receiving their rubbish.Very poor show Berriewood.

Big Price Increases Month On Month
Been using this company for around 7/8 months. Had a regular delivery of dog food, the price was the same for around 4 months, but then started creeping up each month. No email to tell me the price was increasing, just the standard email to say my order had been created.
Last month I emailed because I had paid quite a bit more for my dog food than the website was currently showing - was told prices fluctuate, but the price should hopefully stay low again in time for next months delivery, and if not, to contact them and they would see what they could do.
Low and behold, price shot up again in time for my delivery - a £7 increase over the price I paid a few months ago. After emailing them, was told there was nothing they can do about it. Customer services so unhelpful, subscription cancelled.

Awful
Needs a tracking service as I've been waiting nine days with no updates. I find this appalling as the estimated delivery was 3-5 days

Excellent Service And Customer Support
First time I have used Berriewood - Ordered 4 bags of dog food but e-mail confirmation said 1 item was out of stock (strange as web site did not say out of stock) Phoned next morning and a very helpful lady explained it was the free frisbee gift that comes with the dog food that was out of stock - quickly sorted and dog food was immediately shipped - came next day with very good communication and arrived within the 1 hour slot allocated.Have just now got an e-mail to say they have also posted me the free frisbee - very happy customer and excellent service, will definetly use again.
