Avoid This Food It May Contain Black Mould
A couple of weeks ago I gave my mini dachshund as a treat half of nature diet senior lite (not his normal diet) as he has dry food but got given 6 samples of food at the Belgravia dog show in the summer. He really enjoyed all other 4 flavours however the senior lite had some strange black bits on it i didn't think anything of it. My dog eat half of what i served him and a few hours later found him having seizures which lasted 4 hours! and had to be rushed to the vets and stayed in hospital for 2.5 days. I opened the carton from all sides and the food had clearly gone bad despite it being within date stored as per manufacturers instructions and not having any damage on the box. I have learnt since that mould in particular black mould can make a dog very ill and can cause seizures! it was £1500 worth of vets bills and very nearly killed my dog! luckily he is fine. Reading up on Nature Diet i think they have had problems with their packaging food before. ND are placing the blame on me but i wouldn't knowingly feed my dog something that was going to kill him! so avoid this food tetra pack packaging is not brilliant. Disappointed of the quality and extremely dissatisfied with ND attitude to my complaint. AVOID THIS FOOD batch 1788 best before date : 05/20

Dog Up All Night With Tummy Ache
My dog has recently had surgery go remove a tumour from his small intestine. I had been giving him boiled chicken and rice and chappie chicken and rice and he'd been doing really well but he got bored so I chose to try something different Chicken and rice Natures Diet as it states on the box easily digestible, however he has been contracting his stomach all night and been very restless so I read up on it and now wish I has done so beforehand. If everyone is complaining why Dont N D do something about it and listetk the customers feedback.

Wonderful Food When You Can Get Into It!!!!
My six Pugs have been fed on nature diet for years I have produced two international champions on it and buy a box of 18 a week,so no problems with the food.
My problem is the packaging its frustrating when the tray will just not open, the last box of lamb not one would open, why is this? Any plans to improve? Having to use a knife or scissors is a pain.

Just As Good As Ever.
Decided to put my Westie back on Nature Diet after a 6 month break (nothing to do with ND) I have read a lot of negative reviews about it being a new recipe, sloppy etc.
Westie has been back on it for a week now, I see no difference at all in the quality and consistency, I can still chop it into chunks for him, he has had no upset stomach & his'poo' is nice and firm.
I have no regrets about going back to Nature Diet and recommend it without hesitation.
I have completely the opposite problem, since my last delivery of the New Improved Nature diet I've had to ditch a whole case of chicken because the cases were either cracked or blown. Swell pets replaced them and ever since ive had my dog on two days Nature Diet followed by diarrhoea, apricot coloured poos and bloated tummy, so back on chicken /rice/scrambled egg. This has been going on for months now and I'm left with over 36 packs of food I can't feed to my pet. I also feel rather embarrassed as I intro my friend to this product and one of her two dogs is having the same problem.. I am going to write this up on the Nature Diet FB page as I now know of 6 people who are all having gastro problems with their dogs who never had a problem before.

Commercial Suicide By Nature Diet
For the past 9 1/2 years, Nature Diet has been our Labrador's main food. However, suddenly the quality plummeted with mould now a consistent problem. We have had to switch to Nature's Harvest and Wainrights suddenly introduce suddenly rather than gradually as advised due to Nature Diet's failure. How to ruin a product and company and one easy step: we won't be returning.

Gas And Loose Poo's
I have been feeding my dog nature diet rabbit and turkey for 5 years, fit ,healthy and never gassy. Since the recent change he is very gassy and has very loose poo's. I have tried adding more fibre but this had not helped.
Upset Tummies
I was recommended nature diet by my dog behaviourist when I took on a rescue terrier, I also have two other terriers. This was 2 years ago all the dogs thrived on the food with no upset tummies and firm pooh.
Since the food has changed not only are a lot of the packs blown or mouldy. My parson terrier has had very bad tummy problems he has been sick and had the runs and refuses his food the other two also have had the runs.
I tried changing to the sensitive he will be ok for a few days and then it starts again. There is something very wrong with the change of production.

Not What It Was
We've fed our two terriers on Naturediet 'wet' food for several years with no problems until recently. There is no doubt tge formula changed in the move from one manufacturing plant to another. Until early autumn the food was very solid in texture: now it's much softer in texture because it's much wetter. We all know that water is cheap and it seems very clear that there is more included than previously. The real problem is that the 6-yr old dog has started stealing food, something he has never done before. We can only assume he's hungrier. Rather than double his rations (I.e. double the cost) we are changing to a higher protein food. Naturediet has 10% protein now but I am sure it used to be nearer 20% although I have no proof if this...
Dog Had Problems
I decided to try to get my dog to eat this nutrition food. He was not feeling very well and had some stomach problem. I figured it was this food, was so worried so I stopped and now he is better.

The Change To Nature Diet
I have two dogs and one of them has a very sensitive digestive system. I tried various foods and then discovered Nature Diet Rabbit and Turkey. It was great and both dogs were well with their poos being firm! Then for a while I could not get any and eventually I was able to re-order it. The new version is dreadful, both dogs were very poorly with runny poos and were sick as well. The food is greasy and wet and the texture is completely different to the original Nature Diet. I do not know why you have changed such a winning formula. I see lots of people are telling you how awful the new version is. I will not be ordering Nature Diet until you go back to the original recipe in the future.
Q&A
How would you say the quality of your food has improved? What happened in 2014? I have read loads of bad reviews. I use their dog food but considering changing to natures menu. Please convince me not too.
How can this company producing Natures diet, still not take any action regarding their poor packaging.
How is it still getting such a good review and value for money status?
Out of a box of 18 I could only open two so I know how you feel, such a good food with such useless packaging amazes me, I really don't think having to cut it open is on.
