Hartz Advanced Care Brand® Flea & Tick Drops Plus+

I bought Hartz In Control Advanced Flea & Tick Drops and applied as recommended to our dog. Both, my dog and I got very bad reaction from this product. Dog lost appetizer and weight, and I have a very bad allergy coming out. Large red spots spread on my face, hands and legs. I had contacted emergency medical treatment information as indicated on the product's box, but could not obtain any helpful advices. WHY SUCH POISON PRODUCT IS STILL PRESENT IN THE PET's SHOP?

Purchased Hartz Advanced Care Once-a-Month Flea & Tick Drops and applied as recommended to our dog. Dog's behavior has been restless, tremors particularly noticable in rear left leg, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and welts/leisions around the neck. Bad product for our pet.

I just applied the hartz ultra gaurd squeeze nozzle to my 12week old kitten. When i first applied it, he was rolling around in the kitty litter for about 10-15min. I was concerned with a rag in my hand ready to wipe that stuff off. he was itching, scratching and licking his head and neck area (where i applied it). but within a half hour he stopped scatching and rolling around. Then he went to sleep. It may have been that his fur was wet or the formula was irritating his skin for a minute or two. I wake him up and he is not acting as playful as he usually does 1 hour after using. he is licking his top body and scratching the area still. He jumped back in his litter box anxiously rolling around. 1 and a 1/2 hour, I gave up got a very wet rag and a little dish soap. And wiped off around his neck 3 times than rinse him. within minutes he is not scratching or rolling around in his litter as much and he is a little more playful. I recommend that you use 1/4 of one of the squeeze bottles at first and if your kitten dont have much reaction then apply half of a bottle 2 hours later. Dont do what i did and apply the squeeze bottle liquid all at once, this may cause total irritation. I recommend spending the extra money to dip your cat, because I used shampoo, flea collars and hartz ultra. It just caused time and money. So now I am just going to take him to the vet instead. Ever since I used hartz ultra gaurd, my cat seems confused about things like, playing with my feet. chasing his favorite toy. tomorrow I will tell you how he is acting. right now after almost 2hours he is still rolling in his litter box and not as playful.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!

My handler saw one flea on my dog two months ago after a dog show. As a precaution, I treated all of my dogs(6)with the drops. The next month I found fleas on 4 of my dogs and 2 of my cats. So I thought I should treat everyone again including my cats. The next day, I've found 2 out of my 5 cats having spots of pink skin and missing fur where the drop was applied. It's been a week now and my cats still missing their fur and I still found live adult fleas on my dogs and cats.

I have a 10 month old pit bull which I treated with the Hartz drops. I followed the directions giving her the appropriate dose for her size, the following day her whole back where the Hartz was applied was broken out in small welts, almost looking like mosquito bites. I washed and rinsed her immediately, it's been about a week and she still has some bumps on her back, but they seem to be clearing up slowly. I wish I knew then what I know now, obviously I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy!

I wish I had read others' review before I bought this. I was thinking of REVOLUTION but it requires a prescription. So I went to Walmart and found Hartz Advanced Care Brand Flea & Tick Drops Plus+. I doubted if it would work, but decided to give it a try. Applied it on my dog following the instructions, and the very next the fur near my dog's tail started to fall off, and now my dog is pink (skin) at the beginning of his tail. I just hope it is not permanent.

Also, the third day after application I spot a flea dancing on my dog. Today is the sixth day, and caught two fleas on my dog.

The Hartz Advanced Care Brand Flea & Tick Drops Plus+ was sold at the pet store. It was much cheaper than the products from the vet, but why waste the money. It does not kill or prevent any fleas. We did not have ticks.

I used Hartz Advanced Care Brand Flea & Tick Drops Plus+ for about 8 months on my dog. It took me a while to correlate her strange tremors and behaviours with the application of this medicine. She is 30 lbs, right on the weight line between strength applications. After finding the medicine to wear off in effectiveness rather quickly, I tried the stronger product. Both times that I used the stronger dosage, my dog had an erratic and panicky reaction, including whimpering, scratching, digging, and tremors. The lesser dosage had been causing tremors for a few days after application, although I didn't realize the relationship to the medicine until after the more acute reaction to the stronger version of the medicine.

Now after hearing and seeing the horrible problems found in cats, I am devastated that I have given her this medicine and can only hope that I didn't do permanent damage.

I have decided to address any flea or tick concerns entirely homeopathically through essential oils and a raw diet and I encourage you to research the same.

My 14 year old shi tzu had been itching for a couple of weeks, and I could not find one flea or tick on her. We went to the vet and she gave me a antihistamine and a antibiotic, but neither helped. I had to make a tail sock and back leg sock for hot spots that she had created from all the itching. I purchased and used Hartz Advanced Care Brand Flea & Tick Drops Plus+ before reading the bad press on it. She is back to her old self, with no itching, no chewing, and sleeping comfortably. I don't know if they have changed the formula since the bad reviews, but it worked great for us!!!
