Great Riding Centre!
i love this riding centre. I have been riding here for about a year now and have been riding for 8 years. I love the horses and the instructors are very good, some of them are Young but none are under 16 or not qualified. Children do help out with the lessons and lead people but that is the same with all yards. They have very good facilities with an indoor school an outdoor school and a jumping paddock. The horses are all in good condition the stables are mucked out at least twice a day but the horses are sometimes dirty because the staff are busy and they go out in the field a lot. The staff are not always at reception because they are busy but overall it's a fantastic place to learn to ride and I have learnt so much in my time there and would recommend it to anyone.

Its Like A Second Home!
I can't help but feel excited to go there now. Its a lovely stable with adorable, sensible horses and ponies. The staff there are really lovely people. The service and the prices are good with the lessons at an excellent standard. I look forward to going here every week and seeing the people and the horses.

Unfriendly Unprofessional
I recently visited Bearwood following a recommendation from a friend whose child loans a pony there. I will not be going back! I was greeted as I walked in to the reception by a man behind the desk smoking whilst playing with his mobile. When I explained I was there for a lesson he told me he didn't work there and did not bother to even look up! The yard itself is nicely laid out with some nice looking horses. However the poor thing I rode looked under weight and it's stable was not nice. The yard manager taught me and I was shocked by her inexperience. I was told I was on the wrong diagonal when I wasn't and she could not offer any constructive critisim. I actually got to a point where I would deliberately do things wrong to see if she picked up on them ( which she did not). There were kids shouting and running outside the school which was distracting, and shocking when they started swearing. I will not be going back

Friendly, Welcoming Staff And Horses!
The staff are extremely friendly, understandable and easy to talk to! I have just started riding here after leaving my previous riding school nearby and I have found it 10x better! The pony I rode was slightly cheeky, but after about 5 minutes he started to listen and I ended the lesson being pretty confident about cantering, which I was not before! I found the instructor explained what I had to do very well and therefore my confidence grew. The lessons are half the price of the original stables I have been to and definitely value for money. Bearwood is a place that I will definitely be returning to and I would recommend them to anyone!
Great School, Great Instructors, Great Horses
I started riding at this yard 8 months ago with 8years experience riding. The staff are friendly there isn't always someone at reception as they are busy. The horses are sometimes dirty from rolling in their stables but are well fed and looked after. There are horses for all abilities there easy horses to stubborn horses. Love this place they really push your abilities.

Good School
I have started at Bearwood recently and really enjoyed my lessons. There is a good selection of horses however in my opinion not enough small horses (teenage sized) which proves difficult for my teen. The yard is not the tidiest but is friendly. We came here after leaving a very snobby yard up the road and have much preferred the relaxed atmosphere this yard provides. The horses are at times dirty but are all of a good weight and well looked after. I have never been made to feel silly At this yard and feel more confident in myself. The horses can be typical school horses and be dead to the leg however I have noticed that now I have improved and can ask for what I want more effectively, they seem to listen to the leg more.
Do Not Recommend This Place
I currently keep my pony there on loan to the yard as a riding school pony and I think it's a disgrace quite frankly. I have had to find out myself that my saddle was misplaced and no one bothered to ring me and tell me!!!ny pony had not had we shoes done or her feet trimmed in over four months as they're farrier told me they said to not do he as she didn't matter.! The outdoor school is dangerous there's concrete parts with no sand covering it. I cannot wait for my pony to be home on nov where she will receive the proper care. That place is a joke and the stables are dirty and the ponies are kept in all day with no hay and there is no turnout. I hear the owner is in a lot of dept ha in supposed they are still going!!! The staff are useless and you could walk right in there and take something !! Just rediculous!!!
This review is not true!Horses have hay when they are kept in and there is turnout. The owner is not in debt and staff know what they are doing and the outdoor school is usable at all times unless it has been raining heavy.
Average, Horses Were Slow, Stables Were A Mess!
I am an experienced rider and I went to these stables for a one hour hack with a friend. We arrived 10 minutes early (we were told to do this to fill in paperwork) and there was no-one on the reception to help us. Eventually after 10 minutes I got bored of waiting so I asked a young girl for assistance. I was told that the instructor was still teaching and so we would have to wait. I went to the toilet in the meantime and wished I hadn't (Ive seen festival toilets in better shape!)
The ride was quite slow and the horse that I was on (Billy, I think) was completely dead to the leg, which I was surpised about considering he is only 7!
Overall, the stables were very messy and run-down. The whole place could do with a lick of paint and a clean. The yard appeared to be run by children. I think the place is fine if you are young and are learning to ride - but give it a miss if you are more experienced/older and looking for something more.
This is not true! I'm an experienced rider and Billy is the only horse at the yard that's dead to the leg on hacks, Chester and Obbie are extremely forward going Chester is more for beginners as he's bomb proof but obbie is an ex-racehorse and presents a challenge out on hacks for this reason as both he and Chester get very excited its a shame you had a bad experience there as it's such a lovely yard

Amazing Staff And Friendly Atmosphere
I had looked for a place where my 5 year old daughter could learn to ride and after visiting a few around the Berkshire area Bearwood was the only place where she felt like she was welcomed into the centre from the start.
Ever since this day she has loved going there for lessons and wouldnt change venue.
The staff are truly amazing and a credit to the centre
