Did Not Listen To Specific Instructions. Very Unprofessional
I have a car that's lower to the ground. I ordered a specific trailer. They assured me they would send a liftgated trailer to lift it into the trailer properly. They sent the wrong trailer and drug my car up a ramp. I was not there. I had a family member send me a video after the fact I sent it to the company and they admitted they were at fault they admitted my paperwork said liftgated trailer required. They admitted fault. After damaging my vehicle they refuse to give me a refund. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They are very very unprofessional. Do not make the same mistake I did

Lacks Professionalism And Integrity
The only reason I am giving Montway Auto Transport 1 star is because I did eventually receive my cars, and other than a dead battery, they were in the shape I was expecting. They failed to deliver within the 48 hour window they indicated. Much of my disappointment is with Montway’s lack of, or seemingly intentional inaccurate communication provided to me. The most difficult was being told by the driver he would arrive at a certain time but not show up and not call to indicate his schedule shifted. I am a reasonable person and asking for communication about promised delivery times is not an unreasonable expectation, heck it is just common courtesy. I understand that giving an exact day and time is not possible given all the variables involved in across-country transport; however, providing inaccurate information ongoing is beyond disrespectful. The original delivery was Tues or Wed but when both of those days came and went, I had to call them to find out what was happening. Then being told we will be there Wed at 7:30 pm but again to no avail- they did not arrive- again no call to me so I had to contact them because I am sitting in the parking lot of a public location to receive the cars (I live in the mountains and roads will not accommodate semis) and being told “sorry will can be there at 10 pm instead”. Because of the late hour we agreed on deliver the following day no later than 11:30am. No surprise 11:30 came and went and my call to the driver again gave a “sorry, I will be there at 1:00”… wouldn’t you know it, no cars at 1:00. They finally arrived at 1:30. After being misinformed and misled to three times, I contacted a supervisor and they apologized for the ongoing inconvenience but could do nothing for me. I paid $3000 to get two cars from RI to CO and was required to take three days off work to be available to meet the driver. I found this entire experience unprofessional and unacceptable! Montway Auto Transport was untrue to me not once, not twice, but three times. So because the only thing management can provide is an apology, coupled with poor communication (and most of the time no communication), and unprofessional staff (along with the requirement of me sitting in a public parking lot for a total of 9 hours) is why this company deserves ZERO stars.

False Advertising And Terrible Service
Unexpected charges. Late pickup. Noncommunicative. Poor service. The agents and customer service were incredibly helpful and kind. However, they outsource their pickup/delivery and that's where there's mistakes. They promise door-to-door delivery, yet requested us to meet them across town at a Costco to drop off the car. You can pay extra to ensure they pick up on a certain day (within a timeframe), but don't worry... that won't happen. They will be late and not communicate (the next day when we were departing on a plane). After rescheduling pickup and verified service delivery, they under deliver by surprising you with an inconvenient drop-off location (so much for door-to-door) and an additional fee (wait what?!). You're told that the car can be shipped with cargo (as long as it does not go above the window line). But rest assured, you'll be told unexpectedly to pay a $150 cargo fee at transport. I would not recommend this transporting service. Even after having caring agents and confirmed alternative services (due to their error), they still inconvenienced the customer.

Montway Auto Transport is undoubtedly the worst business I have ever worked with. They are laughably unprofessional, grossly incompetent, and genuinely not concerned about their customers. On March 20th, I booked a shipment with Montway to transport my car from SoCal to Milwaukee. I chose their more expensive quote over their competitors because they advertised pickup in a five day window rather than seven, like most companies.
As my first pickup day of April 15th approached I had heard nothing from the company, but assumed I would hear from them soon. I called Montway near the end of my pickup window and they just told me, "we are working on it." This answer continued for several days until they told me they could not ship my car for what we agreed upon and I had to pay an additional 10%. After several calls where they told me that it's not their fault they can't ship for the agreed upon price because gas is more expensive (the average gallon of gas had dropped 20c/gal during that time), I reluctantly agreed because I needed my car for work. Finally, they found a driver and my car was picked up on April 27th (the day after it was originally scheduled for delivery) and delivery would take place between the 29th-30th, however, that was not the case. My driver changed delivery from the 29th to the 30th, to May 6th and finally delivered my car on May 7th, 10 days after he picked it up, and 22 days after it was available. Finally, to top it off, my driver called 20 minutes before the delivery because he said that he couldn't delver to me and I had to drive to meet him and that there was no way he could have told me sooner because that's impossible to look up.
Montway's sales team offers quotes that they can't back up with the knowledge that they have most people trapped because they can't afford a last minute listing with a different company, so they have to pay more.
I would rather fly back to my car and drive across the country than ship with Montway.

Hiden Fees After The Price Is Sattled
I confirmed the quoted price with an agent during the chat. And suddenly the price went up for $300 with no reason when they ask me to confirm. No explanation there, they just say that the price is wrong. Great experience with Montway.

If I could give a minus I absolutely would. Our bike sat two hours away from us but was not being delivered.
Montway had zero communication with us and or with the third party subcontractor even though we were chasing them to find out when our bike would be delivered.
We were always told, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, my colleague made a mistake, we’ll have a supervisor call you, it’s not our fault it’s the third party contractors fault.
Do not waste your time. You will get more information out of a brick wall.
We are still waiting on multiple call backs which still haven’t happened.
There Moto is fast, reliable hahaha what a joke. It’s been the biggest headache.
Montway wouldn’t even tell us where our bike was until we threatened to call the police to report our bike stolen.
Turns out our bike had been two hours away from our home for 12 days.
We decided to pick up our bike ourselves as we needed our bike for transport.
Never ever again, after finding out we are not the only ones this has happened too, I will NEVER trust their service. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews they have - it has to be their friends and family because there appalling service is intentional
Montway Should Be Ashamed Of How They Do Business
If you are planning on shipping your vehicles with Montway DO NOT DO IT. I have shipped three vessels through Montway, two cars and a Harley Davidson Triglide trike. Shipping the cars was fairly uneventful other then the fact that the communications were subpar. It was very difficult to get any updates as to when my vehicles would arrive. When they finally did, the driver called me when he was 5 minutes away, not the 24-hour advance call or the 1 hour en route call as promised. Subsequently, the transport driver had to wait an hour for me to arrive and never provided me with a Bill of Lading like they are supposed to.
Regarding the shipment of the Harley trike it was absolutely horrible, and I would give Montway no stars if it was possible. First, a Montway broker provides me a quote which I pay in full and began the contract. The following day, a different broker calls me to say the quoted price was wrong and they need to charge me an additional $200 even after I already paid the initial fee. He was rude and would not honor the initial fee. I should've gone with my gut and cancelled then. The process for the transport company they assigned to pick up the trike and ship it was ridiculous. There was no communication and it took days to pick it up. When it was finally picked up, the transport driver had no idea how to operate the trike. I was out of state and unable to help with the pickup but from family that was there it was very careless and unprofessional.
Additionally, the trike took 3 weeks to be transported from IL to CA when I was promised it'd take only 2 weeks. When I finally received an email, the trike would be delivered I had to contact the dispatch center myself as they never called to advise of a delivery window (learned the first time). The following day, the transport driver called me and was furious that the trike was not at the pickup location and that I owed him $50 for wasting his time. I called Montway to relay this information to them and they told me the trike would now be in CA in a few days. I also advise them I did not want that same driver delivering the trike as he was rude, unprofessional, and tried to charge me extra money. The Montway Dispatcher understood and said he would not be the one delivering the trike. When the trike finally showed up a week later, the driver I did not want to deliver my trike was the one driving it up the driveway! I was furious. Although the driver was professional during this contact it’s the principal that matters.
Lastly, as I'm looking over the trike while the driver was unloading it there was significant damage to the Harley that was not there prior to the transport. Somehow the trike sustained a large dent and chip to the front fender, damage to the windscreen, paint damage to the rear fenders, damage to the exhaust pipes, and a completely dead battery (they took possession of it running and documented so). This is a $25k Harley Triglide which now has thousands of dollars in damages. Any damage is absolutely unacceptable and pathetic. I trusted Montway with this transport and they failed miserably. I have pictures just prior to transport that show none of that damage was there.
I called Montway right away and they apologized for the damage and advised me a claim rep would be contacting me. Now I have to go through all the hassle of correcting their wrong on my time. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and they said one would call me. I ended up calling Montway three times over the next two days to speak to a supervisor and never got through to one nor did one ever contact me. This is pathetic, unprofessional, and spineless as it is evident they were only trying to avoid conflict. I guarantee they will respond to this negative review as I will be leaving it anywhere possible including Google and the BBB. They got their payment and that's all that mattered to them. Montway should be ashamed of how they conduct business and embarrassed by their practices. If they cared more about their customers then they should show such, take care of their wrongdoings quickly, and not utilize the lowest bidder in future transports. Montway, you disappointed me, and I regret contracting through you. I recommend no one use your services again.

Unethical, Does Not Honor Quotes
Montway is an unethical business. They engage in bait-and-switch tactics in which they entice you with a low bid, then refuse to honor the bid and instead demand more money. They gave me a bid that I accepted, then demanded additional funds claiming that the route was "more expensive than they expected" and they would not make a profit,, and unilaterally canceled the contract when I requested that they honor their bid. Their bids cannot be trusted as they will not honor them.

Beware Awful Experienc Awaits
I contracted with Montway to ship my truck across country. They did not inform me I should receive a bill of lading at the origin and destination. The driver called and said they would be arriving at around 7 PM. I called at 9 and they said they should be there within the hour. They actually arrived at 1:30 AM. They arranged to drop the car off in a Walmart parking lot. They had dropped one of the car carrier lifts onto the bumper of my truck creating a deep dent. They also dented the front quarter panel. They ripped the tailpipes off the muffler. All of this damage was concealed they actually painted the dent on the front bumper. The driver then took pictures avoiding the areas they damaged. I arrived three weeks after the truck arrived - it was put directly into storage immediately following the drop off. I discovered the damage and filed a claim. I was told I was unlikely to be successful as I hadn't called within 24 hours of receiving the vehicle. I was also told without the bill of lading i couldn't file the claim. I will three times more to repair the damage than I did on shipping. Montway basically said we just arranged the transport we hold no responsibility this is between you and the company we hired to transport. Single worst experience I have ever had as a consumer.

Was very pleased with the delivery of my car. It came within 24 hours of the notice of pickup. Will use again if I have the opportunity. The fee was very reasonable. Was easy to contact your office and get everything set up for the delivery. No problems at all.
