Certification Commitment

I spent £800 on an assessor course with Brights Assessing, didn't start well as the course material was unclear, but committed to it fully by answering their last communication by email with a positive yes to continue with the course. I've heard nothing since, no information regarding a new certification /awarding body. That's very poor, and I would love to pursue some or all of my money being returned. I see there are still advertisements out there. Can anyone help?

Dont Even Bother

Not worth my finger time to type it, but I have to type something apparently.

Where can I start...The training material were not the right books. We were using their old books with no page numbers. Only being taught certain things from the training book, not the entire book, as you would have thought!!

Seemed like the tutor was having a nervous breakdown, about the course.. Maybe she new something that at the to e the students didn't.

Report Bright Assessor For Fraudulent Behaviour

if you have paid good hard earned cash in to this company for any of the lifelong learn qualifications and they have taken your money and failed to provide the service they have obtained money by deception report them to the police. I have lost £900 and even if I'd have obtained the qualification it wouldn't have been worth the paper it was copied on to

Do you know what procedure you have to go through to get your money back. I'm in the same position lost £1000.

Ncfe And Bright

I had a lucky escape as I had completed my IQA with Bright using my own learners. However I had to pay £86 to register myself in order to get my award verified . It's now thankfully passed but I have waited a long time and if it hadn't I would have been over £1000 out of pocket. If you can register yourself with Ncfe then do it as long as you have sufficient evidence in order to pass it. I like many others have been duped by Bright and I wish anyone who ended up in my position all the very best and good luck ?

I too was unable to get my money recovered as three months had passed. I have lost 950.00. Still looking at ways to get it back

How did you pay for your course? I went to the bank and they said they could not get it back for me? And if you don't mind me ask who you bank with? £800 is a lot of money as I'm sure your aware I need it back to pay for my course as Bright failed to register me with NCFE. Thank you.

Sophielsmith

Hi I was in the same position as you. I contacted my bank and luckily enough they paid me back and then I went with ebd training which they registered me with NCFE and now I've got my certificate.

Hope this helps

Bright assessing have duped me out of £800 for my TAQA. I contacted Ncfe only to discover that they failed to register me. I am dismayed and disgusted. This company was backed by Government funding making me believe that they were a trustworthy provider. I am at my wits end. Can anyone help?

Awful!!

I paid around 1400 to do a DTLLS course through Bright Assessing, I have been studying for over a year and a half to try and get through this qualification with only a couple if units lefts, 8 teaching observations and lots of work in between I was sent an email saying my mentor had left and would be provided with a new one shortly...2 weeks later there was still nothing so I emailed to find out what was going on as I now had two assignments to submit and no mentor. I received an email around a week later saying that they no longer will be continuing my training and I had to contact OCR who I was registered with. I did so and was told that I now had to find a new provider...none anywhere near where I live in newcastle. I received a list of providers to try and see if they would consider my case through distance learning. Two replied...one if which wanted 250 pound a day to reassess my work plus more on top for certification! The other has been helpful to allow me to gain the first part of the qualification and certificate my units I have already completed for just over 200 pound....to now be told that this may not happen as OCR might not accept my observations so may have to do them again! This is now being disputed! I am no longer employed at the same company and am due to go on maternity leave from my new job in 4 weeks time so I am unsure how that's going to happen! Anyway I contacted trading standards who told me Bright were in breach on contract and to send a letter recorded delivery...which I did...today the letter has been returned to me (a month later) with a red sticker saying 'not called for' I'm guessing because they have gone into liquidation. This has been going on for months now and really don't know what to do next! I've wasted over a year and half doing work and paying all of that money for nothing!!

I can't believe that this company can get away with doing this and no1 can do anything about it! I can imagine how stressful this must be aswell as being pregnant. I have just lost out on £900 as I finished my last assigment of my assessor course and the comapny went bust. No1 can help at all.. the only thing that I would uggest is that you contact your bank and try to get some money back from them. If you paid by direct debt or credit card you should be able to get that money back. I haven't been able to get the money back as I paid by cheque. It is really upsetting as my employer paid for the course and I now have no qual

Do Not Use Bright!

I signed up for the assessing vocational achievement award and to follow on and do the PTLLS award. Gave bright near enough £1000 to do both as it was discounted if i bought the two courses.

i start the course then receive an email stating bright no longer are doing this award, and a new company will be in touch to continue the learning.

.... DID THEY HECK!!

I have called all governing bodies that bright dealt with and not one has me registered!

I have tried to call and email bright and the CEO but with no reply!!

So in my eyes i have been robbed blind!!

You should be ashamed!!

With reading other reviews and press coverage it seems people who have certificates from bright will be re doing the course as no perspective employer will validate it as a qualification. So all round i would avoid like the plague.

Present Situation

Ladies and Gentlemen

I believe that the situation is now that the company has finally finished.

No awarding body would touch them now with a verylong pole.

I have finished all the work and am now seeking a competent OCR provider to verify the work.

I think one should accept the inevitable and moveon

best of luck and regards

David

I urge you all to contact Warwickshire Trading Standards and the Police. There is a file open on Bright. Add your concerns to the growing list. There may be a chance for recompense through the liquidators.

hairobics

I agree! its easy to say move on when you have finished all the work AND theres a chance it will get certificated.

,i spent over £700., completed half the course and now back to square one!

welshi

Easy to say that but it's a lot of money that's just gone and there are plenty if options out there to sort the situation out

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Its a disgrace! I too have spent over £800 on the assessors course, which apparently went for external verification 3 months ago! I think its clear im getting neither a qualification or any money back....all that hard work and money for nothing. Makes me so angry

hairobics

Hi soooooo glad someone else has got this information.I have been trying unsuccessfully for a week to contact them !are you with them?I have been doing the CTLLS course since last year and paid £700!

I received an email a week ago from someone apparently from bright whom asked if I would be interested in transferring to a a higher qualification at no extra cost to me,Naturally I said yes but needed to know more information by email back.but had no reply.

I emailed my tutor yesterday only to receive an automatic reply stating she had left thr company.Today iv emailed and phoned bright with no success.now im worried!

Ceo Of Bright Should Be Ashamed!

Sadly BRIGHT do not live up to their name. I am gobsmacked that the company could have won so many awards and yet have let downj so many learners so spectacurlarly!!! The only light at the end of the tunnel is that NCFE are taking their duty of care very seriously and are collating all the issues relating to BRIGHT. Everyone's case will be investigated. They were amazing. i urge anyone who has had dealings with BRIGHT to lodge their case with NCFE

3
Rainy44

As it turned out, I had not been registered anywhere! Case has now been referred to Warwickshire trading Standards and Warwickshire Police. i would urge you to contact them as Bright as now being investigated.

caropon

You must be one of the lucky ones as NCFE weren't interested in me unless I paid them £76 to be registered and have my portfolio moderated.

Bright Assessing Terrible Service Don't Go Near Them

I also have had countless problems with bright assessing it started well and then I was not told when my mentor left the company, I was repeatedly given lots of contradictory advice which meant I had to do lots of unnecessary work. Then when I had finished all my coursework in March I was given further contradictory advice. Now when I repeatedly try and call and email nobody from the company will answer and I found out my mentor has been sacked.

I am losing all faith in online course providers thanks to this experience.

Q&A

Cherie53

I signed on with Bright to do my PTTLs in 2012. My assessor went sick early in 2013, despite constant emails and queries as well as sending my completed work to another assessor, who sent an email saying Bright was in administration. I still have not received my PTTLs award or had any information regarding it, has anyone else had this happen to them? Apparently they are NOT in administration so I would like this sorted quickly. The costs were paid for by my employer.

Conz

Does anyone know where I can find the contact information in order to get money back, since bright did not register me even though I was told that my assessing certificate is about to arrive?

hairobics

hi I have taken it up with my bank to see if this is possible but don't hold much hope.think its disgusting! iv paid £700 and half way through a ctlls course which has been a waste of a year, apparently if you go on a website called companies house it is now official they are asking to just close down, not go insolvent which is a cop out. if enough people object to them closing then they cant just close they will have to call in administrators and at least then theres a chance they might get you something back, keep at them and try same as me to find all out you can,

Neneh2007

My mentor is no longer with Bright Assessing and I can't get bright assessing staff on the phone. What is going on? I have not completed my course and I have paid in full. Can someone help me?

hairobics

Bright are not insolvent "yet". I posted a complaint on here couple of weeks back as I paid £700 and got no course now or qualification! So so mad and upset along with 100 s of others  I am posting this comment today as I found out yesterday after many calls and emails to 2 different companies. a company called "companies house" have advised me to post information out to others if we don't want them to "close" apparently they are not insolvent yet they have put in a request to a "companies house" and requested to just ""close down". We all have gathered that that is what is happening but we "don't "want that. Learners that are left with no money qualifications etc needs them to to appoint administrators if we are to try and recoup anything back. If they just close down (which is what they have requested) they don't have to pay /do anything. Therefore, my point and advise to hundreds of learners out there whom are so hurt and disappointed like myself is to put in an "objection letter "by email, explaining your personal case and oppose it closing down then there is a chance if enough of us submit theses objection emails, they will not be allowed to just "close",!!  In my opinion they are taking the easy way out! Please all you people out there whom are exactly like me and left frustrated and disappointed please send your objection to close today!!!  good luck everyone....let's beat this!!!

hairobics

Does anyone know if Bright Assessing have gone into liquidation please?

Rainy44

I understand that they are insolvent. Please contact trading standards in Warwickshire and Action Fraud. Send a letter to the Ceo of Bright by recorded delivery quoting the Sale of Good & services Act. details are available throught the CAB.
