Absolutely Amazing Ring

With a lot of help from Samara James, (Thank you to the people I dealt with and others) My Fiancee is now the proud owner of a fabulous 3.79 carat oval diamond ring! The fire and sparkle in the diamond is stunning - it is everything you promissed and more! I can't thank you all enough for the time you spent with me helping me to make the right decisions.

The setting is superb and I found your bespoke design service flawless, I made many changes to the design along the way (thank you for your patience!).

Now for the wedding ring, ;)

I wish someone had told me to come to you first as you had by far the best advice of all the companies i came across. Taking the time to explain to me what would make my diamond look good.... priceless advice.

Everything is absolutely fine until your circumstances change and you want a refund which you are fully justified in having (totally within the policy stated).

Then the attitude totally changes!

Much better jewellery providers out there..

Avoid At All Costs! Its Just About Profit Not Customers

PLEASE PLEASE think twice before using…

PLEASE PLEASE think twice before using this Company SAMARA JAMES. I am writing this review to warn anyone thinking of purchasing from them.There are many other companies who care about customers. Samara James is about profit and nothing more.

The returns policy is flawed and the attitude Disgusting.

My son recently bought an engagement ring with money left to him by my late father for his girlfriend at the time. The engagement never happened and he has been left with an expensive ring that hadn’t been worn or altered other than re sized by Samara James.The engagement didn’t go head & he sent the ring back.

He has had various reasons why Samara James will not except the ring back for a refund.

He was told it had been worn!

Well! It has never been worn as the engagement didn’t happen.

He was also asked why he didn’t send it back straight away..

he sent it back well within the 60 day period stated.

He was told that the fact THEY resized it made it none returnable.

In their policy it states that if it is altered by another company it invalidates the refund.

There is nothing to say that if Samara James resize it makes it none returnable.

I spoke to them on the phone and the attitude was appalling I could tell the guy on the other end of the phone didn’t give one iota. They have the money and that is all they are bothered about.

The 5 star rating is a strange one as if you tap on 2 stars & 1 star ratings there are many unhappy customers who have been duped out of money by these sharks!

My son used all of his inheritance from his grandad (who died recently of cancer)to purchase this ring.

Nine months ago he was crushed by a large vehicle & was told there was every likelihood he would loose his leg and was very lucky to be alive.

Luckily he didn’t Loose his right leg.. but has ongoing major issues with walking and mental scaring as well as major physical scaring. His treatment is ongoing!

He is an amazing young man & I am so so proud of him. He used ALL his grandads money to purchase this ring and take his girlfriend on a holiday.

His relationship ended because of issues relating to his injuries but he is such a positive young man.

Your company have shown absolutely no care and attention to individual customers needs!

And from what I can see ...

Don’t honour your own policy...

it’s all about profit!

Absolutely disgraceful & disgusting ....

Your reply is factually wrong. The ring was never worn and it was never given . It was only ever in the box. There has been no offer or compromise on your part to settle this mater. There was no specific customisation done on the ring other than to provide a ring of an appropriate size.

There were never any options given or alternative solutions all bar one ! That was to find someone getting engaged and sell it to them & you would alter the size! This was suggested by your sales guy who I don’t think I can name .Other than that ridiculous suggestion it was “we are not interested it is now your ring”.

I would also like to know when there was aggression shown?

Just total frustration & upset at the awful situation.

We are taking legal advice ....

Thank you very much for your feedback, I understand this is a very upsetting situation and I’m genuinely sorry that the options we offered to you were not acceptable.

We offer a 60 day full money back guarantee, and if you had returned the ring in an unworn condition within that time frame we would have been happy to offer you a full refund. In this instance we made the ring for you in your requested size, and you then decided some weeks later to make the ring slightly smaller. We made that adjustment on your behalf, as the first resize is free of charge. At this point, though, the ring has been customised and it is no longer in original condition.

I understand that you believe you are entitled to a full refund, so we have suggested referring the case to the Retail Ombudsman. We will be happy to abide by their decision. This is a service which comes at no cost to yourself which you have, at this moment, refused. However, this option is still open to you.

I genuinely am sorry. I realise you are very angry and upset from the tone of your calls, however after the ring has been worn and resized it is not in the original unworn condition.

We have tried to offer you some alternative solutions to try to help as a goodwill gesture, and while you have rejected them at the moment, these options are still open should you wish to take them up.

Best Buying Experience

I was initially sceptical that I could make a fully informed and good choice on something as important as an engagement ring from an online supplier. I must admit I was somewhat reassured that the showroom/shop is close to me and I could visit if needed. I had visions of turning up to find out where my couple of thousand pounds had gone and finding a yellow three wheeler parked by a lock up but this in the event couldn’t have been further from the truth. It’s clear that great thought has been given to make the customer experience exemplpery. It really felt more like a process of consultation than a point in time transaction. This has since been proven by the efficiency and friendliness shown in dealing with the inevitable (free) resizing. Guys, if you didn’t know - cleverly borrowing a series of your partner’s existing rings, gettIng them sized and then taking an average doesn’t work. It seems that human kind has evolved so that size of the left ring finger bears zero resemblance to soze of any other body part. In any case I would highly recommend giving SJ a call and discussing your needs. They really only use the online channel for the transactional parts of the purchase and I believe they will give you all the time you need on the phone or in person for the consultative parts.

I Am Very Pleased With My Engagement Ring From Sam

I am very pleased with my engagement ring from samara james... Staff were very polite and explained in depth about the clarity and cut of a diamond. I explained I wanted it to be sparkling as can be, they advised on the ideal cut... It is a beautiful ring I am really pleased with it, I have received lots of lovely comments.. the quality is amazing... Thank you samara james.

Charged For Manufacturing Problem

After my husband ordered my ring and it needed to be resized. When it came back the diamond was loose. Staff blamed me for this - I had not actually worn it. They waived the fee to have it fixed when we argued our case.

The diamond was fine for a while, then came loose again 5 months later, on the day we left for honeymoon. This time we had no choice but to pay for it to be tightened again.

The diamond has not come loose since that second incident which suggests that it was not correctly tightened the first time and we should never have been charged. It is unbelievable there was no warranty to protect us against this. Instead staff said I must have damaged it myself??!

Note that Samara James send their independent Feefo review link to the buyer - this is often not the person who actually wears the ring, and that person does not get the opportunity to give their feedback at any stage. While the ring is beautiful, the service we received was lacking and we purchased our wedding rings elsewhere.

We are having the same problem my ring arrived scratched and I was told I had done it in 48 hours it was in my possession. Now we have a bill of £4000 and no ring customer service is appalling.

I am really sorry to hear about the issue with your loose diamond.

It is very rare that a diamond we have set becomes loose, as we do take great care to set each individual diamond.

I understand, for an item as important as an engagement ring, a diamond becoming loose must be very distressing. Because of this, we would arrange for the ring to be returned to us, without delay and at our expense, to examine the ring in order to determine the cause. If the cause is unclear, we will fix the issue under our lifetime warranty, with no charge.

Unfortunately though, a diamond can occasionally become loose if one of the claws has been accidentally knocked. If one of the claws needs to be re-adjusted following an accident, a repair will proceed only upon our customer’s approval.

We only ever charge the cost price for the repair work involved and as a gesture of goodwill we also completely refurbish the ring, giving it an as-new appearance.

Our customer’s satisfaction is very important to us and we consistently endeavour to ensure the highest possible standards.

Fantastic Service

Ring arrived in time and better than expected. The heart and arrows cut truly sparkles and fires superbly, was better than a excellent cut gia certified high street diamond. Spoke to an expert in the field and took me through the options and gia certification for piece of mind. Sceptical At First

I was extremely sceptical about purchasing from a jeweller that I had never heard of; especially seeing as I was about to part with so much money. I am now thrilled that I took the chance and left my wedding ring in their hands. Samara James have taken my mother's engagement ring and eternity ring, made of yellow gold, and used them to make two wedding bands. Very pleased with the results - the rings are stunning.

Very Short Stay

When I arrived I was already tired of shopping for the 'perfect' ring. I didn't really feel like looking round much and there was a lot to choose from too which in this case didn't help any. BUT the staff are so efficient at their jobs I barely had to look at all, all I did was describe the type of ring I was after, what it should include and BINGO they'd found one for me within no time.

Such an easy going place; nothing like the other stores that try to force you into buying something. Enjoyed my short experience here.
