G-Tech SW01 Cordless Electronic Sweeper 7.2V

It is amazing quality, so easy to use and gets the job done.

I have had my cordless sweeper several years and swear by it - so lightweight, hand and easy to use however lately it has taken to picking the fluff up then spitting it back out again. It has been cleaned inside and out - even taken to pieces and reassembled. I empty it after each use - emptying is so simple. There is no "blockage" than I can see - has anyone has this problem and if so, how can it be rectified, if indeed it can be rectifed. Perhaps I have just worn my sweeper out.

A great pity about this sweeper. The base of the handle joint is made of cheap thin plastic and breaks off so sweeper cannot be used with handle. Three handles have broken and I am now on the fourth and last one as I shall be discarding the sweeper after this and getting something else. I have purchased two of these sweepers. It is useless and not fit for purpose. A great shame as the sweeper part is okay for bedrooms and similar. Telephoned the company several years ago re this problem but nothing done about it.

Takes ages to charge but after 18 months light use (I use a Dyson for vacuuming)the battery won't hold a charge. It would probably have lasted longer if there had been some indication of full and low charge. Its fine when it's going but I am debating whether it is worth buying a new battery. I'm currently thinking of cutting my losses and buying somehting superior.

It worked like adream until the handle fell off after only a few weeks. After a bit of hassle with a woman who insisted I sent the handle back, I recieved a replacement. This has worked for several months but now the habdle has fallen off again due to the plastic fitting. If only they could do something about the rubbish habdle fitting it would be an excellent tool,

bought my gtech electronic sweeper and daughters over six years ago. tried three others but non can compete with gtechsw02. only re-newing them due to general wear and tear, we are not extremely carefull, and they do take a hard knock or two. I still use my dyson for general cleaning but for handy and quick clean they cannot be beaten.

When my wife persuaded me to buy one of these G-Tech SW01 Cordless Electronic Sweepers and I saw the word "NiCad" I thought immediately that I would be in loads of trouble. We have now had it for several years, given it regular but infrequent light use in bedroom only, and this month, sure enough, the battery is dead. Last month I could get 6-7 mins of use from an overnight charge, today, 1-2 minutes if I'm lucky. It won't hold charge for more than an hour or so. It won't break the bank to get a new batt-pack - £20 inc postage, but this is 2/3 the price of the original sweeper complete, so someone is ripping me off as usual. In use, it is drawing about 4amps, so I guess I could run it off a 6v car battery charger if I made a long lead, and forget the battery completely.

Please dont waste your money on this G-Tech SW01 like I did. Worst thing I have bought to me it is not a avacuum cleaner, but a worthless piece of junk.

I'm well pleased with the G-Tech SW01 Cordless Electronic Sweeper. It's very handy and light to use and it is also easily stored, just a shame about the battery issue, but that is minor.

I found this in a garden centre and probably paid too much for it but my mother was so pleased I don't mind. I had never heard of it before and I have bought two other 'light' vacuum cleaners which were far too heavy for her to use and too difficult to empty. Certainly effective-right up to edge of carpet- emptying the tray lets you see how well it lifts.
