Delivery Of Rangemaster Cooker

I am reviewing delivery only, item not yet installed. I found service by Jade technology efficient and was not surprised that delivery was 1 hour later than the 6-8 pm time slot as it must have been at the end of a long day in bad weather. However my husband and I were concerned that only one delivery man was used for such a big item, my husband was able to help and we did not have too many steps but in different circumstances it must be a health and safety hazard as well as risking damaging large, expensive items to use only one person.

I Like The Choice Of The 2 Different Capacity Fan

I like the choice of the 2 different capacity fan assisted ovens. However over the 3-year period I have owned the Classic 90 I have had to have the clock replaced twice. This is due to the position of it above the larger capacity oven. When the door is opened during use any steam that escapes has an adverse affect on the clock causing it to retain moisture and eventually breakdown. The service I have received is good but this is a definite design fault and causes the complete operation of the 2 ovens and grill to become non-functional until a new clock has been installed.

Good Cooker And Looks Great To Start With But With

Good Cooker and looks great to start with but within a couple of years the fascia begins to look tatty as the dial indicators wear off. Rangemasters solution....buy a new fascia which requires an engineer to fit. A big shame as its looks let it down after a while.

I Have Had This Cooker Over 3 Years And In This Ti

I have had this cooker over 3 years and in this time it has been a great purchase. The only fault was with a fan housing that failed in the first year, this was changed under guarantee. The ovens heat to temp in a very short time- the smaller oven quicker than the large one. This cooker still looks new after three years. If you are thinking buying this cooker- go for it.

We've Had The Gas Version Rangemaster Classic 90 F

We've had the gas version Rangemaster Classic 90 for 9 months now and are very pleased with it.

Likes: solid construction, easy-to-set timer with a cute alarm beep, massive wok ring - very good for large saucepans as well, easy-to-use-and-see control knobs - you can tell at a glance from across the kitchen whether you've remembered to turn them all off. The user manual is downloadable from the Rangemaster web site, worth studying in detail before you make the decision to buy

Dislikes: the spark ignition on the hob rings is not reliable; this is because the gas ring components are loose and designed to be easy to clean, but when you put them back it's also easy to get them misaligned, in which case the spark doesn't ignite the gas. The workaround is to keep a piezo lighter handy. The oven ignition seems to be reliable, but takes several sparks before it goes. It seems that you can't use the gas oven at all if the electricity is off, although this hasn't happened to us yet

Not much use: the electric oven - we've never used it yet, gas is a lot cheaper per kWh than electricity; the shelf on the door of the gas oven - looks a neat idea to start with, but gets in the way more than you expect (but can be removed); the pointless safety chain (necessary to tie the rear of the unit to the wall, as a result of some idiotic safety regulation, to stop the cooker falling over. No, really).

Be careful: although this model has both a gas and an electric oven, don't confuse it with the Dual Fuel version which has all electric ovens and a gas hob (or was it vice versa). Our supplier did, and had to source the right model in a hurry, to their embarrassment. Rangemaster should be clearer in their descriptions.

Q&A

gilliangreaves

The oven doors swing shut when I am using them, I end up trying to pull out the shelf, which I also find difficult, hold open the door and remove the food. I have burnt my hands numerous times - the doors would be better if they would stay open. The shelves also do not run smoothly when you pull them out. I wouldn't purchase another Rangemaster cooker for this reason. Does anyone else have these issues?
