Belling 665

I purchased a Belling oven about three years ago. Unfortunatley, as the kitchen fitters were removing the appliance from the package the front door glass just shattered – no impact, no fall, just shattered. We then purchase another one from Belling direct which they came and installed. A little over a few weeks later when the oven was in use, the front door glass, and internal removal glass exploded in the kitchen, shattering glass spread everywhere and luckily my two children were not the kitchen at the time. We contacted Belling again, and complained and asked why it happned. They provided no explanation, but came to replace it again. It is now 2 year or so later and last night whilst the oven was in use again, the glass on the front door of the oven completely shattered. On this occasion only my mother was home and standing to the side of the oven when it occurred.This is now the 3rdv occasion is has smashed and twice whilst in use. It is clear the oven is not fit for purpose and possibly has a design fault as there has not been any force or impact to the oven door in order for it to shatter the way it has. I am extremely unhappy with the appliance, as I have asked a few retailers, whom say it should not at all happen as its ‘safety glass’, which should not shatter easily. Having spoken to Belling this morning I am very upset with their after service care as they not taking any liability for their faulty product. This oven is not safe, and is a hazard when in use.

Bought my Belling induction cooker in June of this year, after battling 13 years with a very reliable but 'nackered' indesit electric cooker. Style wise the belling is perfect; quality 4 out of 5, the reason for this is during a general clean of the main oven inner glass door, I was showered with shattered glass. After my initial shock and horror, as Christmas is only 4 days away, I managed to compose myself and give customer services a call and briefly explain my predicament, to which i can honestly say was dealt with efficiently; and hopefully if the angels are with me should be delivered on Friday Christmas eve.

Has performed flawlessly for over a year, very happy with the purchase. No problems using it to simmer as previous reviewer mentioned!

Easy to use, cooks well, looks good.

Excellent cooker. Looks nice. Halogen hob is very quick, the other standard ceramic hobs are fast and powerful. Main oven heats to 200 degrees in 5 minutes flat and is A rated. it cooks things like pizza fast!

The timer is easy to use, as is setting the clock. Has a quality feel all over, shows little sign of wear after a year. It is easy to clean with removable glass and removable shelf brackets. Doors close with a solid action. Would buy again.

This is a very well-designed appliance. It is easy to use and maintain and is a stylish component in any kitchen. The build quality is solid and reassuring and it was easy to install. Cooking is a pleasure, with responsive controls and spacious ovens. We would recommend it to a friend. To date, it has been reliable and we appreciate the B energy rating.

I used to love cooking and this Belling 665 cooker has taken all pleasure out of it for me. Unbelievable. Can't simmer on low heat. Even had the sales people out to look at it - a design problem. Mst have exactly the right size pans but even t hen, I can't cook anything slowly. Utter disaster.

Top oven glass door shattered after less than 2 weeks on my Belling 665, however was rapidly replaced without any questions. Perhaps its a known fault? Now almost one year old, one of the main oven door hinges failed. I feel this cooker is dangerous and wish I had not purchased it. My previous Belling ceramic cooker was over 20 years old. The design and quality were better. I wish I'd stuck with it, instead of buying a new one.
