never eva buy from these again had trouble from day one.

i bought this cooker recently, used from the classified ads, by what i have read and since using it i am glad i never spent out all that maoney for a new one. the fan is on even if you open the grill door to put plates for warming. the fan is on again all throught the sunday roast and it is getting on my nerves so i think i will be selling it on again once i purchase another cooker. the knobs are also on the way to being melted .

The 4 burner cooktop lights easily, but knobs do not hold in "off" position (too easy to knock knobs on for gas leakage). Grill & oven are hard to light and do not stay alight for long. Not sure if this is a problem with the type of jets used, or if it is poor workmanship/quality control.I am surprised this type of cooker complies with australian standards reguarding the control knobs, and think suppliers/ installers should check if it is infact within the relevant australian standard

We have found this product dangerous to use, when we light the lower oven and shut the door, this in turn blows the light out but keeps pumping gas out, this has happened many times, also the same happens with the upper grill, luckily we have not blown the house up.

Stoves New Home cooker - didnt want to give it any stars but the webpage wouldnt let me put my comment on without a rating in every box.

Never had a gas cooker before, certainly wouldnt have one again after this experience. Grill does not cook and heat is not adjustable on it, have had to start frying everything to avoid starvation. The main oven takes hours to cook anything specially if more than one item is put in at once or if it is a cook from frozen item - waited 75 mins the other night for kiev and oven chips and the chips were still hard!!! Have to add on at least 45 mins extra even for a single item like a chicken or joint. I cook for family of 4 so need to put more than one thing in - we have ended up eating out several times as so hungry could not wait any longer for grub to cook. The top oven door gets SCALDING hot and will not lay flat but springs up when I am trying to get warmed plates out and I have had two serious burns on my wrists. We live in rented accomodation so the oven came with the property but it is so bad we are gonna go out and buy a new oven ourselves, that is if we havent starved to death in the meantime waiting for our dinner to cook :(

I cannot give this cooker any more than 1s tars. The grill is totally useless - 30 minutes to lightly grill bacon, hate to think how long it would take for crispy rashers! The manufacturer has been out twice. The first time the engineer stated there was nothing wrong with it, although he agreed it wasn't very hot. The second time the engineer tested everything and found nothing wrong, but conceded that the grills aren't very good on this model. I would NEVER but this make again and CANNOT recommend it at all.

I have just cooked a full family meal for the first time on a STOVES NEWHOME cooker. I am appalled by the heat generated and the potential danger it poses.

The finish is thin, NOT, all the shelf positions are usable, Who designed a family cooker like this. I bought it because I had a STOVES previously and it was excellent, well finished, and sturdy. I thought that once again I would be the owner of a "top of the range" appliance.

When I phoned the company I was fobbed off by an off hand young man and told that I should have known that the front venting system weould make cooking for any lenght of time a VERY hot exercise. No one told me in advance. In short I am furious and require my money back

The doors get VERY VERY hot. I bought my Stoves Newhome SI550DOm last August. Even though it is cleaned straight after use, my upper oven door is dicoloured brown. My pies & cakes cook more on the rear side, but also the centre doesn't cook properly.

I am extremely dissapointed as I have had Newholme ovens with glass doors before and never encountered any problems. I only changed it as we were unable to get parts for it.,

I purchased the Newhome SI550Dom Stoves cooker and am extremely dissappointed. I do not know how it has passed Safety Regulations regarding the heat of the top oven door when using the lower oven. This is not hot it is SCOLDING. When I told Stoves they said anyone should know that front vent ovens get hot. I feel it is dangerously hot and can seriously scold a child or elderly person. In fact the heat from the oven heats the whole of the downstairs of my house. The top oven glass pane is stained brown (engineer told me to wash it after every use). Is this heat making the glass pain unsafe I wonder?

The Stoves Newhome SI550DOm Cooker looks nice, some time after buying it the heat would not regulate it was off or on full, the shelvesdo not fit properly, Then about three weeks ago my daughter just got something out closed the door and there was a loud bang and the inside glass door shattered to pieces, we were lucky the door was shut as I hate to think what might have been.
