Warranty Useless

Bought my double oven in January 2016 with 3 year warranty administered by UK Warranty. First small things like the ovenlight had to be replaced which I did, next to go was the main oven element after 18 months. Contacted the warranty providers - had to wait 3 weeks while they ordered the part (when he eventually came back he brought a universal element not even a de dietrich one) then to be told the wire at back of oven was too short for engineer to get the oven out. In desperation bought new oven (not de dietrich) the electrician who fitted it showed me the wire was plenty long enough. So if you buy one throw the warranty straight in the bin they are not interested in repairing them and they will go wrong.

Opinion Changed

Having had serious issues with De Dietrich initially with a problem oven, they have now over exceeded what was necessary and are a credit to the brand. think the issues with new distribution company now being ironed out.Would now thoroughly recommend. Stylish product with a lot of cooking features you would usually find on a more expensive model.

Worst Kitchen Brand In The World

Never, ever buy anything from this company. We've had a coffee machine, built in, and a very expensive 90 litre oven and they've been the worst purchases ever made. For a premium priced product you'd think they would work flawlessly, but no. The coffee machine needs almost monthly service to function properly, otherwise it refuses to work as the "water tank is empty" - when it's completely full.

As for the oven. Well the new version of this oven took a year to be delivered (probably because the French workers were too busy with their mistresses and smoking Gauloises to be bothered to, you know, actually make anything), and then the oven really doesn't function as an oven. Any temperature above 200 deg C and it cuts out and completely switches itself off. Handy, that.

So, if you have money to burn and holes to fill in your kitchen with appliances that don't actually do anything useful, then by all means buy De Dietrich. Otherwise, your money would be far better used on anything else - a Calor gas stove for example, or just wood. And instant coffee.

Completely, absolutely useless. And don't even get me started on the customer service. Which doesn't exist.

Poor Design, Not Durable

On the advice of a salesman, we fitted our kitchen with de dietrich products. They look good, but don't last - and the maintenance is very difficult. The combi microwave grill is useless, the oven was OK until the heating elements needed replacing - and the simple task took hours.

Avoid this brand at all costs, despite the appearance - they don't last and they are a hassle to look after.

Fagor (dedietrich) Double Oven Model Fbi981x3

Thinking of buying a Fagor (DeDietrich) oven - take a hint - DON'T. We installed this oven 5 years ago on a kitchen refit. Twice during the 5 year warranty period the oven temperature control switch has become defective. On both occasions the wrong switch was sent to the repairer. On the first occasion the correct switch was sent after 3 weeks. On the second and current occasion, after sending the wrong switch, the correct switch was promised on a certain date, but this was not honoured, a second date was promised, again no switch, we have now been promised a third date - we are not holding our breath - the oven has been effectively useless for three months including over the Christmas period. I Mailed their service director electronically, which was totally ignored. I wrote to their Basingstoke address, this was totally ignored, not even the courtesy of an acknowledgement. Now planning to sue them for breach of contract and or making a claim for a replacement oven through the small claims division of the County Court.

Incidentally their website does not even recognise the model of oven we have - what a great start! Will stick to buying British in future.

De Detrich Are Rubbish

Bought De Detrich DOD788B1 double oven with new kitchen. On carrying out cleaning process which also locks the door on the main oven, the internal glass cracked. Optiplan who fitted the kitchen point blank refused to help & after speaking to the MD who referred us to De Detrich who also refused as the glass was only guaranteed for one month! Not good when the unit was only 11 months old. Spares are difficult to get hold of & De Detrich don't seem to have any engineers. A poor show for an apparent premium quality product!!

I'm having problems with my induction hob and oven too. Customer service useless. They used to be great but I think they have started buying cheap parts now...

sadcook

I've just come off the phone from De Detrich service centre in Basingstoke. My oven failed the week before Christmas, the engineer arrived Christmas eve with the wrong part, he came again today with the wrong part! Parts will now have to be ordered from France another 3 days, customers are not compensated, my husband is self employed and every hour spent waiting for the engneer to turn up is money lost. The engineer lied to the service company, the customer service manager says she gave the service company the details and instructions but they say she didn't there are apparntly no notes on the system to confirm the instrctions. I have made umpteen calls and I still have both ovens with faults. But De Detrich don't care. I even said I would put this on twitter - I was amost dated to. So I will and I'll tell anyone and everyone what a terrible company De Detich are.

Microwave

bought new microwave oven-after being faulty and out of 'warranty' took to local repairer---parts are not available, apparently spare parts unavailable, as they are 'obsolete'. What a poor investment after such a short time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never buy this expensive rubbish again.

Do Not Waste Your Money

Purchased new kitchen and they recommended Dietrich appliances and these appliances spoilt my kitchen I without dount could have spent at least 70% less and got far better not only that their customer services should be prosecuted under trade descriptions.

Three of appliances broke within 13 months but because i was not told by my kitchen fitter I need to register my appliance i was out of warrenty and having spent over £5,000 I was not happy! I could have spent less than half of that that and got a far better product, My advice is NEVER BUY Dietrich EVERY AS TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR MONEY BELIVE ME

I agree, I bought an double oven from Applicance City, and it was bleeping, and turning itself on running through all the program's and turning itself off.

I did not know this as it was happening randomly. So I called Appicance City requesting a replacement with a new oven @£898.00.

AC said that they would only repaire since the problem was reported 28days from purchase. Oven is not what i use every day, like a microwave or dishwasher, plus working I was not at home to notice the problem earlier.

After 3 days taken out for the engineer to call try to fix the problem, close to 15 calls and time taken to do this, I am still waiting to a brand new oven that should be working perfectly from day one!

Customer Service at Appliacnce City, DeDietrich and all the contracts involved to order, authorise, book the call out, engineers (who did know the technical side of the oven to fix it!) and chasing all the above I'm still waiting for Appliacnce City to receive the report from the engineer to find a solution to what has become a thorn in my side and bottomless costs to have an oven that is not showing to be dangerous and an oven that works!

Oh how familiar this sounds! Have 3 hob appliances and 2 DD ovens. The Teppanyaki blew up shortly after installation and the repair has not worked. The wok hob was faulty and still is, despite repeated visits by at least 2 different repairmen, neither of whom knew how to repair it. The convection hob is now also failing on the main ring and I think I might prefer to leap off the nearest cliff than have to deal with either RepairCare or indeed De Dietrich itself ever again - we have had months of utter misery and frustration and the company does not seem to care one iota - the best offer was a small % off new equipment (as if I would ever want to buy DD again!) and since then complete silence.

Do NOT ever buy De Dietrich unless you want to make your life hell and your kitchen a saga of failed meals...

De Dietrich Appliances

We purchased a house which had the integrated appliances removed so felt obliged to mirror the same manufacturer as the oven and induction hob already present.

We purchased an oven/microwave combo and a steam oven.

To sum up briefly, extremely stylish, at the top end of the price scale. Very poor products, even worse back up, not intuitive.

Knowing then what I know now I would have rather re-newed the hob and oven which were in working order and bought into a credible brand like Neff, Miele or Siemens.

Do not touch De Dietrich with a barge pole.
