Breaks Far Too Easily

Started off well, but after a month or two it kept ceasing up. This was despite near constant cleaning.

There's not a lot else to say about it, but apparantly my review is too short, so here goes a bit more.

This can be quite messy too, but the main problem is it just keeps jamming up, so you have to bang it hard on the work surface a few times before it starts again. Naturally enough, this causes some ground coffee to escape, adding to the mess, and you end up feeling like the emperor in the emperor's new clothes.

I Love It!

I've had this for 2 years now and I really like it and am surprised by the negative reviews.

Ok, so it gets hot, but I just switch it off at the plug after every use - also avoids children having accidents! I don't find the lid falls into the 'pot'. I alter the courseness of the coffee depending on caffetiere or filter and this works, also have it on a fixed setting for one cup, so even my husband can make me coffee!!

I think it is well priced and would recommend it for others, have in fact been looking to buy one for someone this Christmas.

Don't Waste Your Money On This Dog Of A Coffee Gri

Don't waste your money on this dog of a coffee grinder. The thing stopped grinding all of a sudden for no apparent reason. The shop sent me a replacement which also failed. If I could figure out how to give it zero stars, I would.

The Krups Gvx231 Grinder Is A Poor Performer. Why

The Krups GVX231 Grinder is a poor performer. Why they have an adjustment control I do not know as it seems to make no difference to the fineness of the grind.

The Shop Was Going To Leave The Krups Gvx231 Grind

The shop was going to leave the Krups GVX231 Grinder on overnight to test, but it got so hot they felt it was not wise to do so (I was not the first to return it for this reason, one example did produce smoke). The shop was going to change it for another which was not quite so bad in their own test, but still remained pretty warm. I was then offered the Dualit one which was more expensive, but has been working well for some time now.

The Krups Gvx231 Grinder Looks Good Value On The S

The Krups GVX231 Grinder looks good value on the shelf but don't be fooled. I guess it's another case of you get what you pay for. It failed after two years. It is messy: ground coffee flies everywhere when emptying the hopper due to static electricity generated by the (unnecessarily?) fast grinding speed; hopper lid is easy to drop into the hopper when emptying resulting in more mess.

If the need is to grind just enough coffee for a brew (e.g. if you like to vary your coffee flavours as I do), the feed hopper is often reluctant to empty and one needs to give the machine several taps / shakes to get the last beans through. Spend a bit more and get one that's better designed for the job and more robust - it will pay in the long run!

This Krups Gvx231 Grinder Has Safety Buttons To Tr

This Krups GVX231 Grinder has safety buttons to try and protect us from hurting our fingers. These are really annoying on a coffee grinder as they override the grind switch. It's got a nasty easily broken plastic lid for the collector box and if this is not put on correctly a switch stops you from proceeding. Add to this the fact that it will not grind fine and you have a almost useless bit of kit. The on off switch broke within a year. The best thing to do with this is too take a s 4lb sledgehammer to it - I did.
