Igenix Bean To Cup Coffee Maker

Having read the 4/5 star rating this machine has, I bought one. I had a lovely bean to cup machine but sadly it broke and I wanted the freshness of ground coffee, so this was it.

Boom! Bought it!

It arrived very quick. However....hardly any water came out when making the coffee. Back it went. They were very quick at pick up and re-delivery of the 2nd one.

This 2nd one made coffee but tasted horrendous! No matter how many times I cleaned it, the strong plastic taste was still there. In the process of sending it back and getting refund.

I like fresh coffee, nothing more fresher than grinding coffee beans and brewing them within a few minutes. The jug holds 1-5 litres, bean container a bag of beans 200g. You select the grind the strength and amount of wafer to be used. All looked a bit too confusing, but with trial an error you soon get used to your personal preference. It also depends on your taste and or brand of coffee. The machine is quite big looks and feels well built comes with 2 year warranty, uses fresh beans or ground coffee, you can build the used beans up each time you brew or discard and have fresh each time. I use fresh beans on a fairly fine grind, strong brew setting for just 4 cups, then make the machine change to using hot water as if using ground beans/ filter for the remaining 8 cups. The machine beeps when it finishes its programme brews at about 80degs stays hot on plate for 35 minutes then switches off, it will stay hot for half an hour longer but less if you drink and lower the amount in the jug. This really is a brilliant machine brought on eBay for £90, a real bargain.
