Little Guy Otto
The Little Guy OTTO, stove top espresso machine is simply amazing.
If you are a person that understands detail, process and quality, then the Little Guy OTTO is for you.
I bought the OTTO induction stove top as well, which takes all of the guess work out of the heating portion of brewing with the OTTO.
You need to invest a little bit of time getting to know your OTTO, but it is time well invested if you are after the finest espresso coffee shot.
Brewing two perfect shots every morning, and producing rich milk texture is an integral part of my morning start-up routine.
Simply the best espresso shot by a country mile.
Note: It is not suitable for first time coffee machine buyers, unless of course you've been trained, because you need to think, observe and then tweak your grind - that's the most amazing part; you have flexibility to extract a lot of cremer, something 90% of machines on the home market simply can't deliver - flexibility.
Congratulations to the Little Guy OTTO team... PS love the new naked handle, just picked one up last week; learning even more about my tamp than I thought was possible just watching how it extract... who would have thought that? AMAZING
Cheers and thank you for making the Atomic experience complete.

Otto: Beautiful Yes. Viable? Probably Not.
Expect a $200+ repair bill if this $800 Otto stovetop espresso machine “burns out”.
If you are looking for an expensive non-functional piece of kitchen sculpture rather than a durable, affordable coffee maker, look no further.
When a stovetop espresso machine is left on the heat too long, consumers need only replace one rubber component at negligible cost. The trade in
replacement gaskets is testament to the fact that it happens often. But if you leave the Otto on the heat, all of it’s relatively complicated rubber components “burn out”. If you follow up with the manufacturers as I did, you’ll be asked to post the machine at your own expense to their Northcote headquarters and foot the $200 repair bill. When this happened to me I was outraged that such an expensive machine could be ruined so easily. It made me question the Otto’s viability and ponder the question of whether this fancy machine is “fit for its intended purpose”.
Perhaps most consumers would find it difficult to "enjoy their Otto's coffee" if they knew that a simple and common mistake could put the machine out of action for good, or cost them upwards of $200.
I bought the induction stove top from OTTO - they have an auto cut-out ensuring the machine is never burnt out. Worth thinking about if you really love the coffee shot the OTTO produces.
Note: I'm often watching the news, or making toast, when brewing, so I listen out for the beep that the inductions stop top makes indicating extraction is complete, or near complete... I couldn't live without the OTTO induction stove top, making the investment worthwhile for me... even the though of burning my OTTO is enough to make my head spin, as I can't live without it... I think I'm an OTTO addict (if there is such a thing).
