The Most Appaling Device I Ever Bought. Impossible
The most appaling device I ever bought. Impossible to clean properly. After 2 juices it has to be dismantled as there is no outlet for the pulp. So the pulp eventually gets mixed with the juice. Bought it in April, binned it September. Eventualy the blade got stuck. I didn't even bother to complain as I didn't want to waste more time on such a useless device.Extremely heavy motor. Totally not worth it. Total rip off. I was fooled by the swanky website and online demo. Don't be!
I just bought the Jack LaLane juicer for a fraction of the price and works like a dream. Cleans easily, outlet bucket for pulp, very light and very silent when used. Even Juicers from Argos for 20GBP are more efficient and economical than the Rip-off 200GBP Magimix Juicer.

The Magimix Duo Juicer Is Rubbish. It Does Not Ext
The Magimix Duo Juicer is rubbish. It does not extract all the juice in orangesand it takes forever! In fact I tried putting the wet pulp back in and managed to extract more juice. There are no instructions on how long it should take to juice so I was leaving it on for several minutes....not happy with electricity overusage.
I was so disappointed with it's performance (also difficult to clean the pulp basket as it has a half inch lip) that I subscribed to a month's WHICH report. Wished I done it before I bought it.:(
WHICH recommended a Phillips HR 1861 Juicer.
I then bought a Phillips Juicer which came in at a third of the price of the Magimix and my god the difference!!
It juices an orange IMMEDIATELY. Whereas the Magimix ambles along like an old old thing.
I'm now in the process of getting my money back (£169 from Peter Jones) for the very unsatisfactory Magimix Duo. I had originally asked them for a Phillips but they dont sell them.Shame on Peter Jones who are usually so dependable.
I bought the Phillips HR1861 online for £65. The Magimix online was quoted at prices up to £199. !!!

I Am Surprised To Read That Most People Omitted To
I am surprised to read that most people omitted to mention a huge design fault with this product, the fact that this machine starts vibrating violently and uncontrollably, in random spurts once being used. We first thought this was when the container was full of waste or fibre, but it is not so, it can be at any time of operation. My wife basically has given up using it; which is a shame as she is vegetarian and relies on it. I have just bought her the new Philips for her birthday, costing 3 times as much, but it's worth every penny more! The man who sold it to us in John Lewis new all about the Magimix's vibrating problems.
Can you tell me the model of Philips you purchased after?

This Magimix 14112 'le Duo' Juice Extractor Did A
This Magimix 14112 'Le Duo' Juice Extractor did a fair job of juicing, both with the feed and with the citrus juicer. With large quantities of juicing going on, you need to make sure to remove the pulp from the drum every so often. The plastic scraper they provide is actually the right shape, though I always wished they could have designed this differently somehow. My problem with the machine is that plastic locking pieces started falling off after a while and had to be carefully reattached during assembly - then more and more came apart, until finally it doesn't work at all! Yes, something major has now failed. This was a surprise because I thought I had bought a reasonable quality juicer (without going crazy on the spending) and it did start out well, but oh dear oh dear, it sits there useless in the kitchen with no help in sight.

The Magimix Looks A Solid, Quality Juicer, And It
The Magimix looks a solid, quality juicer, and it works well up to a point. Like many of the reviewers, we find it difficult to clean properly.
Just after the three year guarantee ran out, a small plastic collar that holds the top assembly in place on the motor unit, broke free so that the top assembly could no longer locate positively. It rendered the machine unuseable. The juicer was used infrequently, and was not abused in any way, yet the part broke.
The cost of repair for fitting this very small plastic component is £69. Needless to say, we are not going ahead with the repair, we'll just buy a £30 machine and replace it as necessary, it's got to be cheaper in the long run!

I Am Not Going To Lie. This Magimix 14112 'le Duo'
I am not going to lie. This Magimix 14112 'Le Duo' Juice Extractor is a rock solid, sturdy piece of apparatus that seems like it could take quite a beating. There's no faulting the motor or the quality of the materials used and most importantly of course, it makes real nice juice!! However.....
... the fact that this product is so difficult and time consuming to clean, for me, completely negates every good thing I can say about it. The manufacturers have simply put zero thought into the practicality of maintaining this product and as such how good it performs is irrelevant because it simply ends up being unused and becoming little more than a kitchen ornament. Everytime I use this thing I am scrubbing and cleaning that pulp basket for an incredible amount of time and it makes me so angry I want to hurl the entire thing out of the window and be done with the damn thing. You could do an entire restaurant's washing up in the time it takes to thoroughly clean this one pulp basket. Ultimately sometimes it is simply impossible to clean it 100% and you learn to accept that the odd few little pulp bits are going to be left behind whatever you do.
I strongly feel that this pulp basket needs to be redesigned to have some kind of unclippable removable lip for cleaning purposes, and if this happens everyone who has bought one of these machines to date should have their pulp baskets swapped out for free by Magimix. Until you see such a MK2 Le Duo on the market I really can't stress enough that this should be avoided at all costs. Stick to smoothie makers for the time being.
to clean the drum I found a trick: just after using the juicer, loosen the fibre in the drum with the plastc pallet provided and tip away waste. Then wash drum under the tap turning round the drum.....this should wash most of the fibre away. There wiil be some fibre left at the bottom of the drum. While under tap give the drum an upwards shake so the water in the bottom of the drum flushes out the remaining fibre....repeat again once or twice and then thats it. Leave some minute bits of fibre to dry out and recycle....perfection is relative. To practice this shake think of turning over pancakes.

The Magimix 14112 'le Duo' Juice Extractor Is Nice
The Magimix 14112 'Le Duo' Juice Extractor is nice and sturdy, but a nightmare to clean. The drum has a plastic ledge that makes it almost impossible to clean all the pulp out of.
The pulp builds up inside the drum, and needs emptying regularly if you make a lot of juice.
I would not have bought this juicer, if I had tried it first.

I Bought The Magimix 14112 'le Duo' Juice Extracto
I bought the Magimix 14112 'Le Duo' Juice Extractor two years ago. It is fantastic, easy to use and clean which means you are more likely to use it. It also comes with the approval of my sister-in-law who has a small child so it is good for family use.

We Bought The Magimix 14112 'le Duo' Juice Extract
We bought the Magimix 14112 'Le Duo' Juice Extractor from the Good Food Show this year. There was limited choice and we were not sure how often we would use it so did not want to spend too much on our first juicer. This juicer was reasonably priced, looked quite good and seemed easy to use. To date we have used it every day and it is easy to make a juice in a couple of minutes. Next time though, I would probably spend a bit more money and shop around a bit first.
