I Bought This Fan Back In April Of 2000, So I Have
i bought this fan back in april of 2000, so i have had it for about 9 going on 10 years now, it's not my only fan but it's my most used one. the way to clean it is to take a phillips head screwdriver and remove the 6 screws in the back. i have had to do maintenance work on it twice, one was because it would turn on but the blade would barelly move and the motor made a loud humming noise, so i took the cover off, and tightend up the spindle support just enough to where the blade moved freely without being presured. (this happend about 3 years after i bought it)and the 2nd time it just didnt seem to be running right so i sprayed the spindle, which i do everytime after i clean it. AND TRUST ME, THIS FAN HAS TAKEN ABUSE BUT STILL WORKS GREAT. If you have any questions on it you can shoot me an email at [email protected] but make sure you title it honeywell fan or somthing along those lines.

The Design From The Motor To Fan Propeller Is Lack
The design from the motor to fan propeller is lacking long lasting support. Motor over time will seize.

I Bought This Honeywell Ht800 Fan For Use In My Ho
I bought this Honeywell HT800 fan for use in my home, but couldn't hear myself talking because of this fan. If it had had a silent mode as well I would not have returned this fan, but as it didn't I did not keep this fan.
I consider that the fan is ceratinly not one for a domestic or Office environment. The noise factor is the cause if that, put in on quiet mode and you reduce its power. It has to be taken into consideration that the noise is couple with the speed of the blades and yes they are powerful, but when you reduce the speed of the rotation you lose the usefulness of the fan.
