Very Reliable And Excellent Cleaning
We bought this used in 2011. It was already 10 years old at the time and have used it in our kitchen since. It has worked almost flawlessly during that time with almost zero maintenance or care. It cleans well, its relatively quiet, and has been exceptionally reliable.
Every so often we have to rewash a cup or bowl, but typically that is a loading issue, not an issue with the dishwasher. When we first had it it occasionally flooded it a cutting board was placed to close to the door, but we haven't had that happen in 10+ Years.
I love this dishwasher so much that I have considered bringing it with me to our new house, even though its old.

I've had this washer for about 10 years and it has worked well without any problems. It is very quiet, cleans dishes VERY well and can handle a large load. Stemware comes out bright and clear. Baked-on foods in pots, pans or casserole dishes are no problem either - as long as you do not block them with other dishes.
The solid waste disposal keeps the inside clean and clear of debris. And the high temperature sanitizing feature kills bacteria.

I Have Had This Dishwasher For Approximately 7 Yea
I have had this dishwasher for approximately 7 years..
I love how quiet it is...but it doesn't clean that well and always has problems and repairs .. probably 3 service repairs in 7 years . Our friends had the same model and got rid of it after 3 years.
Not worth the money.
I will think twice before buying a Bosch again !

Pump Has No Effective Screen And Jams With The Sma
Pump has no effective screen and jams with the smallest of chicken bones. No instruction on clearance in handbook, forcing callout. Job takes 5 mins and could be done easily for which charged £60 when still in guarantee. Customer service intransigent and disinterested - as is this consumer. No more Bosch coming to this household.
Mine is a different model - SGS53C02 GB (trips off the tongue, doesn't it?). The procedure the engineer might have (and I subsequently could have) used is to:
1. Do all the tedious HSE procedures i.e. turn off water, disconnect power etc. etc.
2. Bail out any remaining water.
3. Pull out the machine and tilt backwards to expose under panel.
4. Undo screws that retain panel & remove.
5. Pump and pipes are now exposed.
6. Remove spring clips etc. and also clips that secure pump. Both can then be extracted and checked and replaced.
7. When replacing the under panel, remember to replace that polystyrene disk that conveniently fell out when you removed the panel! This is critical as it forms a crude float switch that operates a water cut-off valve in the event of a Bosch induced flood. The best way is to hold it in place in the dish shaped depression in the under panel with a long shaft screwdriver or length of stout wire, then lift the panel quickly and withdraw the screwdriver when panel is virtually flush with underside of the machine.
8. Replace screws etc.
In the interests of our trans Atlantic cousins, you may think this is procedure to repair a pump blockage - it is not, and never was intended to be, so please do not sue if you break a finger nail.
i have a bosch ss43e0 exxcell maxx and i also have problems with the pump, but we cannot find where to get to it we have seen the white fins but cannot find the impaller can anyone help

Bought this model Bosch SHU5312UC/U11 July 2000. After short while control panel went out. Had to remove washer and take it up north of Atlanta to have them repair it since they don't provide service in our area. After repair, had to go back up and pick it up and re-install it. Not really all that convenient. Last night after dinner went into the kitchen and smelled something electrical burning and the dishwasher had stopped running with no display to indicate a problem (unless you feel the no display indicates the problem). Went out this morning to purchase a new machine. While talking with salesmen, who had expressed an interest in buying a Bosch, let them know that they would have nothing but trouble.
Owned a Kenmore dishwasher for 16 years prior to buying this Bosch and was pleased with it, although it was somewhat louder in operation. Only replaced it when it started leaking.
