I Have Owned My Bosch Dishwasher Model Shu5314 For
I have owned my BOSCH Dishwasher model SHU5314 for 12 yrs now and I have not had issue 1 with the machine it still is as quiet as the day I got it and it cleans dishes amazingly. I have the opportunity to get a new machine and I am going to pass on that I am going to convert it to all white. the original warren tee was 2yrs parts 1 yr labor and 5 yrs electronics with all things some people will have issues with there appliances the big thing is you must maintain something you put dirty dishes in to. I would highly recommend Bosch appliances to all of my family and friends most of my family and friends do have them because of my recommendation. If your going to get 1 stay away from Sears, Go to a local appliance store

We Have A Bosch Dishwasher, Model Shu 5300, That H
We have a Bosch dishwasher, model SHU 5300, that has stopped working. After a brief online search, it is apparent that there is a defect in the circuit board of this particular model. Many consumers have had problems with it and many have posted complaints.
The dishwasher is only three years old. Bosch will cover the cost of a new circuit board, but will not pay for the labor. The Bosch repair people want to charge us $100 to enter our house and look at the dishwasher. The labor would be above and beyond that minimum amount of money.
Considering this is a problem that has been reported by MANY owners of this same model, one would assume a company such as Bosch would stand behind the product and offer to cover the expense of the repair. (Honestly, one would assume Bosch would have issued a recall and fixed all of these defective machines before allowing so many customers to be unhappy.)
I am extremely dissatisfied with the dishwasher, but I am even more dissatisfied with the Bosch company.

We Purchased This Bosch Shu5314 At Karl's Applianc
We purchased this Bosch SHU5314 at Karl's Appliance in Fairfield, New Jersey, USA in September, 2004. Eleven months later, it had stopped cleaning the dishes and required warranty repair. In February, 2006 it stopped draining, this despite the fact that the plumbing to which it is connected is completely clear. After months of prodding, calls to Bosch (most of which were rebuffed), calls to Karl's (most of which were rebuffed) and a thoroughly unpleasant meeting with Karl's grumpy and nasty service manager, Karl's agreed to come out and check the installation, which was verified as proper according to Bosch standards. Now, the machine will not fill, this despite the fact that there is plenty of pressure on the fill pipe and the intake filter at the solenoid valve is clear. We have an extended warranty with N.S.I. but, when they are called, they refuse to honor the warranty with the absurd claim that there are no Bosch-authorized service organizations serving this area, the most densely populated in the entire USA and, in any case, there are fifteen Bosch-authorized service organizations servicing our town.
Avoid Bosch.

I Would Certainly Recommend A Bosch Dishwasher For
I would certainly recommend a Bosch dishwasher for anyone interested in quiet, water savings, and clean dishes.
I too enjoyed the benefits you mentioned on this model of Bosch, especially how quiet it is. However there is a major problem with their control board.
After 2 years the control board failed and had to be replaced. The replacement board has failed again, 3 years later. Based on other reviews it seems a common problem with the Bosch dishwashers.
Very dissappointing considering the cost of the machine.
